  • Portugal is very historic with the most gorgeous old palaces, castles and cathedrals. However, Pinhão, in the Duoro Valley is famous for being a quaint town in the centre of the wine making region. We had three days and nights here and loved it. Here is a video of Pinhão showing you what we saw. You’ll see how I struggled to get the pronunciation correct, of course a Portuguese speaker would not have any problem but I really messed it up. As for the port (wine), well normally port isn’t my style but I took to it quick smart, delicious. The town was relatively quiet during our visit but that would be because it was wintery and out of season. People with less time take a day trip to Pinhão from Porto but it is rushed and tiring but still worth it if time is short. For us three days allowed us to relax and really experience the region. One of our favourite spots in Portugal.

Yes, I should. I used to have one or two every day. Wish I was back there. Loved Portugal. ❤
