not gonna lie these MREs look so good...better than school lunch
Thank Michelle Obama for that. School lunches tasted good till that bitch came along with her "healthy" lunch bullshit.
+BobDaBuilder I like the new school lunch tho, at least some of them.
Just ask your parents to buy some for you to bring as your lunch. XD
+Vibranx MRE's are not cheap lol
Literally the only thing at my school that changed was milk had to be taken at lunch, and the donuts, ice cream, pastries, that we could buy during lunch were now only available before our classes start. Most schools use a distributor and then reheat the food on site. The food from these distributors was already pretty healthy, so they didn't need to make any changes. She basically got rid of all the crap that kids could buy in a cafeteria. You should be thanking her.
Littering binge watching all these videos
Same
Littering is illegal!
Jade Wierenga literally same 😅
Same 🤩😍
My dad used to bring "rations" home for us sometime. Being a child of the 50's I sampled a lot of c-rations. (the canned stuff) in the 60s he brought home some stuff that must have gone on the airforce planes called K-rations. It was a big peel open tin that had sort of individual bars that were sort of a striped fruit jelly candy bar kind of thing. Great description huh? They were coated with sugar. We thought they were great. Have you come across anything like that?
Honestly, if I'm in a store an I see something that Emmy has done/tried I think of it as having the "Emmy Stamp Of Approval". I mean like, Emmy is so chill and not like one of those people who freaks out and is like "eew" or " never eat this, like ever". I feel like she's really honest and give good information!
Good job Emmy! I love your videos😄
I absolutely love these MRE videos and the way you review them Keep up the great work.
Me too!!!😊😄
same!
me three!! they're interesting
I agree!!!
that gum has laxative in it. I was in the army for 8 yrs and I've eaten a ton of these. after a few days of nothing but MREs you kinda need that gum. and the toilet paper is like......wtf dude lol.
I'm not sure if James had the same experience in the Army as my mother but the MRE's were usually only eaten when she had to go out to 'field' for... I don't remember how many days at a time (this was 20ish years ago and I have a goldfish memory). They'd go through training for combat related stuff so only eat the MRE's during.
Lonit Bonit its called a FTX, field training exercise. I've done those but also in Iraq I spent weeks eating g MREs. they are seriously good food. just don't get stuck with vegetarian ones.
@James Boonie My mother usually brought home extra MRE's when her training was done. I remember my brother and I eating them and enjoying them for the most part. I can't remember if we ever had to suffer through vegetarian ones, but I've never really heard good things about them.
@@FRANK45CASTLE vegetarian pasta taco sauce is the worst. Chili mac is what people kill each other for in the usfs im assuming the military is similar. Supply drops that dont get used sometimes find their way into my kitchen.
@@4touchdowns1game29 yeah for sure chili mac is a great one especially if you mix it with some jalapeno cheese. I got a buddy still in and says they have a lunchable style pizza that is highly sought after apparently. But chili mac and beef stroganoff were always safe bets. Anything vegetarian just throw the main meal away. What a fuckin waste lol.
I love how she’s explains every detail about a item 👌🏼👍🏼
I thought it was awesome that they had a poptart in the package. If you're overseas and want a taste of home from better days, then a poptart would be perfect.
+thecouchtripper +thecouchtripper hired thug... it always shocks me how our troops are under appreciated by the people they are protecting. if everyone were to "stay home and get a decent job" no one would be able to "stay home and get a decent job". these men and women make our daily lives possible.
thecouchtripper So which country do you live in? I bet it has a military to protect it, and to protect your right to badmouth them without being immediately shot.
If you don't want to stand behind the troops that protect you, feel free to stand in front of them. Maybe then you will learn to respect those who lay down their lives. Soldiers know that the freedoms they are risking their lives to protect are going to be enjoyed by ungrateful people like you, yet they still choose to protect those sorts of people.
I am a proud stepdaughter to an Army staff sergeant, stepgranddaughter to two navy servicemembers, great granddaughter to an amazing WW2 Army tank commander and to another amazing WW2 soldier. I am sister to a Navy submariner and cousin to both a Navy serviceman and to a Marine. Those are only a handful of the servicemembers I am proud to call my family.
I am surrounded by people who have put their lives on the line for people they don't even know. So, no matter what civilized country you're from, you have soldiers defending your right to be an ass. If you would like to see a soldier that doesn't defend your rights, please move to a country whose soldiers really are hired thugs, and then don't complain.
If not, man up and show some respect.
thecouchtripper I hope you're grateful for the society you live in, and that it's protected.
You are very good at describing how it tastes
My brother was in the Armed forces back in the early 90's... Its interesting to know that they are still making the blueberry Oatmeal breakfast and yes it does taste really good.. One of the few rations that I really liked that he brought home with him.
Love that the "toaster pastry" is the actual Pop Tart brand. My brother got many MREs that included a full-size bag of M&Ms. It's probably so nice to see something familiar.
emmy you should do emmy eats t.v. dinners
I am absolutely a biscuits and gravy lover & I make my own from scratch on occasion and for some reason, it was nice to see someone eating sausage gravy lol. It’s not necessarily a common breakfast food
It seems like sausage and gravy needs a biscuit.
Was JUST thinking that, haha
+veryberry39 Yes!
they had it but it's been discontinued.
+Kevin Moore no, they still make it. trust me I know
Butterfly Queen they still make the biscuit? Every site I've gone to find them at have them as discontinued....
I have a couple cases of MCW's (Meal Cold Weather) - (Minus a couple that I sent to Gundog and other reviewers) - Let me know if you are interested in doing a review of one of them. I'll send it out!
I think this is what I have available:
2 #2 beef stroganoff with noodles
3 #3 chili macaroni with beef
1 #4 turkey tetrazzini
1 #6 seafood chowder
2 #7 beef stew
1 #8 spaghetti with meat sauce
1 #9 rice and chicken , Mexican style
1 #10 scrambled eggs with cheese ,western style
1 #11 scrambled eggs with bacon pieces
2 #12 scrambled eggs with cheese , western style
+Rob Flood WOW! I would be delighted -- thanks so much -- and if you're taking requests I would like to try either the beef stroganoff or the rice &chicken. Thanks again for thinking of me. :)
+emmymadeinjapan Sounds good! I see your shipping instructions on your About page. I'll drop one in the mail!
+Rob Flood Squeee! Thank you. :)
>seafood chowder
Need otherworldly bravery to eat that, methinks.
+Rob Flood You are a legend for helping Emmy get these :)
this chick is like the bob ross of cooking
Believe it or not, Bob Ross was a drill sargent in the military
She's the home cook version of Anthony Bourdain.
I really do watch her for the same reasons too
I ❤️ how she’s so detailed on every little thing:-) she should def work for QVC or the FoodNetwork Channel 👍
I remember this channel, i use to watch it when I was young and Emmy use to do those poppin cooking.. Then i forgot a bit about it and now im like holy crap! I remember this channel! Hahahaha. Xxxxxxx
MRE tastings are hands down my favourite kind of videos! Keep it up Emmy!
I love your videos, because you always show all of the food or product you're eating and you explain in detail very well about how it tastes, the textures, and what it's similar to. Your reviews are always that most helpful and interesting to watch!
I enjoy this series. It is really interesting.
The MRE videos are my absolute favorite!
Keep up the good work Emmy!
+FueledByKass Thank you!
I'm surprised by how much I enjoy these MRE videos, but I've totally gone back to rewatch them. This one might have been my favorite because of the pop tart and velveeta. Nicely done!
I love how you talk! It's so calm and relaxing. Another great video!
never enough toilet paper
+wowcat its more like a tissue
lmao
lmao
The toilet paper included in the MRE is entirely sufficient. After eating them for a week your turd will flop out like one of the red bricks my house is made of with not much cling on but plenty of rough, sharp edges! When you see a troop out in the field, his face isn't red from sun burn, its still red from trying to push that damn brick out!
you got that right...
Is there any way to order MRE from China or Russia?! Would love to see you review those ones!
+Quang Tran I think I'm getting a Russian one soon. (fingers crossed!) I'd love to get a Chinese one. Any ideas?
I love MREs 😍 I love watching and listening to Emmy 😍 Perfect presleep program from bed.
These MRE videos are definitely one my favorite types of videos that you post ☺️
Her ending song is draw Phil naked's ending song. #neverforget
yesss lol
I'd have to put that packet of cheese in the box with the entree. (not inside the heating bag, just tuck it in the box.)
When I make Velveeta Mac~Cheese, I throw the packet of cheese in the boiling water with the pasta, let it all boil, pull it out and drain the pasta. When you snip the corner of the cheese pouch off, pour the hot cheese over the drained pasta...careful, though, it flows out a lot easier!
Damn, Debbie. Respect.
Love watching these!
You're becoming an expert on prepping these MREs. Cheers!
Out in the field it must hit the spot. Star phrase that I always look for in these videos 😆❤️.
+Yes Honey Yes Funny thing is that the Pork Sausage and Gravy is the most hated MRE when I went thru army basic
I didn't know anything about MREs until I read "Wild" a couple of years ago where the author talked about the food she brought with her during her trip. I always wondered what they looked like and yeah, they look quite boring to look at but I'm sure they must have some kind of taste.
when you're in the military what your food looks like does not matter exspecially when you haven't eaten all day and have been in the blazing heat
Yeah, they're certainly not gourmet, but after a long day of tromping I'm sure they're a godsend.
If MRE's weren't so expensive id eat them everday
just discovered your channel thanks to tastemade and I'm in love!! thank you for your comprehensive reviews and positive and respectful attitude😘
+loveandglitter19 Thanks and welcome! :)
Yes! I love these MRE videos!
Great review Emmy! Pork Sausage with Gravy is one of my least-liked MRE's, so great to see your opinion of it. Take care. KD & Crystal.
It's my favorite
Hey +Kiwi Dude! Thanks for watching! We just got a good dumping of snow, so soak up some warm rays for me will ya. :)
Kiwi Dude, hey at least they got rid of the veggie omelet.
hey Emmy, you should try to get your hands on a Spain or Italian mre!!
Definitely. Would love to have one!
+emmymadeinjapan yeah. if I get one I will send it to you
emmymadeinjapan hi
I am SOOOO obsessed with your MRE videos!!!!
I love your channel so much!! All your videos are so relaxing to me
i Love your videos
Love her videos too
+Rani Mehan 😁😁
No discredit to other, similar youtubers, but its nice to see a video thats not just the contents of the kit on a table lol
It wouldn't be a review if it wasn't tasted. Sounds like there are some really crappy YT'ers out there.
Awesome, I love your MRE videos, thank you Emmy
I love these videos Emmy! I stop everything to watch them!(:
Hi Emmy! 🙋 I'm a fan of yours for years now and I would love to send you a U.S. MRE that you haven't tried yet. How would I go about doing that?
Oh, I'd love that, thanks so much. My PO Box is 200 Middle Hwy #145 Barrington, RI 02806. Thanks again for thinking of me.
emmymadeinjapan| HI emmy I have been a subscriber to your channel for a month and a half and if don't mind me asking, how did you come up with your channel's name?
emmymadeinjapan
The gum probably contains xylitol, which does have laxative properties if too much is consumed. Some people are more sensitive to the ingredient than others.
Shwee Beez that is a good idea
DID YOU CALL ME A DORITO?
yes
XD
No! I called you a Frito!
Finally! Someone who reads the info section!
The southerner in me is dying about the fact that there are no biscuits with the sausage gravy 😂😂😂😂
I absolutely love this series
I liked this video before watching :) 👍 your welcome!
Always!
Emmy can you please please make soup dumplings in a video!! In a video...
+Emmymadeinjapan
+Marcus Brown hey i just saw you over at byron's! this is a great idea theyre so yummy
+dAfoodie101 lol yeah I like all foods lol
me too!
You are Great at explaining Emmy i love that😊
love your MRE videos! when i the new one came up it made me so happy :)
I hate how US MREs don't have tea in them, I don't drink coffee. but I drink a lot of tea.
Same
mine had tea in it.
+Austin Shook we all can't be cool like you
this is for US military not day to day tasks if your gonna die soon from starvation take this or if they are feeling really tired but you still have to be at your post have some coffe
lmao this shit is for soldiers
lol kool-aid never gives me a "throw back to childhood" as i sadly still drink kool-aid anyways :P lol i also still eat stuff like fruit roll-ups and Lunchables. its not like any of it has an age limit. :P im 26.
I can't really drink kool-aid.. I'm allergic to some of the dyes they use. ;-;
Confession: I have never drunk kool aid before
+Dylan Chew neither but I'm not American so that's why...
Hope Ellis Although I am American, I don't really like Kool-Aid. It's far too sweet and artificial but once in a while it's ok. And besides, when ever my teeth scrape each other, I can feel the artificial sweetener. Eww
I can't eat any of that stuff anymore. I had it all the time growing up now I have all sorts of health problems.
Back in the day when we were given MREs boxes because of a recent hurricane disaster strucked our city. I thought most of the stuff tasted salty, but I was grateful for these packs because we had no power, running water, and ect. They were fun to set up as a kid.
Love the MRE reviews, keep them coming.
Cheers,
Gorbag
Are these MRE's meant as one meal or a full days food?
+Josie Ella one meal
One meal for most of them, a couple countries do all day ration packs but it's really obvious which ones those are because they're huge.
+TreClaire thank you!
+Magic Penguin thank you! I wonder how they have room in their packs for all the meal packs if they aren't near their base.
Soldiers need more than one a day because they are highly active. One MRE has enough calories for one day for a normal adult. So unless your highly active I wouldn't eat them every day. When my husband was in the army he brought ones he didn't like home for me cause I like them. They are kinda expensive though, especially if you buy by the box. They are almost 10.00 a single MRE pending where you buy.
Did you call me a Dorito? Emmy, I would like to know how to send you a Military Ration, as in your Adventures, I dont believe you have had a Canadian Military Ration yet!
+Kit Irving Oh my goodness, that would be AMAZING. You can find all the information here: czcams.com/users/emmymadeinjapanabout Thank you! 😆
Perfect. It wont be for a few months, as we are hoping to grab some before our move this summer, but I will get one to you!
Emmymade, I love to watch you "eating" MRE's, which are a lot different than when I was in the Marines. You are so positive, all the time; you make my smile as I enjoy watching your videos. Brenda
Your videos are always so creative and fun to watch!
I expected actual real gravy instead of a white sauce.
Forgot that gravy is different in the US for a sec. So odd.
In the US, we have white gravy and brown gravy. They're both made like traditional gravies (drippings and bits from meat) but the white gravy includes quite a bit of flour and often black pepper. It is traditional in the south to serve ground sausage with white gravy, generally on top of a biscuit (the American breakfast variety). Probably more than you ever cared to know about American gravy habits lol
Haha, don't worry, I already knew. Thank you for the reply though. :)
+Badzeep I thought the same. I would have called that more of a sauce than a gravy. But its the same thing with the biscuits which would go with the gravy (not in this video) which I would call scones.
White gravy is milk based that's why it's white an flour is just used to thicken it.
+Paul Ellis it's still gravy just not meat based. I couldn't necessarily explain how its made since it's a meal not eaten often eaten in my house because of the fat content, even though we use gravy packets, as far as I know my Grandmother says it takes a lot of fat to make homemade or bacon grease depending. bacon grease is used a lot of southern cooking btw.
not trying to be strange, but you have great teeth. :)
Not trying to be strange, but you look especially pale beside that gentleman.
Lol
Not to be strange, but Emmy, you are on fleek..
+Jocelyn Wright well he has a point... I thought the same thing, but didn't wan't to be the creeper posting about it... ( look at me now) The MRE reviews are great, and love to watch. Especially while I'm eating, lol.
Jocelyn Wright If you are speaking to me, i was agreeing with what you said...("nice teeth") Sorry if I'm wrong, cant see all comments ATM on my phone. I can see how, looking back at the post, it looks like I'm agreeing with the moron, but no.... so far from the truth.
these are my fav vids of yours!! 🤘🏻
Love watching!
These suck when you have to eat them every day. If you don't drink lots of water with them they will "plug you up".
I ate one my husband brought home for me to try many years ago. After eating it I promptly threw up lol. He has no problem eating 2-3 a day but I couldn't do it.
+Kevin Letterman Meals Refusing to Exit.
Hahahaha yep.
Are the "gums" laxatives?
No. However, if you don't drink a lot of water when you have to live off of MRE's you will wish they were....
You're adorable.
I came across your vids a few years back watching MRE vids and then seen your bugmas vids...your pretty awesome and gutsy...good stuff!
I love your MRE videos!!
That really does seem like the wrong type of gravy to be paired with sausage... I would've thought it'd use meat based (British/Commonwealth style), or onion based gravy that doesn't have an over-abundance of milk.
It's pretty good. I'm not from the south but it's a pretty breakfast. They make the gravy out of the dripping of the sausage with flour and milk. They serve it on top of biscuits ( what you would call scones)
+R0llinr0kk3r I meant pretty good breakfast, not pretty breakfast. It kinda looks like slop, not very attractive at all but good
+GothShinobi
It's not a dish where a gravy is served along side of sausage. It's a sauce/gravy made from sausage that is seasoned with sage.
I know it's made using the juices of the sausage, it's the use of milk as the base liquid of the sauce that seems off to me. An onion based gravy can also be seasoned with sage, as sage + onion is a really good pairing for pork. If it was biscuits or white meat and white gravy, I could understand it.
+GothShinobi Look up Sawmill gravy, that is basically what this is. It is an American Southern staple with biscuits.
pop tarts r ready to eat... but r slightly under cooked and best out of the toaster. it bugs me when they have non americans taste test pop tarts without toasting them. they r so much better toasted!!
Yo, if your outside in war and your hungry, who the fuck would have a toaster.
+Sans right? No one has a fucking toaster in war lol
If your eating an MRE you won't have access to a toaster! Lol.
The best that can be done is sit it on am engine block, a hot rock or slide it into you FRH.
Bigdaddyhognuts666 Oh I'll just grab my toaster on a mission, oh wait there isn't one.
Im pretty sure she is American
Great video. I really enjoyed watching. I just gave you a much deserved thumbs up!!!!
I love these types of videos!!! 😄😊
Great video👍 if your going to do more MRE videos, you should get a rock or something😎
+delana phelps hahaha!
I'm surprised they did the sausage and gravy... without bread/roll? No one eats just the sausage and gravy!!!! Gross!! lol
Well in survival/war situation i think that is fine.
But yea i can't respond to your comment.
And it tastes absolutely terrible. Had a few of these back in training, and those were some of the more terrible days simply because the SnG MRE
Tribe Foord if it is good gravy i mean I would just eat it. or it if was the only food around (like in a survival situation) people would eat the mre
Thanks for all your videos..I have alot of MRE and now I'm going to try them all :*
Best feeling in the world, 8:22 when you predict something and it wonderfully comes true
Gd vid thx. Not only are your videos quite informative, but your presentation is mMm perfect.
I freaking love these videos!!!!!!
her voice is just the best thing ever
I'm new to the channel but I must say you are the sweetest youtuber ever and I am so glad I found your channel! I love the MRE videos and I can't wait for more! (I also love your Dango video but I'll save that for another video!
These are really neat! Very interesting
I love these videos!
Love the last part!
I enjoy these so much
your voice is so relaxing i love it
love your video's aswel
Your channel has such a ASMR vibe to it. It's nice.
I love the violin music at the end it makes me feel calm
i really enjoy your shows
I love when Emmy eats unique food items, and for many of us MREs fall into that category. Should pick some of these up...they sell them at camping stores?
Haha the endings of her videos are always my favorite 😂
This is actually one of the best MRE's in existence!
these are fun videos. Very pleasant!
That last clip with the spoon 😂 love you Emmy
This was a fun review :) Good job! Have you tried the Jalapeño pepperjack beef patty? I like that one!
your videos are making me hungry yet i keep watching and idk why
Watched this right after the French ration and visually they can't compare, though I too was excited by the Pop Tart. Amazing what childhood memories can bring into adulthood. Thank you Emmy!
Emmy is so cute, she made all the food good.
You are literally my 5 year old daughters favorite CZcamsr :) she gets so excited when you post a video that we will sit together forever and ever just clicking back and back through videos we may have missed. It's so funny, she sees your face and she knows who you are "MOMMY! It's EMMMMMYYYYY!" She'll yell. Lol. We've been watching you together for such a long time.
I would love to try this stuff on some home made biscuits. Yum!
Her voice is so soothing
