  • The streets of the Madrid district of Usera have hosted the massive Chinese New Year parade, to welcome this year of the rabbit. "The rabbit has always been a very agile animal, and we would like this year to bring more agility, efficiency, good health and good luck", as explained by Susana Chen, a member of the Parade Organization.
Thousands of citizens have traveled to Usera to enjoy the Chinese New Year parade. "We have come exclusively to see the parade, we are really looking forward to it," some citizens have explained.
Actually in China, the New Year is not a single holiday, but the beginning of the Spring Festival that in China lasts 15 days (from January 21 to February 5, 2023), being the most important traditional festival of Chinese culture.
The date of the Chinese New Year is set based on the new moon, specifically the new moon that falls closest to the date equidistant between the winter solstice (about 45 days after said solstice) and the spring equinox (about 45 days before that equinox) in the northern hemisphere, generally coinciding with the rise of the second new moon after December 21, the date of the winter solstice.
