Love how they are so down to earth and bringing the kids up to appreciate christmas and giving to others...you don't see many celebs doing this. Kindness goes along way 💖💖💖
You are not failing. You are human and a great reminder to other struggling parents that it is okay to make mistakes. The kids will not remember the few times that you forgot to move the elf. What they will remember is the lessons they learned and all of the great memories you are creating. You are doing a great job and shouldn’t give yourself such a hard time.

I love this. Real-life chaos is so much more relatable than perfection. :) We've scaled our holidays waaaay back; I deal with seasonal depression, and one kid has a really hard time handling anticipation, so we keep it simple. It took me years to learn to do that. This year we didn't even put up a tree (my kids are post-Santa) and it was Christmas all the same without sending me into a nosedive. Thanks for sharing with us :)

Oh my god Christmas lights! I'm convinced that's a long con cause they ALWAYS blow. And then it's always like half of them or some weird section so it makes the tree look weird unless you add even more lights or are creative with the ornaments
One year I had a prelit tree (I think that's what it's called) and the lights STILL blew by the following year

Pick and choose your battles and don’t sweat over the small things! Enjoy them while they are young. All my love from my family to your!

House of Chaos! haha! I can relate, also having three kids and a husband who travels! We actually do the opposite with Santa - he only fills stockings. All other gifts are from Mom & Dad and other family members. HowEVER, we are also making a strong effort to stick to "want, need, wear, read" for Christmas. And for any gift giving occasion, like birthdays, we try to leave actual physical gifts (toys, books) for Grandma and other far away family, and WE give our kids gifts of time and memory making experiences. For example: gift certificates for laser tag, mini golf, or the bounce house; yearly memberships to local zoos, or kids museums; or even something bigger like a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge, or a day at a theme park.
