@@stephenmassaquoi2814Way too soon for that talk. We could've had much worse buyers, if you remember the protests. In fact, the jury is still out that we got the best possible outcome from Roman getting the club grabbed away. I mean, the Anti-Glazers clause forced anyone buying to spend 1.5B anyway.

The thing we tend to forget is this isn't a ship that can't be steadied yet. It's still very early and with the correct adjustment next few windows(quality+experience where needed) and the current crop getting a bit more settled along with the coaching staff, things can get better. Football changes very quick we've seen it. Maybe the things were done too fast, but as long as the direction and decision making are correct it should turn out fine long term.
That said, the corrections have to be made. Banking on promise of potentials alone(not just the players but the project as a whole) without any hedge always has a chance to be a disaster. There needs to be a certainty. Everything at the club has a sense of uncertainty right now, that needs to be sorted. Chelsea last couple of decades has always felt certain of a European spot and trophies. That needs to be back.

I'm a Chelsea fan and this sort of thing is only going to work if we increase out revenue streams get back in to the champions league relatively quickly, which doesn't look likely. Getting rid of basically all of our experienced players and building a squad simply on potential is a recipe for disaster.

The market is what determines the price of the players and if they have the money and they really want the player other clubs will demand high transfer fees. Bare in mind Roman Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea for political (poor lies and tricks) reasons. Obviously the results need to justify the spending which given they literally brought 22+ players most are U23 it will take a full season together before there is real consistency of results that justify the spending. Thats just the reality success in anything isn't overnight
