Great work, and great info. 👌👍
I got the one for my 69 C10 from NAPA.
It fits.
What’s the part number?
Doesn’t look like much of a problem to me. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work. Question. Is the heater core in the Amazon link the same as the one in the video ? Asking because that part on Amazon of course says it's a perfect fit 🤔
I believe I got my heater core from LMC. They also said it would fit. Not sure if the Amazon one is the same one I got. Finding good restoration parts seems to be hit or miss.
Turned out great! I wonder - will there be a chemical reaction between the metal brackets and the aluminum core?
I don't think it will be in there long enough. I plan to get a brass one when I pull the cab and do rust repair someday.
@@mossman381 Sounds good! Lucky for you, you have the skills and know how to do this. Other people would be out of luck.
I'm afraid that we probably should be thankful there are parts available at all right now. The supply chain shortages are still a "thing" we have to deal with.
Some parts are hard to find. If you wait a little bit, they seem to trickle in. Checking multiple places helps too.
Some more aftermarket crap that don't fit. These companies should be ashamed at the products they put out for us DIYers... Other than that, nice job making it work! I'd probably found a radiator shop and have the old heater core vatted and used it instead of the new POS.
I really can't wait for another core and we don't have a local shop that does radiators. When I pull the cab to fix the rust someday I will get a brass one. Right now they are all out of stock. It's really hard to get things done when the parts don't fit right.
@@mossman381 Radiator shops are a dying breed. Lucky for me I have one about 20 miles from me, but who knows how much longer it will be there.
I think you should have painted the mounts due to electrolysis. The dissimilar metals might corrode.
I don't think it will be in there long enough to cause a problem. When I pull the cab for rust repair eventually, I will replace it with a brass one.
More videos!!
I am trying to get more done.
Take the 2 cores to a radiator shop and have the tanks swapped.
The OEM world has gone to crap. I couldn't find half the parts on my truck that are to OEM spec. They just make one part to fit multiple makes and models to cut their cost. I would rather pay extra to get a replica of the original.
Sure has. I don't think these companies are even test fitting some of these parts.
