  • He has been called the quiet or silent Don. According to a write-up on a book cover about his life, he was “secretive-even reclusive-Russell Bufalino quietly built his organized crime empire in the decades between Prohibition and the Carter presidency.”
“…Bufalino made his mark as one of the most powerful and low-profile leaders of the American Mafia in the mid-20th century, undoubtedly inspiring more than one fictional adaptation of his life.”

glad you did Bufalino. I enjoy the Irishman very much, but understand there's a lot of fiction in the film. I must say watching DeNiro, Pacino, Pesci & Keitel all together in that film is Epic!!, with Pesci's portrayal of Bufalino being the stand out role _ Low key and hardly any rage, but you just always knew the Power behind the gentle demeanor .

You should read the Book, it was dictated to the Author by Frank Sheeran himself and approved by the Bufalino family. The Author is Charles Brandt. I gotta warn you though, after you read it you won’t think the movie is all that hot as little Bobby De Nero playing 6’4” Frank Sheeran is rather ridiculous.
