- This was our final rehearsal for the World of Dance Season 3 World Finals. This routine has gone a long way since its inception. Originally, we wanted a diverse, pure-Filipino theme with different "tribes" that would represent the different sectors and regions of the country, united in one dance. However, production wanted a different direction for the team and look altogether. We managed to convince them to have at least a "revolution" vibe to which they agreed and still retained the nationalistic colors of our flag on the costume. It turned out to be one of my proudest moments in my career despite everything.
I also just wanted to point out the intricacy of this choreography (better seen in this rehearsal video), and hope that our audience would appreciate every detail that was put into this piece.
Our World Of Dance S3 journey may have ended on the grandest Finals stage of all, but I honestly believe that this isn't our destination rather a stop over to prepare us for great things ahead.
To all the World Of Dance Finalists, it has been an honor to share this stage with you. You are indeed the cream of the crop and we are proud to call ourselves part of this group. To all the World Of Dance Season 3 judges: NE-YO, Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, thank you for always pushing us beyond our limits and always inspiring us and appreciating where we came from. To all the WOD S3 staff and team Nappytabs, thank you for always taking good care of us and for showing us what real professionalism looks like. Working with legitimate Hollywood people definitely put us in a higher caliber than we can only imagine before.
To my assistant coach, and chaperone head, Rick Basilio, and "Kuya" Niko Francisco, thank you for all your efforts, patience, criticisms, support, and grit. All of our mini victories and failures, arguments and sleepless nights, buffet and breakfast runs, road trips and gruesome planning, countless hours of looking out for each kid, and most importantly our friendship have helped all of us to get to where we are now. I'd say all of that in itself is a victory.
To our parent-chaperones, Tita Anna Michelle Uy and Tito Jay Maneclang, thank you for your efforts on looking out not only for the kids, but also for us ('coz we are kids at heart too)!
To all our family, friends, old and new fans, our UPeepz family back home who are our best supporters, THANK YOU.

i honestly liked the rehearsal more than the actual performance
yeah I believe its from the camera angles they broadcast on the TV because rehearsals always looks better than the actual performance. Now imagine if it was in real life, truly amazing

Why does this make me sad? Well, that's TV for you. Production usually (maybe always) goes for something that sells. They probably wanted VPeepz to stick to the image they have (which the show created for them). The show probably also didnt want another team going for a "nationalistic" theme. Sad that this team got the short end of the stick. VPeepz and their behind-the-scenes team deserve better.
I would want to see how that dance would look like! Sure would be fire! 🔥

Also, did they chose your costume for you? It looks the ugliest among your all costumes this season.
People commenting, “You should add more tricks and stunts!” I disagree. Their fresh, precise and synchronized dancing is their biggest asset, which will set them apart from the others. We are proud of you no matter what! Surely, your WOD appearance will open a lot of doors for you internationally!

Their WOD journey was the reason why i've met and adored Heart Uy, hearing of her passing earlier was incredibly hard for me and for my fellow dancers here in Zamboanga to grasp. Such talent, determination, and passion taken so early, she would have done more and more amazing things. Rest in Peace Heart, you're in safe hands now. 🕊️

@@chipsbeltran -- A follow-up question: At what stage in the competition did the WOD production team exercise "veto power" over your planned theme / design / concept for the performance -- just at the World Finals stage, or even in earlier stages?
Leo Cloma good question. Ofc there always has been debate as to concepts here and there but we knew it was always for the better. However, it was the finals week that we had the biggest compromise.
@@chipsbeltran -- Interesting and insightful. I know of another performing group from the Philippines that competed internationally a few years ago and their experience was generally the same as yours -- unexpected "meddling" and "vetos" from the production team that only increased as they came closer to the final round. Their last performance was unfortunately a mere shadow of their original plan (also Filipino-themed, coincidentally).
This seems to be the case for all competitions produced for major national or international TV broadcast and syndication -- I don't suppose the HHI or WSB organizers, for example, even care or would have the bandwidth to pre-screen performances in this way, right?. But that's Hollywood for you -- you take the good with the not-so-good!

It was a complicated Finale, mainly against The Kings and Unity LA, but I think everyone was way underscored, and you guys deserved at least 3rd place with a score above 96.
At least World of Dance presented you to us, and now you have a lot of fans throughout the world, including me. Continue to do this amazing job and inspire the next generation into dance! Thank you!

Saan na kaya tong mga bagets na to. Ang husay nila on the world stage. Baka mga graduates at professionals na mga to with their respective careers after 4years. I loved watching them 4 years ago on YT during the pandemic, naaliw ako sa moves nila and still do now.
To give you a general idea:
Heart is leading the current roster o vpeepz now.
Darlo, Liam, Ged, and Sean are junior choreographers now of upeepz, the upper team. They are in college and working.
Julian quit upeepz and wanted to pursue dance somewhere else.
Jelo is currently in up streetdance. Since it is a varsity, they can’t join outside groups while in the up system.
Felicity and Penelope are in college. Still active in the team and helps the team out.
Julio, Mico are both team captains of our current vpeepz varsity teams.
Sophia is now a member of a girl ppop group and wanted to pursue her career as an artist.
Charles is now pursuing other passions and still studying but is still part of the team.
