The church has been slack in this area. There needs to be counseling, deliverance, and healing of the abuser. I'm disappointed. He needed help, and so did she. The advice to pray and trust God is valid. However, let's do better to secure the well-being of the abused and children born in these toxic homes. Pastors, let's do better. Implement classes and more. Protect women and children until the husbands are healed.
I agree 100%. I am really saddened by the way we broach these issues. It is very shoddy, and the weight of the cause is almost always placed on the victim in these portrayals, and the perpetrator is pacified. It bothers me because there is no excuse for abuse. None. So many suffer silently, and some when they do come forward, they are chastised for "not being submissive enough" and so on. While the abuser is given a pat on the wrist because they said, "I'm sorry." No kind of accountability, and most times, the situation gets worse.
Yes my viewer I agree with you in these movies the abuser all they got to say is sorry and forgive me and everything is alright and they are back together and no discipline so i t so sad @pastorstacey5027
I so agree with you. The church assumes that only prayer is needed. Prayer is the starting point then move to psychological counseling. Sending a woman back into a toxic home b4 the man is helped is very very dangerous for the woman. A period of protective separation until the man is healed is needed. In a movie the ending can be controlled however in life many many women loose their lives. Caleb was dealing with inferiority complex. His wife was very assertive because she realized the husband didn’t know how to manage money or ppl. Never just turn over to a man b4 teaching him the necessary skills for success. The father should have done that

Truly all incurable wounds which can not be cured by the greatest physicians of the world can only be cured by the great and first most physician of heaven if only we can make our ways right with Him (God). I really do not like the way that our Christian movies handle the issue of domestic violence and abuse. This is a very sensitive issue and needs to be handled correctly. The counseling given to the wife had me very perplexed. It is almost saying that she does not have a say in how the monetary and other issues of the home is handled. She was basically told not to anger the husband...
There is NO excuse for abuse. Abuse is a covenant breaker. And requires swift intervention. Many have died because of wrong counsel to run back into an abusive environment. Please let us do better in how we educate the body of Christ on how to deal with domestic violence. Saying "I'm sorry" is not repentance. A person who is abusive needs deliverance to break that spirit, counseling to identify the root of their action, and rehabilitation (walking in and maintaining deliverance). Sometimes, that process will require the abused to be apart for some time from the abuser to ensure a person's safety. If someone is in danger, they need to be taken out of harm's way. Reconciliation is a process and requires submission to that process in order to walk in total freedom...
Let us stop this cookie cutter and shaky presentions of this issue. There are people who are going through severe abuse and do not know what to do. Praying is not the only thing one has to do. As the book of James 2:26 says, faith without works is dead. There are actions involved in what we pray for...
I'm really disappointed in this movie. Let’s do better and also point folks to resources to help at the end of the movies. Steer clear of these issues if not willing to follow through with proper and right counsel and guidance in these matters.

Lord I need repentance
In my understanding the wife is not hearing from the holy spirit thereby becoming stubborn. I don't like it. The holy spirit will always advice us in issues like such to ignore and play fool.This is practicable though many times hard but owing to the fact that obviously that husband of hers is not even born again let alone a broken man then the holy spirit steps in to teach you as a genuine child of God what to do, which is KEEP QUIET. Covering up for him each time after wards is rather a sin of deception which is totally out of it... Please oo let's get it right.
Listen not because you are a Christian every thing is ok that we're the devil is rampant to destroy marriage and even the pastor so they have to be stead fast with God so when any temptation you can rebuke the devil because he is busy so you have to be firm in the spirit of God so they will be no loophole for the devil to come through or your so strong that you can rebuke him when he try to temp you
