This guy is good. Foreign accent is easily understood. Drew a complete floor plan in 3 videos and now drawing elevations in 2 videos. Floor plan not to US standard {no closets in bedrooms and 3' counter tops instead of 2' } but the concept is exactly the same. Thank you SorceCAD.

Use Xline instead of Line when referencing the different parts of your drawing. That way you don't have to continuously zoom in and out; You also draw 2x faster that way.

I personally convert each elevations into a block (may it be in the main dwg file or xref). This way, the drafting can be messy with all the projection lines but the elevation blocks are copied to a separate location in the model space where it is rotated and aligned to view. There are other ways obviously, its just the way how i do it.

Great video but i have one minor gripe. Coming from a construction background, the ridgeline of the main roof would be higher or even to the gabled roof section that comes out over the front entrance. Just a simple change. I can say from experience building homes that that kind of design will tick off any contractor. Especially framing workers.

Hey, Craig. I had the same impression, as I have now been in the construction trade, plans examining of the building codes aspect, and now in architectural design throughout my life. I think the basic concept of AutoCad is what the author is trying to convey here, and the actual procedure and field concept he's leaving to the expert designers and builders, is all. Anyway, that's my take on it. I've learned a great deal from these videos that he does, and I realize that the practical implementation of his design won't necessarily transfer to real field conditions in all examples. But, he gives us some great tools to work with. Hey, I hope you do well in your endeavors!
