You don't want to oil starve the engine with lateral G forces. The SxS's don't USUALLY experience extended lateral G's. Usually. Good luck with the rebuild. Love the channel.

      The only machines they don't break all the time are the general, and the krx. The only reason they don't break those is that they don't use them very often. The rs1 was the most durable machine they had until they finally sunk it and then Frankensteined it.

    • @brianadams429
      @brianadams429 Před 2 lety

      I think this new machine is the biggest pile of trash they have ever picked up. Atleast the other machines were modded as to breakage, or Cooper Spaghetti head turning the rs1 into a submarine.
      I got burned by that company so if i was given one i would sell it Immediately.
      My friend bought one polaris sxs. Engine was under the seat, it had a dump bed. Anyway it was his hunting buggy. He came home from hunting , parked in his garage, came out a few minutes later to get something out of second fridge in garage to a polaris on fire.i think was a 800 ranger.
      Anyway he took it to polaris, all the wire harness was cooked and the seat too. Polaris dealer said they couldnt get a wire harness, that he would have to buy a new machine.

      Yeah it’s too bad the Can-Am can’t make them easy to work on. Because all the times you have to work on them especially when you buy a brand new machine and the motor is blown up straight from the factory. If you don’t remember that video. Can-Am’s are even a bigger piece of crap.👎

    That is called a discus coupler. It should be full of clutches, platers and fluid. It is supposed to take up the shock between clutch and engine crank.

    Too much cyclone, will break this engine. Confirmed.
    Pushed all the oil straight to the back of the engine and one piston after the other started to heat up from the front to the back. Nice to know.

    For what these machines cost and abuse it's designed to take it should have been a dry sump oiling system in these. It amazes how Polaris cheaps out on these details year after year.

    I work on logging equipment and they all have some sort of adapter plate and coupler to couple them to the pumps that actually spin the hydraulic pumps. They are always direct drive but ive ran into 2 styles where the plate that bolts to the fly wheel will be like a polymer then a adaptor that the pump shaft slides into and splines to the polymer plate. They are a wear item generally seeing about 8k-10k before they strip out so it's direct drive but can strip if something goes wrong it can strip it out if it needs to. There's some more kinda that all accomplish the same thing like a metal plate instead of polymer with sheer bolts instead. Makes me wonder if you could do something like that where it's more of a direct drive than what ever Polaris put in that has a lot of give to it, but if something were to lock up it would strip rather than break something out. And if you would notice more power on the dyno.
