Back in di day when we lived in Kingston, we had to wake up early in the morning and do the laundry so dat di clothes could dry before night. We couldn’t leave dem on di line overnight because we wouldn’t find one piece next morning. 😜😜
My mother was a Jamaican and she had no problem washing by hand when we had no money to go to the laundromat. We did what we have to do. I still wash some clothes by hand.
I do a small business at home Debs and it has becoming at blessings to me God is great the greatest time is to stay humble and watch God work.washing with the hand is a good thing but my hands always hurt so what I did I soak my clothes in the machine from over night.
Remind me of my aunt washing in the Caribbean and that squeaky noise with the hands I love to hear. Clothes look so nice and sure dem smell nice too on the line. You are real. These modern whirlpool machines do not work properly..I purchased one last year and this year had to get it fixed..A new motor and an aturartor was replaced in it..Now it's working good...Debbs i hang my tee shirts like u,i admire u so much,no way would I be able wash those clothes at once!!I Bless.

My nan used to scrub white socks in the sink 🧦 with just her hands and some persil colour washing powder and depending how bad she would soak them in bucket 🪣 overnight in some warm water and some more persil washing detergent. When you would see these “white socks” they would be while before they even went through the washing machine which was old but they would be like brand new again 🧦😃👌🏻 I have never owned a machine or a detergent that can get clothes so clean especially dirty muddy white socks as clean as she could. Proper old school. She’s didn’t even need a machine everything would just go on a quick 30/40c cotton wash come out absolutely perfect even though she was getting on and the machine was from 1981. It was replaced in 2003 with another zanussi/Electrolux which is noisy and in a cold shed but it’s still going lol 😂 People like my nan are gone and their ways unfortunately that we can’t compete with. 💯
Yes Debs, although I have my machine I still wash some things by hand. I love to wash whether dishes or clothes, not the tough ones, its like therapy to me. We were born in the same era, we have so many similarities in the way we do things

Miz Debbs, l have had a Whirlpool washer for over fifteen (15) years and it’s still going strong, recently I have been hearing some rattling sound but not paying it any mind. I still hand wash delicate materials and dressing clothes that I don’t want to get ‘bumps’ or lint.
My washer making real noise too Ms. Debbie I still wash with it. Just not at night! When I didn't have a working machine I washed by hand too. Jeans and King sized sheets were no fun though!

That happened to my washer! It’s not balanced. I don’t know how to explain it. But the service guy game out serviced it and had to drop the legs to balance it. I have a off brand whirlpool. And I’ve had it for 13yrs. It’s older then my daughter. Lol bless Mrs. Deb!!!

Aunty Debbie 😍Samsung and LG are more higher in price and lower in quality. The best brand in my opinion is Maytag . I am Bahamian and As a child this is how we were taught to wash with our hands no washer and hang on the line to dry. I hated every bit of it but thank God for it.To tell you the truth the clothes used to come out cleaner than any machine. Maytag is the most reliable my mother had one 22 yrs I bought her a new one and took her old one to put in my home one year. They seldom break down at all very reliable. I think in 22 yrs she had the belt changed twice. If you can buy Maytag Ms Debbie it won't fail you
