dude you are the only one around all CZcams that showed the real repairing. and not just "removing" the panel.
    thanks.

Excellent. Volvo MD wanted €650 to repair (won't go into what they wanted to do!) using this UTUBE Video job done in 90 minutes plus 2 euros for piece of metal 25mm wide 3 mm thickness . U bend inside Gap 23.5 mm ,legs 20mm. Chamfer lead in edges. Well done you guys saved me a fortune.

Thanks snakeil, the perfect "how to" in the perfect moment: I broke handle a couple of week ago and I didn't know where to put hands. Five minutes ago I've finished the job and handle works again. Thank you!

I just applied your solution and the door handle is working again. Let’s see how much life we get out of it.

I used your video to fix mine. I used aluminum I pulled out of an old computer power supply instead of steel; much easier to manipulate. Added JB Weld epoxy to be sure it stayed in place. Thanks for the vid and the link to the part if the repair doesn't hold.

Thanks for that tip. Similar problem happened on my totally unrelated 99 Mitsubishi, pushed the window down switch and the switch assembly went down into the door panel. I'll get the panel off and come up with a similar fix.

On my 2007 Volvo V70 I fabricated a C clamp from aluminum bar stock. I used a 1” wide by 1/8” thick aluminum bar. The C clamp dimensions I used were 23.5 mm clear between the 2 vertical legs and 20 mm for the length of each vertical leg. The clamp fit very nicely around the door pull to cable connection similar to the steel clamp used in this video. I then used duct tape to keep the aluminum clamp from falling off. So far it is working like a charm! Thanks for your video post.

Thank you for this! Just had my window repaired, was stuck down, got it back from them with a broken door handle. Sheesh! I’m fixing it myself.

I'm wondering if I can just remove the door handle assembly from the back door and use it in the front. They both look the same...yes I know my rear door won't open from the inside but at least if swapping them out works I won't have to roll my window down everytime

This guy may be onto something! I'll test this out and confirm. If all else fails, will probably just replace the part.

Depends on your year. Mine's a 2002, so this would've fit. Half hour of work was more fun than spending any money, but this is the fix if/when my fix fails. www.ebay.com/p/Interior-Door-Handle-for-2001-2007-VOLVO-V70-2001-2009-S60-Front-Driver-Plastic/2100924425?iid=351462215406
