"When i reach your age, we'll see" 29:20
Come one bro, that's so fucking sad
Heartbreaking :(
He had a whole life ahead. In normal circumstances one could say he was like at 40% of his life span. So sad really. RIP Lao, he was truly an inspiration for many.
@@abeldnite What I took from this conversation(after the fact he passed) is that he was 6'7. I knew he was tall but not that tall. A high percentage of people that tall tend to have heart trouble because of how hard the heart has to work to pump blood that high off ground level. Truly an inspiration though and his legacy, I feel, is cemented.
@@MrBoDiggety me too when I heard that it all kinda made sense
💖💖💖💖💖
R.I.P. Moses. I still can’t believe it. Your perpetual smile will shine on forever!
Wait what!!!! He passed away? 💔🕊 😢
@@junefaleafine6233 yes he just died recently from a heart attack :( . RIP moses forever a legend
@@mejeff7478 pfizered ?
@@allafleche lool ofc not
@@mejeff7478 well many did, very sad.
RIP my man. Gone way too soon. You know you're truly impactful when a grown man like myself who watched your videos on ocassion is deeply hurt at your death. Prayers to your family, the language community can never forget you legend. You will live on!
@J. Gomez yeah he died 3 days ago. Im surprised you haven't heard of it yet. Just go to his facebook page and youll understand. Heart complications according to his family. Truly saddening time this is for his supporters.
@@BloodSoldierRB 😳😳😳 wait who died, Not Lou, tell me you talk about the other dude
@@GXilla laoshu, Moses, passed away at the age of 39 due to heart complicated. A few days ago
@@blackdeth-uo9mx so young for a heart complication :( , imagine what his level would have become by the time he was 70 or 80 !!
Exactly. I was surprised to find, upon conversation about foreign language learning, that my pops knew about him. He was so disappointed when I told him that he had passed away.
I really like the fact that it's a calm dialog and not one of them trying to take over the whole conversation for himself. Great guys!
Breno Monteiro i noticed that too lol
What do you mean that old guy was interrupting every sixteen seconds
Loashu
RIP loashu, after I heard that you passed away I came your channel to watch some of my favorite videos.
Rest in peace bro 😰😰
I was thinking the same. A lesson to learn from people who think/speak of language much more than most. It is bridge, no need for an accident in the middle of it.
RIP to this legend
His last interview with Steve. It’s heart breaking .
Bet Steve is very grateful that he did this interview. Been watching some of the interview ones between them.
@@4himsanctified he did a video on laoshu passing
@@blackdeth-uo9mx yes, I saw it
21:07 and there you have it. To all the critics who criticize Moses for not being extremely fluent with all the languages, he’s aware of it and there’s the reason. He likes where he’s at and he simply enjoys the new experience of interacting with people. A1 and A2 are good enough for him, lol.
yea i just saw a video about a women calling out fake polyglots. you can tell who she’s talking about and she means well. but she obviously isn’t really familiar with him and that he rarely claims mastery
@@skyest6799 She's not just talking about Moses. In fact, I think she's more so talking about XiaoMa because, in so many of his videos, he always says, "Speaks in 'PERFECT' this or that." Xiaoma is very similar to Steve and Moses; he's gained a relatively high level in their 2nd, 3rd languages, etc, and it sparked an extreme interest in language-learning. So they just kept learning more and more and more. So Xiaoma, Laoshu, and Steve are VERY similar in this way, so she was likely referring to all three of them but mostly Xiaoma because of his click-bait tendencies and 2+million followers.
@@skyest6799
I agree. I saw that video too when I searched "laoshu death", despite that Laoshu wasn't mentioned anywhere in that video (or most comments). I was expecting Laoshu to be mentioned as one of the "real polyglots" she talked about, because Laoshu never gave me that "clickbaity" or "I just want fame" vibe. In his videos you can tell he really enjoyed talking to people, and tried to have a deeper connection with people by speaking their languages. You can often see him struggle with some languages, stuttering a lot, trying to find the correct words, etc, and he was not afraid of showing these moments. This interview just proved it even more. He knew his level is not great on many languages and he never tried to brag.
@@skyest6799 EXACTLY
Can you guys spill her name or the video?
When you watch this a second time after his death and a tiney little tear comes up when he says: "when I'm your age" and the other one "oh you have 35 more years to go" 😢 RIP
The ending hit different when he says when I reach your age maybe ill run out languages. RIP moses
I really hope that one day Moses would be able to attend a polyglot conference. He'd be a stud and would surely brighten the environment there!
BuenVida Nadz all the meetings seem so boring
@@obama7325 Well that's kind of true but I think his encounters with the people there would serve a great content , having all kinds of exchanges with different polyglots, not necessarily restricted to the meetings only.
Your comment makes me sad :(
r.i.p. Laoshu
:(
"Moreov" in subtitles struckthrough at 2:55! :D
HAHAHAHAHAHA
RIP. Praying for the family.
wow its apparent these man got nothing but respect for each other.
With his gift, Moses came to the world with a purpose, God wanted him back by his side, we will miss him. Reminded us that language is fun, so much positive energy to share, no barriers, no race, no country, we are all the same, so much love!! I’m sad
29:23 damn why😢😢 R.I.P
That punched me in the face
"Laoshu" Moses and Steve Kaufman - two giants in the world of language learning. Rest in Peace, Moses. Your example continues to inspire us all over the world. I actually retook an old project of mine which is learning the Kariña language (spoken by the Kariña indians in the north-eastern part of Venezuela and Surinam and French Guyana), inspired by your videos. I am in the process if digitizing the only Kariña-Spanish dictionary I know of that was prepared by Dr. Jorge Monsonyi. I really wish you were alive for me to share this stuff with you and say "Go get 'em Moses"!
This looks like a job interview for the cia.
lol wkwkwk
Great conversation between two massively inspirational people. Such a shame. RIP Moses
@J. Gomez Yes, he passed 😡
RIP man I was really upset today hearing you passed away
First time I heard moses speaking swedish it was really bad and felt like he had just learned a few sentences. A few months later he had a new video and he held a full conversation in Swedish and was better than the average immigrant in Sweden who lived here for 10+ years. It was amazing how he went from having almost no ability at all to actually having a very, very good grasp of swedish, including pronounciation.
still waiting for danish!
@@Quirrelq7 same here
Is the second video the one that he spoke with a Swedish-speaking taxi driver? Has he continued with any other nordic languages, besides Finnish and Swedish? (those two are really different from eachother)
@@designstinamarshmallow9868 Would likely be really confusing to try to learn norweigian and danish and swedish due to their similarities, feels like it would just lower his ability in each individual one.
He really was a genius. I like Steve's analogy of being at the buffet line. Will you stick with a lot of one dish or dabble in all the different things it offers. r.i.p Laoshu. Just when (imo) he hits his stride on CZcams, tragedy. He will be missed.
I could listen to these guys all day! The world is a lesser place without Moses.
Awww man that beautiful boisterous laugh he had ...so sad
If you’re new to Moses’ site, welcome. If you’re not, welcome back. There is much to learn from this man. But if there is one lesson to learn from Moses is to find your passions in life and share it with the world. Be inspired to share and help the world with all that you’ve learn. Expect nothing in return. Leave your legacy behind. That’s the secret to life. Moses lived it.
Rest In Peace, Moses.
I'm just finding out that you passed away you were amazing bro. I'm going to buy a program I always wanted to be like you. Condolences to your family and your loved ones ❤️
Rest In Peace Moses. You will always be remembered
So awesome seeing your channel grow over the years.
Many thanks for your channel Moses,I've loved watching your antics over the last few months.
You can't tell me this world is fair if Moses gets takin from us. He was such a good person. I miss you man. 😢❤️
Hi... laoshu im from South Africa....Zulu is one of our 11 languages
He would enjoy learning all our languages, next goal I rate
He speaks Zulu in a video. Just a sentence or two though
I heard him speaking Zulu in one of his videos...and i was so proud😊😆
hello van v.s.a. ! lekker dag
i thought about isizulu but i want to wait until i do DNA test to see what tribe im from
I would like to learn Zulu, Tswana, Tsonga, and Venda. They are so interesting.
I watched Moses from the very beginning. He and I did not always see eye to eye, but the man had some really cool ways of looking at language learning. We will miss him.
thanks for another day of inspiration laoshu
I haven't even started the video, but I must say, just seeing this format has got me exited. What ever I'm about to watch, more please.
Great Interview Moses. Thank you for this. He's a pretty cool dude.
You gotta go abroad, mate. Thanks for sharing! Good talk!!! Steve is LIT!
I shed tears every vid I re watch. Took me months to come back.
Laoshu, please, you are a genius, plain and simple. I am so in awe of you and just love watching your videos.
great conversation Moses , fan from Vietnam :D watching you for along time , you are some reasons my english level up :D
This is a great conversation, it's obvious you are both honorable men. I learned a lot from this video.
RIH. You was a living treasure to the world that can never be replaced.
He was such an inspiring man. I will miss his influential videos, they always made me smile and refocus on my goals.
You built such a great foundation, sad to see you leave so soon RIP Moses
This is so heartbreaking, I literally had no idea! RIP Laoshu 🙏
I love how you're so respectful of the older gentleman (Steve) at the end :)
Great video Moses!
you two together could make a great TedX presentation
Just watching this and thinking I wish the whole world had chance for to amazed and put as many smiles on their faces as I had..
I want to appreciate how this man chose to share his gift with the world and changed so many lives in the process. Time for the ultimate level up.
R.I.P Moses we will miss you.
@J. Gomez Last week, died in his sleep at age 39, officially from heart failure.
Yeah, by heart failure.
And it was last week.
Legends!! Love both of you! Hope I can meet you guys some day!
I could see two 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 talking about language like guys talking about their sports⚽. They are fascinated with languages🌎 Love you guys❤
Such a great talent ❤️ you will be missed
R.i.p Moses,I'm shocked to hear the sad news😭 prayers to your family.
I'm learning english right now and I learned a lot with master Steve. I love you Steve 😁 You two are awesome
No errors, great English! I know many people learn english but I actually really appreciate that you taken the time and decided to learn it
Two legends talking. Respect!
Fascinating conversation. Captivating exchange.
// Very enjoyable sharing.
Laoshu finally post your 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨🥳. We were so worried about your health😭. Looking forward to your Cantonese and Mandarin level up videos
Loui Burnito Yeah Laoshu got sick a week before I think.
祝你们平安
I Can Speak Arabic 祝我们都平安
😥
Rip true legend 😭❤️🙏🏼
Cool interview great content
I'm so sad that I just discovered this channel, I was enjoying so much Moses videos, then I found out that Moses passed away, so young, such a good vibe dude, it's just terrible sad, but Moses left his legacy with his youtube channel, and courses I hope this last forever. RIP Moses.
So proud of you moses. You are inspiring
i would love more of this videos, you are perfect to make a podcast
Excellent work Laoshu. There are so many people jealous of your work, claiming and implying that you're a fake. Meanwhile you bring out the best interactions from cultures outside of the US. You also do way more teaching than any of these other polyglots do these days. Love your work man.
Thanks to Mr Moses and Mr Steve. It's very high quality video chat.Age is just a number to learn something new(Learning new Language)
Wow great discussions and well manner both sides...no ego involved...rip Moses
Your BEST video, by far! Would love to see one of you attending that Vancouver Polyglot conference, or getting together with Steve so you both can level up!
They would be great leveling up together.
Wow, so long since you two did this. I still remember when Steve mad a Moses skit and wore a hat/copied Moses's speaking style for a video lol
Love the respect. He never quit calling him Mr. Kaufman, until he told him to call him "Steve".
I actually liked the first-person view more-it was far more immersive. Felt like I was a polyglot myself...
Damn. Gonna miss this dude. Thanks for all the adventures.
Yes it inspires us!!! Please believe it!!!
When two of the many gods enter the chat
Wow I remember your first interview with this guy. You’ve come a long way!
Very interesting conversation. Two big models for language dilettante persons. Two styles : more deepening for Steve Kaufman and Jack-of-all-trades for Moses McCormick. Always sources of inspiration. By the way I'm more from the school 'Go to B2+ at least' but as I'm enjoying every culture and get to know to Histories and to encounter people, I understand that having about 12/15 languages in interest even as A1+ level is a goal.
Damn Moses, we'll miss you without a doubt.
was never a wrong time of day to watch a level up video.
Very inspirational....
Oh Laoshu and I have the same shirt!
Interesting video !
Moses muchas gracias por estos videos. Me encantaría verte hablar Euskera que es un idioma del País Vasco. Seria divertido ver y oirte hablar. Saludos desde españa
I'm learning Spanish and please tell me if I correcrly translated what you've said.
"Moses, thank you very much for these videos. I would love to see you speak Euskera which is a language of the country Vasco. It would be fun to see and hear you speak. Greetings from Spain! "
@@buenvidanadz1969 muy buena traducción. Pero solo una cosa. En inglés País Vasco es Basque country. Lo demás perfecto.
Sup Laoshu. Great video as always.
There's this guy called Ikenna and he goes into vr-chats and speaks multiple langauges with people all over the world. Maybe that's something you can try out aswell, or perhaps a collaboration with him.
Whatever you decide to do, keep it up.
wasn't ready for this collab
Beautiful.
Agreed. I like being able to see you. But love all of your videos regardless.
Two legends :)
he was 6'7" dayyyum. I wonder if being very tall carries a higher risk of heart problems.
It 100% does. People who are really tall usually develop issues with their heart and have a lower life expectancy :( it's not fair at all.
Legendary Laoshu...
So proud to see you any DAY
Oh holy shit I've been waiting for this collab
This was insanely awesome to watch.
Come to British Columbia! This such a crazy diverse area. And it's the one of most beautiful landscapes in Canada hands down!
Such a beautiful man. This is what I strive for everyday day.
Argentina Amigo!!
Very interresting exchange !
Level up in Vancouver!
man you GOTTA come to Vancouver.
Imagine these two leveling up together
Class video
The language you are looking for in Spain is Basque, but the original name is Euskera, so that's the name you are looking for, though it's the same thing. It's certantly a weird one, isolated language, not related to any other language in the world, i've heard it shares grammar with japanese somehow. Greetings from a speaker of Spanish, English and Catalan (there's not much merit on those 3 hahaha)
I think he's trying to remember Occitan or Aragon.
My granddaughter’s best friend speaks Basque. Her dad (she’s adopted) is from there. I never heard of it before then.
@KALUMO Aranese is a variety of Occitan, spoken in Val d'Aran, in Spain
@ No, I don't speak Galician. I'm from Catalonia region.
@@sergiomash I don't think so, because both occitan and aragones are romance languages, and surely he is looking for the strange one.
I just want to say I love your videos.
By the way, can you make a video in VRchat? It may be harder to make it "child-friendly (By CZcamss standards)" VRchat is not 100% child-friendly but it would be cool too watch people's reactions.
R.I.P Moses 😭...I just discovered you and your content I was shocked that he left us.
he was on CZcams for years! Weirdly became viral in the last 2-3 years. the surprising part of the channel is how civil the comments section was. i watched 90% of his videos at work. = no bad days.
But he inspired alot of people and some of those people have Polyglots channels now.
Laoshu, any chance of you doing a Rogan style podcast with different foreign speakers? I love this type of content.
This was so dope didnt know you left Ohio. I bet the weather in Arizona is way more stable then here lol
