- Yesterday was the day for Bassets Hounds spa day! There’s nothing quite like Basset Hounds! Dogs full of love, curiosity, energy, and lots of wrinkles! This made me cry. I had a Basset girl who was breeding stock at a puppy mill. She loved my wife and I but was scared of other people. I was so proud to give her a good home for the last ten years of her life.

Not surprising when we see how we treat babies in the womb human babies too just know no sensitivity and a lot of people God bless you. We have a sweet Bassett in our family to also rescue

I just dread to think how many litters those beautiful dogs have had - judging by their teats - way, way too many. What on earth can be done to shut these dreadful puppy mills down?

People have to stop buying from pet stores and online from the wrong people.
Only people can stop it by stopping buying pups :(
I know... So sad & pathetic😢. Poor babies teats were on the floor... Money makes people do evil things. These precious babies will have a good life now!
People need to adopt not buy dogs. That way the profits dry up and dog who need homes any can get them.
And as far as the people who run puppy mills... lock and load.
Those poor puppies, l looks like they’ve had way too many babies (evil people in this world).

I've got an 8 month old basset puppy. I burst into tears watching this. I hope they recieve everything they deserve and more in their new lives. Gorgeous dogs. ❤
I can’t type this without crying. I took her through a rescue of a puppy mill Jack Russell terrier. These dogs live in horrific conditions and they’re just used. More often than not they’re not broken though. With enough love and fostering and care they come back to life. And they’re so full of love you have no idea. But it takes a physical toll on these dogs. They need to be on Mills simply that’s it there should never ever be another puppy mill in America or anywhere else
Bless you and your organization for rescuing these precious dogs. It's time to put their breeding years behind them for good.💕💕💕
Bassets are so trusting & friendly, mine would show you where the hidden spare house key is if you gave him a pat.

Thank you for the wonderful video. It brought back some sweet memories for me. My best dog ever was an ex puppy mill Basset Hound. My senior year of high school, I was working in a feed store in rural Northeast Ohio. We routinely took in stray cats and dogs to rehome and it was not unusual to have a farmer drop off a bunch of puppies. One day, a very posh suv pulls up, and this yuppie lady proceeds to unload a sweet little basset hound from the cargo area. The chick then proceeded to tell me that "this is Betty Lou, she's a two year old Basset." I asked about shots, papers, etc. and was taken aback when she replied that she'd destroyed the dog's paperwork, since she'd been told the dog could not be bred anymore. Mind you, Betty Lou was only about 2 and already had a couple litters! She hands me the leash, gets in the car, and drives off, with nary another word. (I wrote down the license plate number and gave it to a couple humane groups, but they couldn't or wouldn't do much. I learned later that she had some friends in those groups who vouched for her. )
Betty Lou was dangerously underweight, passing blood, and needed de flea'd and wormed. I bought her shots, got her license and took her home with me that day. She house trained herself, and would mimic the word "out" as only a hound dog can, anytime she needed to go. She was sweet, intelligent and got along with every animal we had. (She'd wash stray barn kittens and nursemaid them. I guess she never lost her momma instinct.) Been years since she's been gone, but I am still a confirmed Basset hound fan.
This make me cry bassets for over fifty years never a mean bone thier body...just love

I'm crying my eyes out... These three babies are so precious! My son had three Bassetts Lucy, Hazy poodle and, Zeus each one of them were so unique..
Lucy would pose for pictures with glasses on after she had her bath from the groomer... Zeus was so sweet a rescue Mr. Talker and, Hazy poodle she was just a little fur bunny chased rabbits never got one.. I miss everyone of them so much! Thank you so much for being so good to them.. Dogs are such a gift from God...❤ 🐕

Aww...they deserve all the warm baths for the rest of their lives... precious sweet Mama's they are. Tears welled in my eyes seeing the love shared while she was getting her bath, how she just wanted to melt as she probably most likely never felt it before. A very tender moment. Not all bassetts hate baths . My boy Gizmo when i tell him it’s bath time he goes and jumps in the tub waiting for me . Gizmo too was a rescue dog

Have always loved Basset Hounds and their sweet expressionistic eyes. The groomer is wonderful and she loves what she does. The kids on the head says it all. Dogs know. Cried for most of the video. So tender to see.

I sure wish we could close them permanently and start prosecuting people who mistreat animals and give much more severe punishments to try to deter animal abuse.
As long as there is a demand for pure bred dogs or specific breeds of dogs, someone will keep breeding them. I had a Basset Hound growing up, and as an adult an English Foxhound. Both were named Princess (I didn't name them). Princess the English Foxhound was given to us at 4 months old by people who didn't do their homework and wanted a little dog. That she was not! Lol. Both breeds look similar and have similar (good/calm) temperaments and are smart dogs. Watching this brought back some memories-🥴

He was the mascot of my neighborhood, he brought a smile to everyone we walked by.
I can’t imagine how anyone could mistreat these beautiful doggos.
I grew up with Bassett hounds. My parents got our Katie for me on Christmas when I was 8 years old. She was my best friend, as I was shy and we moved alot. In my teens we had Jake and Elwood 🕴🕴 Bassetts are such sweet, mushy, loving, gentle dogs. ❤

This just made me want to cry, the look in their eyes I can only imagine what they have experienced. I wish I could take one of those beautiful mamas. I don’t understand how and why people are so cruel and evil to animals but I am glad they feel love now. I pray they all find good and loving homes and never have to be afraid and be made to have puppies over and over again.
Mankind created dogs to fill many needs for us. We bred them to be loyal and trusting. We owe them our best.

This breed of dog is so compassionate. Just a all around good family dog. We had male named Hommer, he was such a joy to have coming up as a teenager.
