Over two years ago, I posted this video for all to see and to hear. I just watched it again and each time I watch it, it inspires me to keep my head and to keep on keeping on. Thank you Mrs. Angelou and Mrs. King.
I re-enacted this for a public speaking class. I today am still moved by this and the memory of that moment in a diverse class of students that were so kind and overcome by what I was told was not an imitation but something genuine and respectful to both these women. Thank you Mrs King and Ms Angelou for being two of my heroes. Thank you for your Divine Works here in Earth.
Destined sisters, were seperated now rejoined in Heaven... 10 years has passed since Coretta Scott King passed away and 2 years since Maya Angelou passed.........
Thank you for posting this incredibly moving eulogy. Peace & Justice should belong to all people, everywhere, all the time. Amen sister and may you Rest in Peace Good Lady.
Ms. Angelou is more than amazing...her words though not in the form of a poem is sooo poetic...it infuses my inner being and makes me want to go out and make a change!!
I love this lady Maya Angelou, she went through so much, this was one of the best funeral,I've seen on tv,I wish she would have live to see the first so call black president,he isn't the first black president and want be the last.Yoland died right after her mother, so sad
The most tragic thing of all I saw with Corretta King's funeral was that her last sights in this world were seeing the disenfranchised being ignored once again in the city of New Orleans. I was here, watching that neglect as she lie dying. God bless her soul, and that of her husband as well. Let Justice roll down is the best memorial we can give to these two wonderful human beings ....
@mrbrandon71 You understand nothing. Why would you use your time and energy to disrespect someone - ANYONE - whom you do not know and whose story you have not bothered to learn? That makes you ignorant and shameful. How sad.
Maya had a way with words! Beautiful speech. Rip to both ladies!
