Y'know, rich people, poor people and people in between those two extremes get divorced. It's a traumatic experience for everyone involved, especially when children are involved. Is your life so boring that you have to soak up the drama of the divorce of someone you don't even know? You're judging people you don't know. There's a difference between callousness and kindness. Are you proud of it as well? Every single person deserves being kind to no matter what. Probably even more so for the affluent in some circles. My family is loaded and they always see couples they snootily refer to as "new money" yet their friends fall for this stuff too... most of there rich friends whether old or new money but maybe slightly more for new because they aren't yet used to the choices that come with wealth or the attention they are sure to get because they seem to really be big on flashing cash around, as if they still have something to prove whereas the older school fat cats don't care what anyone thinks and are used to getting sway with murder and not having to develop a personality even in some cases because everyone has always kissed their ass and catered to them throughout their lives and they genuinely don't care what anyone thinks unless it's for some merger or something maybe. Some old money people like to make a spectacle of themselves with flashy designer clothing and watches and spending money conspicuously to pick up gold diggers or impress strangers too just like the new kids, but very few, although their kids and grandkids do... anyway many people divorce and then move on to a gold digger. Most old money and sensible new money people get pre-nups, but those each have agreed upon limits and sometimes the spouse will wait until say the 5th year runs out so they get what was stipulated and then they're out. I personally think it's disgusting to refer to people as new or old money but I'm just trying to share the perspective of this crowd. Very self-absorbed childish people used to always getting their own way. I don't understand their disdain for "new money" people either. At least they earned their own money instead of inheriting it from daddy. I paid my own way through college and paid off all my student loans myself by 26 yers old. Just like most college kids I also paid for my own car and insurance, apartment, food, gas, medical bills, medical insurance. etc. I still understand that I am privileged to be able to count on inheritance at some point and to have to never worry about if I have enough saved for retirement. Some of my family was even actually embarrassed that I was working, I'm dead serious....WTF is that about?
