Do the words Cuba, Bay of Pigs, JFK, Oswald, Conspiracy, RFK prosecuting the Mafia, Cuban & Russian embassies in Mexico & Oswald, Cuban Missile Crises, Mafia running the Island of Cuba with gambling operations in the 50's...if it looks, swims & quacks like a duck...it must be a duck.

I heard Tony Accardo was very reluctant to approve this, but finally relented to Aiuppa and Cerone. I always wondered if Paul Ricca's death in 1972 paved the way for this to finally happen. That maybe it was harder for Accardo to continue resisting because Paul was gone and he maybe felt more vulnerable??

When Giancana was killed, there was still a national Mafia Commission and as was stated here, New York may also have had a say in getting rid of Giancana. Not that any of their guys would have done it, but they definitely could have had a say in it. Hell, the CIA could also have off'd him.

@@billmason6976 Giancana had been disposed of long before that as a boss though, Aiuppa and Accardo ran the Outfit at that time and Aiuppa sat on the Commission as their representative not Giancana. Accardo could probably whack Sam at that point without needing the Commission to okay it, but who knows, he could've talked to them about it before the murder. From what I heard Sam was killed the night after the 24/7 police surveillance of his house was called off, so it for sure had been planned for some time before that.
At that time though Accardo and the Outfit was as powerful as any of the NY families, if not the most powerful family overall in the country, and it was on their turf so I really don't think the Commission would have had much to say about it.

Man, most the time time people say “blah blah was better in the past” it wasn’t actually better and that’s just nostalgia talking. But in the case of news reporting and journalism I feel like that’s an acceptation and was better then got worse. It shouldn’t feel strange to being watching American news not filtered through bias political parties pushing an agenda, not being narrated by overly snarky and obviously politically biased news reporters.
Seemingly neutral reports just telling you what happened, on what day not blaming the Left or the Right and keeping their personal opinions out of it so you can decide for yourself, shouldn’t feel alien. What the hell happened?

In June of 1960 after Nixon wrapped up the Republican Nomination, he reached out to Howard Hughes via a scramble phone to instruct him to assemble a hit team to eliminate Castro. Hughes passes this off to Bob Maheu. Maheu explains the details to Johnny Roselli. Roselli flies from Vegas to Chicago to seek approval from Sam Giancana. Giancana informs Santo Trafficante Jr, because this event would take place in his territory. Trafficante agrees to do this, but wants to ensure, this is coming from Nixon. Sheffield Edwards who is the Chief of Security for the CIA attends the 3rd meeting on behalf of Nixon and gives Trafficante the green light to move forward. This assassination team was called S-Force. The codename was Operation 40, which would be renamed Operation Mongoose by JFK during his presidency

I’ve always believed that Accardo had something to do with Giancana being booted out of Mexico with the intentions of whacking him, apparently the Outfit wanted to whack Giancana after the Kennedy’s double cross but they didn’t want another high profile killing so he was banned to Mexico, but I don’t think Accardo forgave him over the Kennedy situation, it’s just what I believe but, it doesn’t mean it’s right.
