    diesel, if my d e f pressure is fine and it's showing low nox conversion that goes away, after a regen, could it be that my d e f inlet filter as shown here is needing replacement because I'm getting poor d e f quality signal 3364 fmi 2?

    I thought my truck had this but it has a metering unit. Do you have any tips for cleaning a metering unit on a later model truck?

      +letsgo243 I don't work on metering units much anymore but I'm trying to get something together.

    Do you have part numbers for the service kit?

    • @TheDieseler
      @TheDieseler  Před 6 lety +2

      In the video, I don't show a lot of it, but I'm installing an "RS Supply Kit". It also consists of a DEF Filter, DEF Pump inlet fitting/screen and DEF Pump Pressure relief valve/Plug. I believe the part number for it is A0001408678. If you just want what you need to change the Doser inlet screen, the part number should be A0001401494.
      As always though, I'd recommend contacting a Detroit parts dealer with your VIN/ESN to make sure you're getting exactly what you need.

    You did not show the mounting gasket proper installation orientation. The new gasket has 4 small protrusions sticking out on the same side as the gold lettering which is shown facing up in your video. The old gasket e help!either one, so I'm not sure how to install the gasket properly. Please help!

    How would you know that dosing unit bad and needs repair?

    • @TheDieseler
      @TheDieseler  Před 6 lety +4

      +Bad Guy A DEF quantity test is most often used to see how well a Dosing unit is performing. During the test it needs to inject a specific measured amount of DEF or it fails.

    How the hell do you stop the flow of Def after you disconnect those lines?

    • @TheDieseler
      @TheDieseler  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The lines are basically siphoning DEF out of the tank. New DEF lines come with plastic plugs installed in them to keep debris out. I usually keep a few different sizes on hand to plug lines while I have components removed. You can also disconnect the suction line from the DEF tank to stop the siphon.

      @TheDieseler I was thinking about that, but haven't disconnected from the tank yet. Thanks

    Please say what year and engine in your videos for clarity. Thank you. Not all are the same.

    • @TheDieseler
      @TheDieseler  Před 4 lety +1

      This video is on the airless dosing unit so it obviously began with GHG14 engines. It has not seen any real changes since then.

    • @marlonmoore5000
      @marlonmoore5000 Před 4 lety +4

      TheDieseler it isn’t obvious to someone who is just learning the names and part locations of the system. Some don’t know the difference between EPA07/10 or GHG14. How would a new Owen operator, like me, know that GHG14 is airless if he owns a 13 cascadia? So he’d be watching this video and would be looking at unfamiliar parts. Now if you titled DEF injector first GHG14 or put the year in the title, it would bring clarity to someone who don’t know as much as you do.
