I buy all the issues of White Dwars, I like the feature articles with background and pictures and how the painters have painted their models. At least when there are armies that interest me either because I have them or want to collect them in the future. Also I see what color combinations might work together and get ideas or other armies. They had a Killteam article where one guy had painted an Astra Militarum army u in a certain way, and I got inspired to paint much the same way for my Necromunda Squats.
This is a great review, well done Miranda! Sadly I don't buy White Dwarf anymore, back in the day (90's) I would buy this magazine religiously because there was always something that caught my eye, but these days my interests in GW pretty much lay within 40k and Kill Team, with no interest in AoS. I do miss the old hobby articles White Dwarf would do, those Trash into Terrain articles that really sparked creativity. With GW's emphasis being on buying all your terrain from them, it almost seems that they took out part of the hobby of the hobby game.
I do love a Superfluous Review. I subscribed to White Dwarf in the past, but now I only buy if it has something relevant, or something cool as a free gift. As I only played Kill Team back then, and some issues would be purely the 40K & Sigmar combo, no Kill Team content. I'd just read letters and look at the readers mini gallery for those issues, not much for £7, so I switched to buying occasionally.
As a fan of White Dwarf (I can't quite believe it's closing in on 500 issues) I loved this. Also, unless I'm very much mistaken, Waugh has an even more accidentally hilarious pronunciation than what you thought: War
@@WarGamerGirl I did indeed 🙂 I'd say I'd love more but I'm aware that you probably have a life outside of reading a wargaming magazine to people on the internet lol
Nice review. I'm not an active player in GW systems at the moment but I follow the lore and like to keep track of what's going on, so I downed brushes to watch this, and you do it well. I hope you keep these reviews coming.
I still buy White Dwarf regularly. I enjoyed it more in the 90's to early 2000's though as it could be more spontaneous then. The current run does unfortunately border on being formulaic and it doesn't seem the writers had the freedom they used to have to create their articles.
As Miranda said, yes they stopped the digital releases. If you subscribe to Warhammer+ they are releasing old issues monthly, HOWEVER, if that issue has a mission, game mode, rules, stats etc, they are redacted. They cover any of that info with giant black boxes. There is only the current version, nothing else ever existed, lol.
No quarter will always have a place in my heart, but enjoying the new content!
This was a fun video❤ Would love more of these
Thank you! 😀
Great review! White Dwarf is a truly amazing community based magazine! Like your tee-shirt!
Thanks Miranda 🙂
Don't usually get time to read WD.
More vids please!
Nice to get a review. Finding a place that sells them aroind here is tricky. So getting a glimps is appreciated

Yeah, a few other people have pointed out the pronunciation as well. I wish my name was that cool! I hope you enjoy my #489 review as well =)

Nice vid. Would love to see some more Space Hulk missions 😁

I plan to. Keep an eye on this channel for the next issue =)

The Hobby Bingo is for the full year.
Ah, that makes more sense.
I prefer print but no room for it. I think u can get old digital White Dwarfs (officially) but what about news ones ?
Apparently, GW ceased providing a digital edition back in 2018 =/

@@paulknox505 That is so strange.
The warp coil tile, is definitively from Event Horizon
That's such a Warhammer 40k movie. It shows you what happens when you travel through the warp without a Gellar field.
So excited for this series. Would you cover retro/old white dwarfs as i like your discussions on any warhammer.
Yes, actually. I came across an old stash of magazines that I'm looking to dive into =)
I gotta get one of those shirts before Thrasher IP strikes it, lol!
I'm selling them in my shop =)
Regular content again?
That is the goal =)
Waugh pronounced War!
Oof, my bad. That's even better! 😁
@@WarGamerGirl Evelyn Waugh, British novelist, look him up lol!
