The difference is that slayer was only 50% Of the Original members. And with the Death of hanneman slayer died.
Lombardo and Hanneman were slayer
If Slayer made millions $$$ per week on tour things would be different.
The difference is: Slayer, with 50% of original members, are still metal-killers; Metallica, with 75% of original members, are still... good musicians.
Gianpietro Miolato Slayer without Lombardo and Hanneman was shit and Metallica have half of their orginal members not 3/4.

I took my 8 year old to this concert last year. Prepped him up a couple of months before the show by getting Metallica Guitar Hero. A fan gave him a guitar pick as we were walking out of the arena. Talk about an unforgettable night. I hope they return to Nashville and play at Nissan Stadium. With our ticket purchase I was able to download the concert for free, and I listen to songs from that show almost every day.
I saw these guys in Dallas with GNR. When we first arrived you would hear a mix of Metallica and GNR blasting through everyone stereos. When we left it was all Metallica, they really performed well.

I think its amazing that they have been around now for almost 40 years and are still able to play this music at this level in their mid 50's. I cant imagine how their body feels after nearly 2 hours of playing 2 to 3 times a week....lars especially since he is constantly moving alot of his body.
Lars is active either way. The guys from an athletic family. Go follow him on IG and he’s always skiing with “no fucker around” or running through some European city at 1am. They like preforming forsure. Especially when the crowd is giving the energy they put out back to them with signing or doing the heys loud. It pumps them up to hear that their music is hitting the crowd which makes them play better.

I always assumed it was because the rhythm on the drums “inverts” for a few bars, and Lars would probably screw it up. 😅
