UNMIL Road Safety Walkathon 2016: SPEED Awareness Campaign

  • UNMIL Road Safety Week hosted twice every year was climaxed with a Walkathon in Congo Town, Monrovia on November 20, 2016.
    The Walkathon that started off at Winner’s Chapel junction was led by the Director of Mission Support, David John Penklis including UNMIL Military, Police and Civilian staff and along with the Liberia National Police band.
    DMS Penklis, said, “Every year there is so much road accident in all of our countries. We have so many friends, family and everyone is affected by road accident. So today, we walk to remember those that have had accidents and remember everyone who drive or to drive safety”.
    In observance of the day, a minute of silence was observed in memory for those that had died in accident.
