FILM DESCRIPTION:
The first major breakdancing film, Breakin' stars Lucinda Dickey as a dancing student who dislikes the hidebound regimen of her demanding teacher. She breaks free from terpischorean tradition when she befriends a bunch of street kids devoted to breakdancing. Within a year of its release, Breakin' spawned a sequel, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.

I remember seeing this movie in 1984 along with Beat Street I always felt this was the better movie.. Shout out to all of the great dancers that performed. This got Ice T and Jean Claude Vandamm on their way In Hollywood along with Christopher McDonald who would later play Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore. Also the black and white Nikes worn by Turbo are the exact shoes worn now by the younger generation today 40yrs later. R.I.P Shabba Doo and Popin Taco.

It was an excellent movie indeed. Shabba Doo and his friend Turbo were amazing. Life was simple yet fantastic during the 80's.

Great post the only flaw is the two beach scenes were left out and both were Iconic along with the Songs. You have Work Your Body but Freak Show on the Dance Floor was left out, that's the scene where Jean- Claude Van Damme was dancin as an extra. Still a great job😊

Thank you. I didn't want to just do a carbon copy, I wanted to put all this together with my own spin on it. I could easily have done that, but didn't want to take away to much goodness from the film, it's also to encourage others to jump back in time and to pick up the movie again to watch it. This is merely just my tribute and teaser for you the family out there as a FLASHBACK. ❤😊

Wrong song while Turbo's "cleaning" the floor (just found out, he's 1 months younger than me 😎) ...
Well, I liked BREAKIN' and BEAT STREET, but took most of my moves these days (as a gymnastic in that time I had some jumps and other things many Breakers couldn't do. Now I would be lame and lost I think...😁) from BEAT STREET red crew, Lee's style and Kuriaki, cause there were much more and I took most of them from the battle at ROXY'S. I', sure I could still do it (sometimes I try something - CAREFULLY!), but don't ask my body after it (shoulders damaged - tendon torn a few years ago, too). So, it's nice seing this and getting back in time (got this movie as an old VHS - don't know where exactly).
RIP Shabba Doo, didn't know he died on 29th of dec 2020. And when I think about it - they started the "jabs" in early dec. 2020 (maybe. There indications in cause of his death...)...😢
