Sonny Stitt Quartet - Just Friends (1972) Personnel: Sonny Stitt (alto sax), Barry Harris (piano), Sam Jones (bass), Alan Dawson (drums) from the album 'TUNE-UP!' (Cobblestone Records)
I met him when l was a young adult. I can understand why he was called the Lone Wolf. In addition to his relentless travel he was quite reserved, friendly and aloof. A loner type. That goes down as one of the best days in my life! I met Gene Ammons and Donald Byrd the next year on same night at the High Chaperell in Chicago.i feel great with the memories.
Today's Classic Jazz Corner... Sonny, from 1972! Nicknamed the "Lone Wolf", in reference to his relentless touring and devotion to jazz, and known for his 'warm playing tone', he was one of the best-documented saxophonists of his generation, recording more than 100 albums. #OdedMusic #OdedFriedGaon #OdedTodaysClassicJazzCorner #Audioded

It is a shame this album is no longer on other platforms
Happy like Just Friends can be ! ...
