So happy I could help!!
4:10 is that plastic spoon? How did you not snap it? Impressive! I really want a limewash accent wall.
Yeah, I wasn’t fully prepared that day 😅 and had to improvise.. haha
@@joshmrivera no worries! I respect the improvisation!

Thanks for making this video. I just stripped my Victorian home’s upstairs bedroom walls and found the original lime wash finish. We are restoring the house using only 1800’s techniques and materials.
What a wonderful surprise! I’m sure your space is so unique and pretty. And I’m glad you found this video helpful! Any questions, please let me know ☺️
I have an upcoming room makeover where I’ll be using limewash again, so stay tuned!
That’s amazing. How is that process? I’m thinking finding and using the correct materials and methods must be difficult to match with today’s?
@@charisma-hornum-fries It helps if you are patient, but the look, feel, and performance of old style materials is significantly better than today’s latex everything. Quicklime took a while to find, but everything else has been surprisingly easy. Artists have kept many traditional supplies in demand over the decades.
Really thank you very much! I’m going to be applying this process on exterior stucco columns and front door casing. I have been painting for over 30 years and you learn something new every day, really appreciate it thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks for your comment! I’d recommend doing some extra research before you start. If it’s exterior stucco you may not need to prime at all (and if you do choose to prime first, you should use lime or mineral primer). Good luck with your project!!
Thank you so much fir sharing all of this information with us! I’m new to lime wash painting and feel ready to move forward and inspired. I have a 1905 Victorian and the walls I’m lime wash painting are original horsehair plaster and I think they will look perfectly imperfect AMD beautiful when done.
Oh wow that sounds amazing! I am so thrilled that I could help share some info and inspiration. And I would absolutely love to see how your space turns out too!
I’ve never applied limewash to a plastered wall so I’m curious how it will turn out. I also wonder if you may need a different type of primer?
I want to lime wash the bathroom of my home. I saw first hand this beautiful, and ancient way of painting walls after visiting Morocco and Egypt. Talk about an inexpensive, beautiful, and easy way to finish a wall. Thank you. Great instructional.
This is the best tutorial I've found yet. Thank you so much!
Aw thanks so much! That means the world. I’m glad I could help !
Watched this video before I started a big lime wash job for a customer, chosen by their interior decorator. Although the product I used was different, pre-mixed & was a lot thinner, these tips were super helpful.
hi Silvio, thanks so much for the comment! I am so glad this helped you out with the project!
This was SUPER helpful and really well explained. Can’t wait to try it out myself!
So happy you think so! I would love to see any space you try this in!
Limewash is giving 90’s grade school photo backdrop.
Excellent learning video. You're really detail in explaining and showing the steps in different angle and view throughout the process. I find it 100% helpful and practical. Thanks!

Thanks so much!! (Be sure to check out my second limewash video for FAQs!) 😊

Beautiful & simple. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽😊

Hi Josh, I want to compliment you on this video because you manage to explain in a simple way how to really apply a LimeWash product. I think I can say this with knowledge since I am the formulator of the product you used in the video.
Oh wow that’s amazing! Thank you so much for the compliment! I do want to make a follow up video to this with some more info on things like sealing it. And talk about using a proper limewash prep coat vs acrylic based primer and things like that. Would you be open to chatting with me some more about limewash?
@@joshmrivera My friends formulated the lime paint at Color Atelier. They also make beautiful plasters. Ping me if you want an intro to them. I watched your video because I am about to use their lime paint for the first time for my drywalls but also for some wood nightstands! But your video is awesome for beginners like me ;) - I used a mineral based primer though. So far so good!
Thank you for your comment! Love to hear it! My creative projects are in hold at the moment but one day m I’ll take you up that offer if it still stands 😁
@@joshmrivera yes ping me anytime!
Thank you!!

Thank you! We are renovating an old house in Spain where Lime is "Calç" and this is the best video I have found explaining how to make + apply Limewash. You have really demystified it!!

Very beautiful!
Hi Josh, Thanks a lot for the great tutorial. I learnt a lot from your video. God bless you!
Thank you for your kind words!
The orange beanie... I like that kind of style
Ok Josh!! This looks great , ty ✨
Thanks!
Lime Blueing and I think pink cement. We called it white wash. Used it like 52 years ago as a 9 year old in Arizona. It was for the outsides of stuco type homes.
Thank you!! Looking to implement this in a van build. I appreciate it 😁
No worries, good luck! It’s not the most durable for high touch surfaces though. So I’d use caution or seal it, since it’ll be in a small space. I’m sure every inch will be used and serve multiple purposes, so just wanted to give the heads up
I wanna try and use this texhnique on my livingroom- for peachy walls. I hope it turns out beautiful🧡
Good luck!
Love this video!! Thank you! 😄 it's gorgeous
Thank you so much! 😁

Josh, you did a great job with the limewash paint technique. You make it look so easy, but I would be scared to do it for fear it would look like a 5 tyear old painted it! Oh my gosh.Perhaps I will give it a try in my small bathroom and see how is looks. Thanks for sharing!
