SAAAAAME. My two great aunts, one of whom passed when I was a child and the other who is still kicking at 97 were sisters in both senses of the word (not nuns-- there's a difference). The representation is honestly disgusting. First of all, its been decades since corporal punishment was widely considered an acceptable form of punishment in Catholic school. Second of all, Benedictine nuns typically keep their hair completely covered instead of looking like Sister Addison Rae....

@@aminedev07 I went to a catholic school, none of what these kids did is against the catholic faith, just against school policies. Catholic schools are never this strict, there's nothing agaisnt slam poetry or women's rights. The uniforms are strict but we have days were we're allowed to wear our own clothes. I don't think these exist in the US anymore but they do in other countries, there are orphanages which this appears to be so the kids have no choice but to abide by this. The nuns are schools are not cruel like this, they're strict but fair.

This is a bad representation of what it's like to go to a Catholic all-girls school. I actually went to one for high school, and I've known some very nice nuns. I've never felt like I couldn't be myself at school because of the nuns. My school was sponsored by nuns, and it was a positive atmosphere where girls were encouraged to study hard, explore our interests, and achieve great things. The school was focused on women's empowerment and helping us become confident successful women. They let us wear makeup and nail polish, and weren't as strict as this video shows. Sure, we had to wear the uniform and not do anything immoral (like drugs, alcohol, etc.), but it's a good thing they had some moral standards for us. I don't think this video represents Catholic schools well. I don't think a video like this would have been made about Muslim or Jewish schools, yet they have similar values as Catholics. It seems like in the media misrepresenting Catholics is something nobody cares about, but ohhh we can't offend Jews and Muslims, so we won't portray them badly. This video unfairly portrays Catholics in a bad way. Not all nuns who work in schools are mean and nit-picky. Also, nobody should be talking and passing out flyers for an event in the middle of Mass. It wasn't unreasonable for the nun to get upset about that. Some strict behavior by nuns makes sense, but a lot of the strictness shown here isn't stuff Catholic school teachers actually get upset about. There's nothing wrong with being Catholic and believing in women's empowerment, as long as it's not sin disguised as "women's empowerment."

I went to a catholic elementary and middle school for both boys and girls. . 1/3 of school staff were nuns. They were strict and tehre were a few I didn't like but they were fairly reasonable and would never act like this. Our school might have been stricter on uniforms than yours since we couldn't have dyed hair, nail polish or make up but this was preschool through 8th grade. I think a long time ago there were catholic schools in europe and maybe north america with really cruel nuns which is where this stereotype comes from but this is not the norm today. there surely would be lawsuits

While uniforms may limit self-expression in terms of clothing, there are other ways that students can express themselves, such as through their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal interests.

And I know how a school uniform could be boring😅 but a school uniform stands as the symbol of unity and acceptance. You can easily see that the schools who doesn’t allow uniform becomes a very judgemental place for the students. They are judged or bullied for their regular clothes just because of brands and expensiveness. Every children are allowed to go to school. They can be left depressed or exhausted for narrow minded persons. So I think a school uniform is fundamental 💜

For example: If being racist, throwing tantrums in public, calling the police for no reason and going off when something doesn't go your way is who you are as a person.........please don't be yourself.
