Balancing Hobbies While Working Full Time (9-5 in Tech) | Life on a Horse Farm in England

- One thing that has been missing from my life in the past several years has been my connection to horses. I rode professionally from ages 18-22 (and freelance from 22-25) but since starting my PhD, I have had to put this side of me on the back burner. But now is the time that I take stock of the things that matter to me and invest in the things which bring me joy, and right now this looks like splitting my time between the English countryside and London, trying to figure out who I am and what I want out of life while working full time, completing my dissertation, trying to maintain healthy adult relationships, etc.
As you can tell, this is just a period of discovery and transition ❤️ and I hope you enjoy following along as I figure it all out.

This is the type of video to bring inner peace and leave you smiling. I’m so happy to see you happy Kaelyn, you’re living the dream. I’m currently studying hard to be able to work remotely and earn enough to see the world and spend time with my animals when I’m home. You’ve also inspired me to take a horse riding class for fun, which is ironic because I used to poke fun at my best friend for being a horse girl when we were younger, now look at me!

My story is quite similar to yours! I was on the professional equestrian track, quit in undergrad, got back into it after college but realized it wasn’t a good career choice for me, now in graduate school and wishing I could find a way to balance my love of nature and animals with my love of the city and intellectual life!
