Jim Carrey truly embodies Jerry Lewis, I can always see how much of a great influence & source of inspiration for him in the majority of his films.
Jim Carrey wouldn't be the man he is today without Jerry's influence, that I truly believe. So endless thanks to Jerry Lewis for the pebble effects of laughter and love.
My favourite video interview of them both is when Jim says to Jerry "Hi, I'm the guy who's mother you fooked"🤣🤣🤣he didn't know that the camera was on. Absolutely priceless.

I've recently discovered Jerry Lewis. Sadly a lot of cultural stuff was missing in my childhood. But he was extremely talented actor. He played silly characters and some very serious characters. Watching Jerry now, I can see how much he influenced my favorite actor, Jim. The full-bodied atunts, the cadences and nuances used in his characters. Jim is was very much my generation's Jerry Lewis and i hope the future generstions continue to have Jerrys and Jims to bring them laughs.

I'm so glad you discovered Jerry. Jerry was an absolute genius. People have really pounded him in the ground for no reason except for what they hear on social media. Research Jerry, really research and study and you'll be surprised at what he became considering where he came from, and his life with Dean Martin which consists of a lot of lies such as Dean hated him which is the biggest lie of all.

I worked as a lighting technician when Jerry was on broadway in the late 1980's.
His humour was very different off camera and he was very bad mannered and rude to people who were not part of the film crew.
His personality changed as soon as the cameras stopped rolling.

The biggest difference between the two is that Jerry had naturally the face of a naughty boy and perfected that role throughout his career. Jim has the face and physique of an actor who could play any role, comedy (of course), action, drama, ... Because, he started his career (very successfully) in comedy, directors failed to fully explore his talent in other areas with a few exceptions, such as The Truman Show. Had I been a director, I would’ve asked him to play a Western movie, his face reminds me of Giuliano Gemma when he was young ... !

@@CC-xi5mzthats the problem. It's always what people read. Research and you'll be surprised. Jerry was a very kind and generous person. Did he get an ego? Sure he did. He earned that ego. That man worked tirelessly for himself and especially for Dean Martin. And he blamed himself for the breakup while giving Dean all the credit. I was one of the ones who believed the nonsense but I always liked him and never understood Jerry. That's when I started researching and found the truth for myself. Jerry was wonderful!!
