We've all had it. I once scratched a double glazed conservatory door while trying to clean off a blob of multi. Was a brand new unit. Had to pay for a new pane and having the unit regassed. Lesson learned, I take a LOT more care in prep and sheeting up now. As you say on the vid, this is also why we have liability insurance. Customers calm down instantly when you say your insurance will sort any issue that has arisen in my experience

Hi Stew, I removed a wooden fire surround to skim the walls and stood it up out the way, didn't want to lean it against the wall, whilst I took photos of the job
then I heard a bang, turned around and the surround had fell onto buckets and tools putting deep scratches into it.
I offered to take it home, fill the scratches and spray it for them, which I did and they was happy that it looked better than it did originally. Time and money I could have done without. im more carefull now though lol.

    Great video mate!
Might be a daft question but, as a plasterer if we decide to change the radiators and cause a flood, would we be covered for that? As plumbing isn't our trade so wasn't sure if insurance companies would cover you?
    Cheers

Don't think basic liability insurance covers flooding for spreads, double check your policy

as a heating engineer we always get jobs to remove rads for plasterers. loads of plasterers just tell the customer they need a plumber in to remove and then come back and re-fit after decorating is done. i wouldnt be messing about with that if i was a plasterer.

@@Jake-yy9fg messing about it might be, but as a spread I don't charge enough to replace carpet or fancy wood flooring if a leaking valve goes unnoticed over night, or possible air in some systems, or pressure drops, don't want to be called back to a plastering job because the customers heating isn't working, whether it's your fault or not, I'll keep getting them to call you if that's ok?😂
