    Thanks for making this video. I just stripped my Victorian home’s upstairs bedroom walls and found the original lime wash finish. We are restoring the house using only 1800’s techniques and materials.

      That’s amazing. How is that process? I’m thinking finding and using the correct materials and methods must be difficult to match with today’s?

      @@charisma-hornum-fries It helps if you are patient, but the look, feel, and performance of old style materials is significantly better than today’s latex everything. Quicklime took a while to find, but everything else has been surprisingly easy. Artists have kept many traditional supplies in demand over the decades.

    Really thank you very much! I’m going to be applying this process on exterior stucco columns and front door casing. I have been painting for over 30 years and you learn something new every day, really appreciate it thank you 🙏🏼

      Thanks for your comment! I’d recommend doing some extra research before you start. If it’s exterior stucco you may not need to prime at all (and if you do choose to prime first, you should use lime or mineral primer). Good luck with your project!!

    Thank you so much fir sharing all of this information with us! I’m new to lime wash painting and feel ready to move forward and inspired. I have a 1905 Victorian and the walls I’m lime wash painting are original horsehair plaster and I think they will look perfectly imperfect AMD beautiful when done.

      I’ve never applied limewash to a plastered wall so I’m curious how it will turn out. I also wonder if you may need a different type of primer?

    I want to lime wash the bathroom of my home. I saw first hand this beautiful, and ancient way of painting walls after visiting Morocco and Egypt. Talk about an inexpensive, beautiful, and easy way to finish a wall. Thank you. Great instructional.

    Watched this video before I started a big lime wash job for a customer, chosen by their interior decorator. Although the product I used was different, pre-mixed & was a lot thinner, these tips were super helpful.

      @@joshmrivera My friends formulated the lime paint at Color Atelier. They also make beautiful plasters. Ping me if you want an intro to them. I watched your video because I am about to use their lime paint for the first time for my drywalls but also for some wood nightstands! But your video is awesome for beginners like me ;) - I used a mineral based primer though. So far so good!

    Lime Blueing and I think pink cement. We called it white wash. Used it like 52 years ago as a 9 year old in Arizona. It was for the outsides of stuco type homes.

      No worries, good luck! It’s not the most durable for high touch surfaces though. So I’d use caution or seal it, since it’ll be in a small space. I’m sure every inch will be used and serve multiple purposes, so just wanted to give the heads up

    Josh,you did a great job with the limewash paint technique. You make it look so easy, but I would be scared to do it for fear it would look like a 5 tyear old painted it! Oh my gosh.Perhaps I will give it a try in my small bathroom and see how is looks. Thanks for sharing!
