      @@geraltnroach i wouldnt worry too much about the glass on a dress watch, very hard to scratch a watch when You are in a suit not doing much physical activity!

    Thank you for giving both the advantages and disadvantages of owning this watch. I will definitely consider them before buying this watch. I am initially attracted to its dial and color, of course; its’s reeeeeeeally gorgeous (!!!) but yes, I also have to consider if it’s really worth the money I am paying for as for the other specs as well. Thanks again!

    Beautiful. Haven't seen that dial before. If it was in black with a gold case it would look like a sunflower seed head

    I appreciated your unbiased and informative review. This watch really is a tricky one, as you said it has such a gorgeous dial, but also has so many of the issues we've come to almost expect from Seiko. Still on the fence about buying it

      Loook at the Zelos Nova as well, à really worthy alternative, more refined but a tad more expensive, I just did a video about it :

      Hello from India. I just loved the way this watch looks and I love to collect rare time pieces. I recently bought an Orient Bambino Numeral and it looks fantastic and is a great value for money. Loved this watch after watching your video and though the movement and the glass won't be a deal breaker for me, i wanted to ask you whether really this limited edition thing makes it a collectable timepiece?

      This is a limited edition and it's almost twice as expensive because of that. However there are the other new cocktails that are much more affordable and just as beautiful (the Negroni, etc). All the best and have a lovely day!

      @@Horologique you should brother its awesome. Got my sight on the upcoming SPB 187 due in about 2 weeks time... Seiko is making a killing this past months... Having those 3 recreations of the most iconic Seiko Divers is a must. Well the SLAs is a must but for the regular people i would settle for those three. 😂

    Dude, what you said is very true.. As a Seikopath this flaws will not hold me from buying it.. I plan this watch as a gift for my family.
    Come on Seiko!.. We are your lovers .. We bought lot of craft from you .. SO, PLEASE US, Seiko!!!.. Why you like to hurt us just for a few penny .. That's not make sense unless you are so arrogant think that you are giant

    Great review! Totally agree with your comment that Seiko should have put in better movement than 4R35 and also use Sapphire crystal instead of hardlex crystal

      I have two 4R Seikos and two 6Rs. The 4Rs are dead accurate at + 2s/d while the 6Rs are -20/d. With regulation the 6Rs would improve, but this is what I got out of factory. So I’m perfectly happy with the 4R: I actually have the pink one of this watch and it’s super accurate!

    Seikos are addictive because they make the best dials. It looks like it should cost thousands not hundreds.

    Was looking to pickup a SARB033 if I found one... However, I came across these new cocktail models and the dark blue one really strikes my fancy... Would you recommend picking this up or going with the SARB if I find it? I understand the SARB has the better movement and a better crystal, but this dial is just amazing!

      I have both. It's a hard decision. The SARB033 has the better movement and sapphire crystal, but this one has this mesmerising dial! If it were me I'd go for the SARB as they are getting harder and harder to get, but that's a very very close call as this one is a LE. And if you are in love with this one's dial, go for what your heart is telling you 😊

      Horologique Haha my heart tells me to get both. That’s the problem with Seikos. They’re in that affordable price bracket where you keep buying more & more and before it hits you, you’ve spent a fortune on them. Currently saving up for a GS snowflake. Absolutely my favorite watch.

      You've nailed it, that's EXACTLY the problem with Seikos, until one day you wake up with 50 of them and you could have bought a Patek 😂.
      If you really want a Snowflake be strong, save for it and don't get distracted by other sirens.

      I had the sarb035 awhile ago. I love it, but im considering this watch now, the same dark blue one you’re considering. From what i’ve read 4R35 6R15 isn’t too different. Power reserve is probably the only notable thing about it. SARB does come with sapphire but the dial isn’t as cool nor unique as this watch

    I think the numbers on the dial should have been pushed more towards the edges of the dial. The dial looks crowded. And the crown should be much smaller.

    on a fence on getting this or SRPE43J1 , SRPE43J1 is cheaper by 35% . Unfortunately , no one is selling these watches in my city so I cant really see the actual watches :S, I actually like both. I don't know if I want to pay 35% extra just to get a "limited edition" engraved on the back of the watch.

      @@Horologique By the regular version , do you mean SRPE43J1 or this one on the video? I am colorblind so to be honest , what I see is both blue (dark and light). Did you get to see both watches? I am just wondering why you picked this one. is it just because you like the light blue color more?

      @@Horologique Yea I have looked at instagram google images and youtube. Although as you mentioned the images / videos cant really show the real beauty. hoho, but anyway the price here is approximately 350 EUR (I googled the conversion rate) for this model and 230 EUR for the dark blue

      @@rickytraveldiary these are great prices! FYI I paid over 600 euros for this limited edition. Make sure you are getting your conversion rates right and that you take into account the possible import duties. But if you can have the LE for that price or lower than 400 I would definitely go for it, at that price it's totally worth it.

    I feel the lugs are too long, creating that vacuum between the strap and the case which doesn't look good. A 45mm lug-to-lug is found in many 40mm watches. I would use a nato leather strap for this watch.

    I saw someone say that these dials are not actullay textured, flat rather and just produce some type of optical illusion. Honestly when I see these macro shots It kind of looks flat to me. Anyone care to comment on this?

      Hello Jack and thank you for asking for my advice. Why would you buy a watch that you intend to wear just once a year? That's a pity, watches are meant to be worn 😊.
      To answer your question though, if you don't have a watch box I would just store it in the box it came in.

    I would rather purchase Tissot prx mint green than this one.. I don't like presage without sapphire & just regular movement in it.. the only nice thing about that presage is the dial & no more..

      It comes with this LE model, but not with the others.
      Try to get in touch with your local Seiko boutique, they might sell it, but I anticipate that it won't be cheap...

      @@Horologique Both in my opinion because quality keeps going upwards. Presage line has almost swiss luxury watch quality if not more in some cases so I expect prices and desirability going up. Let's see.

      Quality in the finish in the Presage line maybe, but the Prospex line gives you the same for twice the money as 2 years ago saldy 😔.
      Seiko have lost their way and what made them so beloved by watch enthusiasts, and as a fan of the brand I'm really, really sad about it

    I'm ok with the 4r35 from experience, but of course I'd rather a 6r15. BUT... Seiko, stop with the hardlex. A real watch has a sapphire crystal. I buy this lovely watch and get a scratch on the crystal. Well, the watch is ruined. Every time I look at the watch what is my eye drawn to: the lovely dial, applied polished markers or dauphine hands? Nope, the scratch! Package smackage. Send it to me in a baggy and put the $ into a sapphire.

      Yes, the hardlex is indeed abbig flaw. If you get scratches you can always buff them away, but at this price point you shouldn't have to

    Despite the attractive dial, this watch is overpriced. Either the movement, or the Hardlex should have been upgraded: 6R15 / sapphire. Or both.

      Yes, totally agree, those are in fact the negatives I point in the video. However I belive the 6r15 has been discontinued, Seiko now uses the 6r35

      In what way is it better then a Seiko 5 ? They have the same movement both have no safirecristal. But the Seiko 5 has a higher water resistant rating of 100m vs 50m vor this one.
      Plus the Seiko 5 cost only half the price so by right the Seiko 5 is the better watch for a lower price. But if you don't agree please share your thoughts why the Frozen Margarita is a better watch vs Seiko 5

      @@willidevegt8831 first of all there are so many Seiko 5s that we have to be a bit more specific, I assume you mean the Seiko 5kx (SRPD7XX family). I love those, I own one and have made a video about it. But they are not better than the Frozen Margarita for many reasons. Remember that I own and love both watches.
      The first is the finish, it's much better on the FM, although fully polished.
      Then there's that dial. The guilloché dial on the FM is superb, and demands a lot of work
      It's a limited edition with 2 straps included and much nicer packaging (even though I don't like the LE thing Seiko is pulling on us).
      However I totally agree that it's not worth the 600 € asking price, almost 3 times what the 5kx costs

      @@Horologique Hi guy first i want to say don't get me wrong i think it is a beautiful watch. And you liking that dial more that doesn't really make the watch better now does it ? That's more personal preference And you name here the huge price difference and that was my point calling it a Seiko 5 as it has the same movement. And calling it a limit edition that they just do for us Seiko fanboys but just think about every watch is a limited edition if you like it or not. from every watch they will make a certain amount some more some less. You like the dial so much there is the SRPE43J1 which is technically the same watch just different colour but already a lot cheaper.
      Any way you love your watch is the most important so enjoy it. have a great day and stay healthy
