I just saw on the Metalheadz channel that the original wav file doesn't have vocals, so neither does the remaster! A shocking revelation because I love them too!
Loved this when I heard it on Platinum Breakz II 23 years ago and will probably still love it 23 years from now. The progression in this tune is amazing. Nowadays, who would dare to introduce a vocal only after over 4 minutes?! Timeless
That swirling, breathing reverb baked into the drums really puts this over the edge. All the other noises almost sound like they're being wrung out of the beat itself.
Wow - what a tune ain’t listened to it in years, someone needs to recreate speed on a Thursday night, what a place locked inside my memory forever, so grateful I had the chance to experience it!!! Yes -!LTJ and Fabio and many others legends, my people!🤔!!!!
i dont get how people can claim to like genres like Jungle/D&B and feel some type of way about sampling. Its the foundation of the music. This music was all about vibes.
I remember Goldie saying that about him and thinking what does he mean by that? Then I hear he made this when he was 17. Now I'm like I get it he was the young great new hope of dnb/break beat.
***** A million times better than the crap he (and the other oldskool Jungle kingz) makes these days with Wickaman & that vocalist! I like to pretend modern DnB never happened LOL!
This is one bad fucking tune!!! I got this on platinum breaks but the first time i heard this was in the blue note at hoxton sq. Metalheadz sunday sessions.... it blew my mind.... Those were the days man. one!!
frikin`awyea , straight oldschool jungle from the golden ages , wicked tune , i soo luv it, i just discovered this last year got me so surprised , this belong to us the old jungle listeners!! 10 k`s 4 posting this !!!
Even if the sample is straight outta cd, it takes a lot of vision to use it to such depths. Really before u start making music you think, 'oh its a sample, easy...' but truth is doesnt matter how good a sample is, youve got to make it yours, and create a track. Especially in a tune like this
I'm not judging it by its pulse. But this track is mostly consisting of other drumming techniques that are off balance. But I like the feel of the bass.
+Lee Drewitt Actually you're right, the drums are pretty simple, pattern & cuttage wise so I'd call this DnB too. DnB with drums that lean toward the Jungle side rather than standard 2-step drums or 1 bar loops.
Beautiful feel. Much better than his post 90's tunes, or virtually anybodies post 90's tunes for that matter LOL. I hope the pads were his idea and keyboard-work, and not just a sample CD job, cos they bring the track to life proper, you get taken away.
@automap it's actually very normal I find myself that tracks with melodies built by the artist/composer are way better then tracks that use pretty much just samples
Ha ha now thats the talk of a pair of producers :) I too have read about some disappointing sampling. However there are many ways you can see it. If a track is a complete sample job, thats no worse than using a load of 'clean' presets from VSTs etc. If the artist has crate digged and found a sample that is reiterpreted creatively then I dont mind as much. Given the latter would involve more work. Fair comments though and I miss the Golden era too. Try artists like Paradox, Seba, Solar, Nucleus.
@futurepast1 This is true, it dont matter whether you smoke weed or binge on wife beaters or your a dirty coke-head who takes lines off toilet cysterns, its a masterpiece of spine tingling sonic junglist mystification.
Word. I get goosebumps when the vocals slip in near the end.
This tune is eternal.

One of the best drum n bass tracks!
This has stood the test of time as my favorite D n B tune, crisp drums. dubbed vocals and lush pads. unbelievable.
Beautiful tune. ❤️
He was 19 when he made this one!
+MemoryLaneCinema wow!
hard to believe
Rumour has it he had a lot of help/babysitting in the process though.. Same with Your Sound
rumous has it that Elvis is still alive.
Didn’t you know time and age is a scam

i find it implausible that 5 people could genuinely dislike this.
probably bad speakers :D
Goosebumps and chills throughout but especially when the vox kick in.
That swirling, breathing reverb baked into the drums really puts this over the edge. All the other noises almost sound like they're being wrung out of the beat itself.
This song never gets old. To me, this drum and bass track brings about the same atmospheric vibe as “Hot Stuff” from Roni Size.
Hot Stuff is hot stuff.
even in 2020......a different tune. unclassifiable and timeless
I get chills right in the beginning when the song builds up
+Ominiumshadow24 I hear u!
This really is a work of art!
Wow - what a tune ain’t listened to it in years, someone needs to recreate speed on a Thursday night, what a place locked inside my memory forever, so grateful I had the chance to experience it!!! Yes -!LTJ and Fabio and many others legends, my people!🤔!!!!
Intricate and wonderful layering!
light & darkness. I've got so much love for this tune.
i dont get how people can claim to like genres like Jungle/D&B and feel some type of way about sampling. Its the foundation of the music. This music was all about vibes.
Preach man
What you mean by that? Not sounding disrespectful
Are you from Carolina?
@@midin.midiout He's saying you don't really love dnb and jungle if you are against sampling because its a key part of the genre
I could listen to this tune everyday... Love it 💣
beautiful tune
lovley tune.... really chilled and hypnotic
Brilliant build up to the song... how it finishes is intense... one of my fav DnB songs period...
J Majik is a legend
Everything on Metalheadz was amazing.
Back then he was great, and young too. Metalheadz=Every Track a Classic
J Majik one of the best producers in the history of drum n bass
I've got this on white label so I didn't know what it was called for a long time. Still so beautiful 🔥🎧🙏
Timeless track !! btw i remember reading that Sade was sampled in this track .
The Luke Skywalker of break-beatz.
This is when D 'n' B was at it's best.
I miss those days.
I remember Goldie saying that about him and thinking what does he mean by that? Then I hear he made this when he was 17. Now I'm like I get it he was the young great new hope of dnb/break beat.
@@ronniepassley4156He produced Your Sound when he was 17....not this one.
Damn this is 🔥 P R O G R E S S 🔥

was just digging out some old cassette mix-tapes my mate made me in '97 and was so good to hear this one again ;) nice one!
Everyone was sampling back in those days. It’s how this music was born...
Tune :) i remember buying platinum breakz II when it came out, good times
this music delivers me to the edge of space!:D
all about the vocals at 4:15
The vocals work nice on this tune but it's the beat and melody that marks this tune above so many others.
omg this is hilarious tune!!! big up for uploading
Beautifull music
Beautiful
This is the bomb-diggity sir!

with me @ 12 inch since a decade, such a great tune from different era of dnb
Agreed my friend.
pure class
Over reverbed but in a good way, like you sitting at a corner and watching other people dancing.
unbelievable how good this guy used to be....
Truly first rate tunage.

i dont care if its sampled or not if i like it i like it

killer track
I love the vocal only after 4mins of playing
billbeanhat . .
you my friend are sooo correct. Back then the Metalheads crew, LTJ, Adam F were defining D 'n B.

Awesome tune. Really tight and smooth. Would go well mixed with some LTJ style Liquid DNB.
damn

REAL Jungle...
+ncshuriken not Jungle! drum and bass!!!
Lee Drewitt
I'd call this Jungle, not DnB.
+ncshuriken no i think not
+Lee Drewitt an i dont see anyone else calling it jungle!

@ncshuriken rither way, he created a masterpiece
To all the sample bashers...
Don't sweat the technique
LOL, he did
I dont think its silly, lets hope this is an example of a fully original track!

@ncshuriken Couldnt have said it more poetically myself, I can see by the use of your words that you dont sample, not even random noizes of the world?
What about, You dont know,,,,Deadly deep subs original and Got to/threshold ?
