It all started around 1917. England is at fault. During ww1 England promised Arabs their land back if they helped fight war against turkey. The Jews were promised a home for their help win the war. The Jews were moved to present day Israel. The problem Palestinians were already living there. Jews with The help of English forced the Palestinians out of their own lands. Palestine has been occupied ever since.
So you don't know how the conflict started? It started before 1917. Almost 100 years earlier. Jews were already trying to return to the homeland and buy land in Palestine.
Arabs didn't like the Jewish population increasing. So they did some attacks on Jewish communities. Jews retaliated and did some attacks on Arab communities.
Until the conflicts, the Jews bought all of their land. They bought it from Arabs even. Then other Arabs attack them over it.
Conflicts continue and eventually the UN is brought in to come up with a solution. A solution the Israelis more or less accepted, a solution the Arabs entirely rejected since they didn't want an Israeli state to exist at all. They still don't, which in modern times is extremely unreasonable.
