There are no guarantees that CCC or any other party will succeed but it will be foolish of us Zimbabweans to not give someone else a chance to lead... Great insight. Why does he keep saying the Kenyan shilling is 6,000 to 1. It is 118 to 1 on google so he is way off on the exchange rate. This is the second interview that i have heard him reference the Kenyas shilling being 6000 to 1 to the USD. Is the information on Google incorrect. Biti has a lot of information but there is something called information overload. He can still make the excellent points he is making without getting too much in the weeds, that is when you are start misquoting stuff. Just explain in layman terms or just make your point and say the Kenyan or whatever country's currency is fairly stable. Otherwise pretty impressed with his overall grasp of how the economy works.
Anyone can upload anything on Google. There is correct and wrong staff on Google my guy,that's why u have to verify the authenticity of information posted on google
@@lovemorenkomo732 I am not sure what your point is. If a senior politician is not sure about anything he should speaknin more general terms not throw out grossly exaggerated information. Forex rates take a minute to find so I was surprised when, he was so off. He speaks with so much authority so I just did not expect him to be that off. Either way I got his overall argument and he makes excellent points.

1) Where are the people going to get the US$ to import the goods?
2) If the people with free funds import goods, are you expecting them to sell in zim$ ? impossible
3) Where are the majority going to get the US$ to buy the goods if they are imported by those with free funds??

the economy might take off starting from the next 50-70years to come, assuming that the majority of people will have at least a college degree. Our education sytem has been overrated for years without any tangile prove. Zimbabweans just don"t know what they want or need.
How does a reporter conducting an interview on an economy not understand the simple fact that a monopoly is bad for business. A monopoly can hold the customer hostage as they can set any price due to lack of competitors. Advanced economies have commission that are constantly looking at monopolistic behavior and breaking up monopolies. Right now Google, Facebook etc are facing parts of their business being broken up in Europe because they exhibit monopolistic behaviour. Competition helps drive prices down. The only monopolies we should see is where the government for example is in charge of power generation etc but even that allowing private players is most of the time a better set up.

Biti doesn't always disappoint in Kenya we love this man to the core. Eve Lumumba admitted that you can win where biti is , he gave excellent testimony during 2018 post election violence . Even the general from Tanzania was surprised and he applauded him , virgia mabisa was only clapping after he acknowledged her professionalism .
But Mr Tendai Biti talk about the effects of sanctions. The demand and supply matrixes. Zimbabwe does not have the official supply of the foreign currency becoz you Biti supported the imposition of sanctions. So all what you are saying does not make sense at all. You are being hypocritical
