I'm surpised to not see Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin on the list, he goes infinite with All Will Be One
He also goes infinite with Agatha's Soul Cauldron having exiled Walking Ballista
ob is kinda limited with it's combos. All will be one and soul cauldron + ballista effects are the only ones I know of
@@Atmapalazzo he might be limited to All Will Be One or Walking Ballista Soul Cauldron but it's still an infinite combo that doesn't result in you decking out and gives all the pingers some usage
Shalai and Nalar is practically the same thing.
Is possible to get out faster because of greens ramp, is more consistent because the card you would want to combo off with it is already cards you would want to play.
Even tho not having access to white and black does hurt a lot, white sites this up with protection as well as green
Meanwhile obs consistency really relies on you getting the right cards at the right time or having tutors at the ready.
Meanwhile S&H can easily pull of these combos with the sheer accessibility its colors bring with it
Tivit DEFINITELY deserved to be on this list over things like Sharuum and Marisil. Tivit + Time sieve is a win on its own, and there are a million and one cards that search for artifacts and even put them in the battlefield
Sharuum is significantly more iconic of a combo commander, and logs puts a lot of weight into a card's legacy.
@@Atmapalazzo If card legacy is put into account then I guess that makes sense
I know of a glitched card that created infinite 0/0’s. I don’t have a single tutor because every card in the deck (Minus lands and mana ramp) is just a give every creature +1 +1 forever. And you have infinite 0/0’s, infinite etb triggers, and infinite activated ability triggers.
Search up Marath, Will of the Wild 2013
On a slightly unrelated note, it'd be interesting to see the Top 10 Cards That Got "Shadow Banned". Essentially, hated cards that stopped seeing play due to reasons other than power creep or bannings. It could be metagames warping to stop certain strategies, options being introduced that completely hose a particular card, or gentleman's agreements/Rule 0 discussions bringing up a card so often it's effectively not allowed to be played.
I know he’s “fallen off” but I’m very surprised Prossh wasn’t mentioned here. Back in the day Food Chain Prossh was the face of not just combo, but CEDH
Prosh doesn’t create infinite combos he’s just a combo piece.
Prosh as a combo piece is the value engine.
Prosh decks rarely if ever go infinite, but they generate enough value where they can easily run away with games.
As the 2 best things you can do in magic is drawing cards and getting mana.
Prosh does both for actively doing what Prosh decks already want to do.
And impulse draw has only gotten stronger over the last few years.
Experiment Kraj was missed out for sure; the guy is just a build your own infinite combo.
@@ethanhopper2467 Mairsil is also generally just a better choice, as it's able to protect it's combo pieces at the cost of being slower. Kraj is too easy to blow out of the water.
I've had a problem with the two-color partner commanders since they've been printed. Most of them are just 'good stuff' commanders that really has no focus. I get what they were trying to do but they really missed the mark by a lot. I'm glad that they've focused on mono-colored partners which they can focus of having effects that aren't just always 'good stuff'.
-While she isn't as simple to use, Breya, Etherium Shaper deserves at least a mention. She can do almost anything and has access to 4 great colors. So many card combos can give her access to infinite mana, damage, and life gain, and create infinite creatures, and tokens of almost any kind. She gets access to all the best removal, searches, and interactions. It is actually really tough to decide on a final build for her. If you gave 100 people the job of making a deck for Breya, Etherium Shaper I bet you wouldn't get a single deck that is exactly the same as another. While combo lines may be similar they would all vary in more ways than one would initially think.
-Also Kenrith, the Returned King but I just thought it was worth saying his name, I hate him... Give this man a Dockside Extortionist that ETBs for more than 6 mana and a sacrifice outlet of any kind or a composite golem and Nim Deathmantle and he can just win a game on the spot. He has access to the best toolbox ever with his absolutely absurd list of abilities.
All the ones I will list below aren't as crazy or easy to pull off but good to know for those that maybe didn't.
-Zaxara and either Freed From The Real or Pemmin's Aura Create infinite mana of any or every color with easy access to infinite draw on any x cost draw card or even access to infinite damage with x cost damage spells. Plus you have access to great searches, great interaction, a deathtouch mana dork commander, and even ramp.
-Literally, every colorless deck can run Karn, the Great Creator, and Mycosynth Lettice to soft-lock the enemies out of the game. This turns all lands into artifacts stops the enemies from tapping them for mana and limits them to only being able to attack with creatures. This also stops them from tapping everything thing they own for mana.
-Heliod, Sun-Crowned Walking Ballista, or Triskelion. This just needs artifact searches and protection which white has easy access to. Just need to have 9 mana to include at most 2 white and 7 colorless. This is pretty easy to pull off in a deck that will. rely mostly on cheap searches and mana rocks. Even if the enemies try to stop your plays you have access to nieche interaction and all the best stacks pieces to slow the game down to help you pull the combo off.
-Marrow-Gnawer and Thornbite Staff with any shapeshifter or rat and access to all the best black draw cards and searches. You just need a blood artist effect, altar of the brood effect, or with three rats you get infinite creatures.
-Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle can go infinite very easily in almost any artifact-themed deck with ease of access to artifact search cards and stacks pieces to help get to the combo as well.
-Aminatou, the Fateshifter, and any permanent that flickers instantly on ETB. All they need is either an Altar of the brood to deck your opponents. With access to white and black, this is really easy to get to, and since this will likely be played in a Flicker-heavy deck that also has access to blue you get access to the Peregrin Drake Deadeye Navigator combo. This is good because you don't have to give up slots in the 100 for otherwise dead cards since they already play into this deck theme.
Myrkul is a glpripus combo commander. The "devoted-druid-cycle" of creatures with a sac outlet give infinite mana, damage prevention or discard.
Theres a creature that lets nake a copy of an enchantment when that enchantment enters, includong itself from Myrkuls trigger, which results in any number of them in play. Pass the turn and noe you can make any number of copies of enchantments any number of times. Each turn.
And lastly, provided your tokens are tapping for lots of mana, eternal witness, or anyrhing similar, with second harvest results in infinite tokens and recursion of graveyard
Lovely commander
Could make a whole video out of the long wizard combo?
Squee, The Immortal is a nuts combo piece and value engine
Thank you for alerting the MtG community to these degenerate broken cEDH commanders. We already knew of several of the worst offenders, and this really helps fill out the ban list.
Lmao they don't even ban sol ring, the banlist has been a joke for eternity.
Amazing!!!!
i'm surprised not to see Kenrith or Niv-Mizzet on here.
Kenrith doesn’t actually have a ton of combos, he’s just an outlet for some
Edit: just got to the Thrasios one lolll, maybe you have a point. I’d like to see Nivvy on here though
Niv mizzen isn’t an infinite combo due to only being able to draw up to 100 cards meaning the combo is always finite
Naru Meha can combo with any flicker instant/sorcery, allowing to get infinite mana with flicker of fate, or draw your whole deck with blur, and it's very hard to interact because the combo happens on the stack
I think that kykar for sure must be in a top ten combo commanders
Question at 3:24, wouldn't you have to shuffle mirror-mad phantasm into your library in order to mill cards? I honestly have no clue but the words "if that player does" leads me to believe that you might not be able to mill when its exiled. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Outside of Cedh, i use Ghave. What's nice about ghave is that you can easily tune the deck to be infinite combo, token swarm, or reanimator without ever needing to to tip your hand or go 100% in any given strategy. What's useful about that for instance, is that in my ghave deck, i only have doubling season as a means of going infinite because the hate cards that interact with that route aren't generally effective against a yosei lock for instance and vice-versa.
I once let a Judge from my LGS to pilot my Ghave and he got blocked playing it, not because he couldnt pilot it but because he had wayyy to many options and he was choosing which path to take. And that is the greatest strenght of Ghave, its hands down the most flexible combo commander.
Sure its over 100 hiden combos can end the game on the spot but the difference betwen a mid Ghave pilot to a good one is that the good doesnt stay still wating to combo off but also abuse of all the other 100 sinergies that Ghaves it enables and you can easily pull out of your ass pretty damn good sinergies without anyone knowing.
The only real issue is, as my Judge found out, he is a bitch to pilot if you have too much imagination or you are too new in the game to understand how deep he is.
A semi-related video topic suggestion, but top 10 Pauper commanders that aren’t Legendary creatures.
No Mikeaus with the Mike and Trike combos?
The reason tivit is a powerfull commander, even being played in CEDH, is definitly not deadey navigator but Time Sieve, which is a 2 card infinit turn combo, for a lot less mana.
If you're playing any non-singleton format with Urza, Lord High Artificer, Nim Deathmantle is a fantastic mana sink for creating an infinite amount of the tokens Urza creates. Just have one on the field and then play another, and bend the legendary rule in your favour.
varragoth is the best infinite commander. not because he goes infinite, but because he gets you the combo pieces you need.
Shalai and Hallar is also just kind of a menace in casual tables. Win the game with Enduring Scalelord and Wildwood Scourge, a lifelink enabler and Ajani’s Pridemate-type cards, Scurry Oak and approximately half your deck (like Ivy Lane Denizen, Cathar’s Crusade, etc), and even more. It’s a crazy commander, I unbuilt the deck because I went infinite about half the games I played, sometimes on accident.
Slimefoot, the Stowaway is like Ghave, except he’s 1 Bl Gr, has 4:Make a Saproling, and is himself a Zulaport Cutthroat for Saprolings. Any token multiplier and Ashnod’s alter wins you the game, just without White.
Is the guy who's talking in the video somehow related to Saffron Olive? Pronunciation is not one of his strength :D
No Ashaya? She + Qurion (Both) + infinite creature etb/ltb battlefield, cast triggers, landfall triggers.
Who the hell could come up with this it’s way too smart
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
Siona + Shielded by Fate is amazing.
Not an infinite combo, but Fblthp. Upon playing, at least one other player falls to the floor and laughs hysterically. The others call an ambulance because they think something is wrong. While everyone is waiting for the ambulance, you already have ended your turn or priority. Then everyone else gets disqualified for stalling.
Dargo the Shipwrecker goes infinite with a whole bunch of things, and can pair with a Jeska for infinite damage in the command zone among other pairings
Ghave is an interesting take on a Planeswalker-type unit which is not actually a Planeswalker.
Dinah, Soul Steeper + Exquisite blood infinitely drains every opponent. Dinah is not usually run as commander though.
Obeka + isochron scepter + glorious end lets you take infinite turns, tapping Obeka before the loss trigger happens.
I was hoping to see Arixmethes on here given there are 2 or 3 different enchantments that all just say {U} Untap.
while not the easiest Cormela, Glamour Thief is probably my favorite combo commander. It obviously goes infinite, but the other pieces it takes to properly jailbreak the combo into infinite just makes you keep looking for more combo pieces. You need a sac outlet, you need some way to filter the mana she makes back into normal mana, you need a spell to bring back. It needs enough moving parts that the combo isn't too stale to me.
Weird to not see Zaxara, the Exemplary and Freed from the Real/Pemmin's Aura which creates unlimited mana. With that you can draw your entire deck and play a game winning spell
I was waiting for
prossh with food chain.
Or
Riku of two reflexions with palynchron
A few goblins, Ashnods Altar, and Nim Deathmantle, and a haste enabler, on the field, then cast Krenko, mob boss, infinite hasty goblins. 😂
No Selvala? Selvala has a few 1 card (besides herself) and 2 card combos in mono green. That net infinite mana, infinite draw, infinite life, infinite taps, infinite untaps, infinite etb, ifinite ltb, etc
Does Sharum actually work? Don't commander return to the command zone rather than the graveyard when they're killed?
Not automatically. If they go to a hidden zone, they may be put into the Command Zone as a replacement effect. If they would go into the Graveyard of Exile Zone, they may be put into the Command Zone as a State-based action the first time after that SBAs are checked. But both of those are up to the owner of the Commander to decide whether they want to do it. 99% of the time, you want to, because if you choose otherwise, you might lose your Commander for good. But in this situation, it makes sense to choose 'no'.
Now, there is a problem that they said Clone works. It does not. The clone card has to be an Artifact when not on the Battlefield for the Sharuum loop to work. There are several of those, but the OG Clone is not a legal target for Sharuum to return.
im surprised trazyn isnt on the isnt on the list :/
you definitly missed two big ones
ob nixilis captive kingpin and Niv-Mizzet parun they combo nearly as easy as najeela sometimes
for niv all you need "Curiosity" effect which is any type of damage will draw a card but niv deals 1 damage whenever you draw so you draw your whole deck and deal damage equal to deck size
and ob nixilis you just need all will be one which will infinite automatic but just a single damage and also with "Agatha's soul cauldron" and having a "Walking ballista" effect n it will also net infinite damage since nixilis will always reload on 1 damage
still honorable mention level type of thing nearly all the time everyone just scoops when that combo activates@@Car-rp8dg
Its not played alot but you should have mentionned Trazyn the infinite (from Warhammer 40k), its in the Name "infinite". Its a necrotic ooze for artefact , goes infinite with alot of stuff in the yeard, like any dork that tap for 2 an untapper for 1 then you have infinite mana then any artefact payoff like a balista , staff of domination, a mill engine or anything else
What about my boy Trazyn, the Infinite?
My first cEDH deck was Trazyn the Infinite. Nobody talks about it and nobody plays it
Yawgmoth despite being monoblack is still extremely strong, it can combo out of nothing with stuff like victimize or many other cheap interactions... It's simply way too easy and it has so many available pieces to do it: any creature with undying, any token-producing creature, enchantment or artifact when ltb, nest of scarabs, and a long long lists of etcs.
Not the easiest to set up but i love my kumena deck. Goes infinite with Card draw and counters in multiple ways but doesnt even need it to overwhelm anyone. They are these combos in the deck but they are optional. That are combo-decks i enjoy.
yeah make a video for inalla combo^^''
It looks like the research that went into this video is based on a dated meta of cEDH. There's way more toxic shit that sits in the Command zone nowadays.
was hoping to see Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle on the list, while he needs some pieces on board he can go infinite mana using Sol Ring. And i've often been able to produce infinite mana and have nothing to do with it.
Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle Lotus Petal and Salvager of Ruin. Congrats, you have infinite White mana.
mairsil is kinda only good at no ban list cedh
Ghave is my boy
I thin Niv-Mizzet would have been worth a mention. He’s kind of the OG.
Niv mizzet is an easy combo commander but his combo with curiosity isn’t infinite and can never trigger more than 100 times
Shilai and Halar breaks Slime Against Humanity in half
Top 10 Elves
I know every single comment is "but what about X?!" But i was dissapointed to not see animar, soul of elements on this list with ancestral statue, cloudstone curio, dockside temur sabretooth, peregrine drake etc.
Both Dina and Vito go infinite with exquisite blood
Tivit not being on the list is a crime.
Please do not sit at my table. Thank you
First! Your MTG videos always give such useful insights!
I personally would have gone with breya over sharum, has alot more combos and overall versatility.
im not sure if this title is misleading are we talking cedh? are we talking casual to high power? also thras is literaly just an infinite mana outlet he doesnt enable a combo just as jeska doesnt enable a combo. also the easiest will always be godo its a 1 card combo in the command zone every other card on here needs minimum 1 other card
I'm surprised that there is no Kiki-Jiki in this video
An episode like this is a good reason to take this channel with a heavy grain of salt. I'll still watch though.
oswald should have spot
Oh so you already hate Kinnan? Go check the art direction for him :)
no chatterfang? NO CHATTERFANG?
Any Mana making, Card Drawing, Token making, Turn taking card go infinite
Come on, you didnt include chatterfang, king of tokens.
I would like to refute your opening statement. 3 different groups I'm in all play without relying on infinite Combos. Not to say we have none, but that's not how we play or have fun.
No one should be running or allowing infinite combos, ever. If you find an infinite combo in your deck either ignore it or don't play it. The game has no place for such things
@@Car-rp8dg Not anyone I know or have played with in 27 years. No one that values other people's time and enjoyment that is.
I love your channel so please don’t take this as being mean but I hate that you spoil cards during your intro of the topic!!!
Awww no, Breya?
No respect for my boi Malcolm? If your partner deck is is red, he's able to run through a bunch of infinites kinda with no warning
No love for Tivit, Seller of Secrets + Time Sieve. Shame.
Silly little list
Better than Mairisil, sharuum, and ghave: Sisay, weatherlight captain; Tivet, Seller of Secrets; Niv-Mizzet, Parun; Tayam, Luminous Enigma; Krrik, Son of Yawgmoth; Magda, Brazen Outlaw; The Gitrog Monster; Dargo, the Shipwrecker; Jeska, Thrice Reborn; Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer; Malcom, Keen-Eyed Navigator; Kenrith, the Returned King; Korvold, Fae-Cursed King; Kodama of the East Tree; and Ob-Nixilis, Captive Kingpin
Bro forgor about time seive
Not a fan of infinite combos at all. Seems completely against the spirit of a casual format like EDH. It's too bad wotc didn't have the foresight to nip broken combos I'm the bud decades ago.
Just rule 0 it instead of restricting what people can play. Its fine if you dont like combos in your playgroup, but keep that to your playgroup and not format wide
@@sorafowler4497 It's not an issue in my play group, but if I ever went to an event it would be becuase people can't help themselves and play the most broken shit thinking it is fair because it is legal
@@brianmcevoy1990It is? That’s the point of cedh, to play the most busted shit you can obviously people at tournaments are gonna play the busted stuff that’s legal
There’s no way I could ever figure out a combo. I’m sure of it, so who is the one coming up at all these things?
What about niv mizzet drawing your deck and killing each opponent with curiosity? I’ve been killed by that one at least twice!
technically not infinite
Not infinite, and you generally can't kill the entire table doing it unless you use a Lab Man effect to outright win.
@@KromeDrone yea for me it always happened late game, and everyone’s life total was low enough that we all died
Niv mizzet has infinite infinite combos
yeah I've seen more people deck themselves with niv curiosity than win with it.
