- Enchanted Forest of Light returns November 20, 2022-January 8, 2023, and is an interactive, nighttime experience unlike anything else in Los Angeles, featuring a one-mile walk through unique lighting experiences in some of the most beloved areas of Descanso Gardens.
Popular returning favorites include an entire town of magical “stained glass” creations built in the Rose Garden by contemporary sculptor Tom Fruin; sparkling geometric installations from HYBYCOZO on the Main Lawn; Flower Power on the Promenade; and exquisite lighting effects in the Ancient Forest.
Enchanted is a rain-or-shine event. Tickets are non-refundable, have timed entry, and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are not sold on-site.

The food last Descanso is always really good. I would recommend going to the booth up front, or the physical walk up restaurant window near the exit and restroom for the best food!

Descanso is so relaxing! You could spend hours there during the day.
LOOOOVE this video! Thank you for doing this exhibit justice...I was able to go twice last year, and plan to do the same this year. In your video, I didn't see the large moon that was there last year. Did it return? I got the 5:30 slot because I want to be able to spend as much time as possible in the gardens, but your point to arrive early to get better shots with less people is brilliant! And since I plan to be there until closing, I can probably get some good shots as people leave. Thanks for a great video...bravo!
Thank you for watching! Yes, the moon is still there. It is in the video around the 2:15 mark. I arrived around 5 and was the third or fourth group in line. Everyone in front of me stopped to get something to drink when the gates opened, so I had the trail to myself for a while. If you enjoyed Enchanted, you should look into visiting Lightscape at The Arboretum in Arcadia. I have a video up from opening night this year and one from last year. Also, Astra Lumina opens at the South Coast Botanic Garden near Torrance next week. It's a first time exhibit/installation!
Great video! Do you know how long they allow you to stay there? Or if you can arrive earlier than what the ticket time shows? I ask because all Im seeing available is 8:30 pm for the dates I would like to go, and am not sure that will be enough time to see it all.
You can stay as long as you'd like. They scan the tickets, but not sure if they check the time as I have always gone at opening. I would suggest 45-60 minutes to walk around, and additional time if you'd like to get something to eat or drink.
Don't stop the filming and switch to you for the narration as it makes the film too long. Hey it's not about you. Just a nice into and nice exit. Good job though
I strongly disagree Robert. A video is boring and static without the narrator. I like to get to know the host of the video I’m watching and value their opinions. It’s not just about taking videos and photos of events. It’s about painting a story and showing the total experience in the eyes of the host. Great video as always! I truly enjoy all your adventures! ❤
