Zidane for me is the best all round midfielder I have seen in 30+ years of religiously watching football, however when you compare what Zidane was doing at 20 to what Bellingham is doing at 20 it is frightening. Zidane was starting his first season at Bordeaux. He didn't become a regular for France until he was 22, didn't move to a top tier league until he was 24, and signed for Madrid when he was 29.
Bellingham isn't 21 until next June. When the last ball of this season is kicked he will still be 20. He has the potential to become an all time great. Will he reach the dizzying heights of Zidane? Only time will tell. But he has every opportunity to do so and is way way ahead of schedule

Bellingham's advantage to Rooney & other English talents is how he's raised & his family being involved. I doubt we'll see Bellingham look for alcohol to escape the pressure, Rooney was hard working like Bellingham but vices, same for Gascoine made them never reach goat level. Bellingham, like Vini, Camavinga, Tchouameni & most Real Madrid young players follow the Cristiano Ronaldo route of personal trainer in personal time, personal dietician & all sorts of actions that made his life off the field be optimal for on field performances.

He’s an unbelievable player but not the worlds best, but he will be I just hope we don’t try pin him down in the CAM/10 role. He’s way too dynamic, athletic and influential all over the pitch. He should be playing a box to box role with rice sat next to him and madders/foden/Jack in front. He would dominate all the big games for us which for years we’ve come up short in the middle of the park. Yes he scored goals, he will always score goals wherever he plays because he has that desire.

It’s a strange mentality that we have in England. When we have been beaten by Germany, France or Italy in the past and our England teams have been poor those countries do not make the excuse that they have beaten a poor England team, they simply say we have beaten England. Why is it when we defeat a major football nation it is always with the caveat “oh they’re not very good at present”. Simon Jordan is a prime example running down Italy and how poor they are. So blooming what; England won and beat a major footballing nation by three goals to one. Well done England and to Simon Jordan and the other negative armchair critics who gives a jot how good Germany or Italy are currently because those countries are never bothered about how good we are. Maybe just maybe England won last night because they have better players and are a better team than Italy!

Don't get too excited, that was the worst Italian team I've seen in decades of watching international football. They are so toothless in attack the biggest shock of the game was that they managed to get a goal. There is no way Italy would have got out of the last 16 in the tournament they beat us in the final with that team and I am not confident they will make it to the Euros if it comes down to the last game where they will play Ukraine away. England will have to beat far better teams than that to win a competition and the players will have to prove they can step up against far better players than that in high stakes, high pressure games you face in the main competition which these players including Bellingham have yet to do. The only player who has proved he can do that was not even in the squad. No Raheem Sterling. Tired of all the noise about Harry Kane's records. I'm not interested in Kane breaking records, I want him to show up in the biggest competitions as that is the point of the game. If he does not do that the only person he is serving is himself and there is nothing great about that as it means all he does is perform against poor teams. You have to make up your mind on whether you want England to win a competition or if you want a white player to break a record, because I know what your answer with no uncertainty would be if we were talking about a black player. I'm not interested in Kane breaking records if he does not show up for the big games that would help us win a competition and so becomes one of the reason we lose against big teams and don't win anything. It's concerning that the best teams always seem to be able to mark him out of the games. Peace and love
