Linkin Park was one of the bands biggest influences. They were actually supposed to tour with them the year Chester passed away. And Taka performed with them for the Chester Tribute show. I agree that he should perform with them again.
Should react to Deeper Deeper live at Yokohama or Cry Out live. Both are bangers.

Taka respects Chester very much. "take what you want"performance just after his death,
Taka was almost crying in this performance(one ok rock japan ambitious dome tour 2018).

I'm actually going to their Toronto show and I have to say, this concert isn't one you don't want to miss. This tour seems to be special because they only have like 8 tour dates around the world. This isn't a tour for an album, so there's much more to it.
Another song that will give you Linkin Park vibes is "One by One " live at the Saitama super arena 35xxxv tour. His screams during this performance sound so much like Chesters it's crazy.

The name originates from practice times they took at 1am, because it was cheaper. But, because “L” and “R” aren’t distinct in the Japanese language, “O’Clock” became “O’Crock” or “O’Krock”, and transformed into “OK Rock”. Just like that!!

    • @ashlenamusic
      @ashlenamusic  Před 19 dny +2

Haha yup! I love how they got their name!

This song was created for last year's release of the "Monster Hunter Now" video game. They also made a song for the anime, "Beyblade X" called "Prove" I believe.
I would like to see you react to a special live performance of "We Are" for NHK (Japanese television) during the 18Fes (18 Year Olds Festival). It was back when Japan lowered the voting age from 20 to 18 and many young adults felt anxiety from this sudden responsibility. They touch the hearts of all 1,000 kids and it makes me cry every time.

I've been a fan of OOR for some years already, but saw them live last year for the first time. And I'll see them again later this year. I can't wait! They're amazing live! Even if it's a much smaller venue, they still have the same high energy and sound as good. Seeing them live is an experience you'll never forget!
Btw, don't stress too much over the band name. Calling them "one okay rock" is totally fine. It's how Taka (vocalist) introduces the band outside of Japan. So it's approved. ^^

Thanks for your reaction! Next I'd recommend "The Beginning" (from the Eye of the Storm tour) which is a classic and their first international hit, "Mighty Long Fall" (at Yokohama) for a heavier rock sound, and "We Are" (at the Japan Dome tour for a epic arena rock song. Enjoy!

@@ashlenamusic It was a new song at that time so Taka hasn't performed it enough to come up with other ways to perform it. Same thing with their song Decision, the Saitama super arena 35xxxv tour version is a must see.
I'm not sure if this is something you can do but because there are quite a few songs with several different live versions, some are must see, it's worth reacting to two different live versions of a song. They actually rearranged Mighty Long Fall for their Day to Night acoustic session concert, which I suggest watching no matter what.

If you want to see Taka's true singing power, you need to check out the acoustic stuff. that's where he really lets his voice shine and the loud instruments don't muffle it. Check out his cover of Adele's Hello, from 7 years ago, it's impressive as hell, in the original key. I would also recommend Mighty Long Fall acoustic version (though the original is also great, it's a banger). Clock Strikes from the Luxury Disease tour has his longest held note to date in a live concert: 35 seconds. (before some folks complain it's 30 sec, no it isn't. OOR timed it with a computer in their Instagram channel, it's officially 35 seconds long). Taka is amazing frontman, an attestation to that is Paper Planes from the Saitama super arena 35xxxv concert. Incredible crowd control. He is usually very hyper on stage (and pretty chill and a very kindhearted and cheerful guy off stage), check out Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer from the Mighty Long Fall tour, it's just NUTS how he keeps running around like a wild horse while singing crystal clear at the same time :)) His stamina is incredible. His parents are both acknowledged singers in Japan, so he definitely has an innate talent towards music but he worked a lot on those vocals. It's actually nuts how well he can sing now.

They tour all over the world but they do small venues. This world tour is only 8 shows and they are getting their feet wet with big venues. So them selling this stadiums out will mean where we get to see them from now on. Im going to the California concert and im traveling from Oregon. Im so excited to see them in a big venue. Ive obly seen them in small ones. And they are amazing ❤❤❤❤

You are a powerhouse! You produce so much content, I can barely keep up with it (that's a good thing). Yesterday morning I watched your reaction to Halestorm's "Love Bites." I commented, "I've simply become aware that almost all of the greatest (new) rock (bands) that I've been hearing... are either all female or headed by a female." Then I had to leave for the day and as I was contemplating having said that, it occurred to me that I was going to send you a message on Patreon telling you that there was one band that I stumbled across a couple of months ago that featured some really intense, powerful rock... A band that did NOT have any female members... A Japanese band named ONE OK ROCK. How ironic that you had already posted this video when that occurred to me. It's amazing that I'm encountering all this new rock, none of which is new. From what I can tell, this band was founded in 2005. 19 years is pretty long in the rock world, or at least it used to be.

They also recently released a cover of a 70s Korean rock band, Reminiscence. A really fun studio session. Plus a handful of originals like Blaze, Fearless, and Stand Up recently released.
