Thank you. I have mine tomorrow morning. This is helpful in asking some proper questions. For so long so much of what I have been experiencing has been minimized by providers. My gastrin was in the 1,100s after being off of PPI meds for 30 days, and my CgA was 900s, but my 5 HIAA came back perfectly normal. I was diagnosed with EPI 2.5 years ago now though. It'll be interesting to see where all it is and the amount that it is. As there seem to be common presentations, but also many uncommon presentations as well too.

We just got in Alaska. I had to beg for this. Someone at the NIH told me I needed it. They were pushing that OCT SCAN because I don’t think my doctor even knew we had it in AK.

Is Ga-68 DOTATATE scan better than 131I-MIBG for the first nuclear scan for possible pheo/para? MRI didn't find anything. Is DOTATATE better only for metastases, or it is generally better than MIBG?

I had gallium scan in 2016 for a ghastly tibia shattering. If you’ve gotten to this video because you’re gonna have a gallium scan, don’t be scared.
I had injection through cannula in arm. Then went through the machine. I got hot, hot, hot as hell in the machine. That was somewhat perturbing. Was over pretty fast tho. No ‘lasting effects’.

What if the doctor said surgery is not a possibility. I have 1 tumor in my lung?

Hi Jan, are you seeing a neuroendocrine cancer specialist? Sometimes it isn't possible to remove a tumor given the individual case (and only a physician/team of physicians can determine that) and sometimes doctors who are not NET specialists have a different perspective on what can be done surgically than a NET specialist. If you need help locating a specialist, please let us know. Every person with NETs is different and treatment options vary.

@@CarcinoidNETs yes, I live in overland Park ks. I would like to find a doctor that is close to me b/c I have osteoarthritis in both knees and have a hard time walking too much. If you could recommend someone I would appreciate it. I am going to a radiologist and he just has me do CT scans every 6 months. Thanks Jan Bishop 5900 W 67th TR. OP KS 66204. My ph is 913-515-4415
