My 119 was bought in 1975. It has made many canoe trips down the upper Hudson River starting at Newcomb NY. And down to North creek NY. It's never failed me. I will pass it on to my grandson. Lots of great memories. That knife was with me.

My father bought his 119 when I was in Kindergarden @1969, Many a dinner was brung to the table by that knife, Iam 56 now, my father wanted me to have his Buck before he passed but my brother in law sold it for drugs about 3 months before he passed, it wasn't no super special edition knife but it was a Buck, silver end , black handle so smooth with finger guard, blood groove and up sloping tip, O - and it was to be able to chop a nail in half, I read the papers, dad was so proud,,,, it had an indentation from were i tried, dad's friend resharpened it and cleaned my doings up, dad showed me, i was about 4th grade umm yeah,,,,,,Miss my father greatly these passed 2 years, just my older brother and little sister now, from us 4 kids, I was moved from seeing this video and just wanted to share some of my history with yours.

Then I bought and used several other brands for camping, hiking, kayak, etc. And I came back full circle to my Buck 119. My best knife. By far the most confortable handle. Light. Easy to resharpen on field. Looks amazing. Its my knife. Thanks guys.

It would be like letting the hungry wolf pack in the chicken pen and closing the door behind the last wolf to enter. It only goes one way. Our defense force is inadequate to stop anything and the only defense we have is our vast shore and our vast interior that is mostly uninhabitable. Much of our wildlife is venomous or poisonous and you have to be careful so that would help in a small way. Other than that we are 'sitting ducks'. For someone to actually own a gun they need to have a proper reason (like being a farmer) and pay out their a*s for the appropriate licenses to own the gun and even then we are limited in what guns we can have under those special circumstances we are actually allowed to have them. So what happens is when one silly clown does get a gun no one can stop them and by the time the police are there it is often way too late anyway.

I don't have the model 119, but do have one of your knives with the longest blade. I purchased a model 119 from the base exchange and when I came home and showed it to my grandfather, he decided that he wanted it, so I gave it to him. After returning to my base I looked for another one that size, but they had sold all they had in stock and the only ones left was the knife I purchased which had the longer blade, and I still have it and had it now for about 40 years. I also have the model 110 folding knife which I always had a problem sharpening the blade on, and no one else who knew about knife sharpening could sharpen it either. I saw a model 119 at the local Wal-Mart and almost bought it, and will probably get it after Christmas is over.

Got a 119 many years ago and didn't use it and it sat in a box for 10 years till I was researching to get a basic affordable all around edc woods knife. My wife said why spend money when you can use what you have (my theory is she just wanted another pair of shoes with that cash which yes I did give her and shoes it was😄). Anyway I went to that box and handled all the knives I've bought but never used or used very little. I stopped at the119 I still can't remember why I didn't fall in love with it years ago. Now I've got 2, made a kydex sheath and modded handle and now am edcing the 119. Turns out oldie but a goodie is really true. I suggest to start with a 119 to anyone wanting a versatile fixed blade.

I use knives throughout my day, both for work and for my hobbies. I do a lot of bushcraft and wood carving. I have some very nice handmade customs, but my main knife is the Buck 119. I love Sleipner steel and a few other premium steels, and I appreciate the craftsmanship of my high-end knives, but the Buck 119 has been a faithful and reliable tool since I was 16. The 420HC blade has performed admirably for years, and despite having paid significant sums of money for premium steels I have never experienced Buck’s 420HC to be an under-performer. For daily use and utility value I have always appreciated the zero-maintenance aspect that Buck’s standard steel provides in the form of corrosion resistance. It’s my only knife that I never have to oil, and it is also the only knife that has never had any corrosion. The edge isn’t as long-lasting as my Sleipner edges, but it gets wicked sharp and stays that way for long enough to get any task done without it dulling prematurely. It sharpens easier than my other knives, and is on-par with basic 1095 when it comes to how quickly it sharpens up. It’s a great tool, and I’m thankful to Buck for their reliability.

If I had to narrow it down to the 2 most iconic knives that Buck is known for, I'd say the 119 and the 110 Folding Hunter.

Just bought a 119 today i know very little about knives or really what I was looking for other than a knife that dosent rattle but the moment I first held I felt serendipity.

I consider myself lucky to have one of these. I mean I bought the knife simply because I'm a movie prop collector, and knowing they used the Buck 119 in the scream films, I thought it would be cool to have one. And then when I opened it and I noticed there was that emblem on the side that said 75th anniversary, I was pretty happy about that.

THE SCREAM FILMS DID NOT USE THE BUCK 119, BUT RATHER THE LONGER BUCK 120.

@@davefox7516 I wondered why it looked a little bigger on Scream than in person. Now I know...still looks very similar.

I just recently bought a 75th Anniversary 119. It's hard to describe the pride in ownership that I feel when I hold that knife. I live way too close to your factory. Actually, I'd love to work there on a part time basis.

I bought a small Buck Knife from eBay once.. what arrived was one of these but it was made of brass and when I got the parcel I was like gosh this weights a bit for a small knife. When I opened it I was like WHAT so I was honest and sent it back but they did not have the small buck knife and they told me they substituted me with what they had in their warehouse. They sent it back to me for a positive feedback. I left it in its box and forgot about it but some scoundrel pinched it. I only found out not so long ago they are worth like $300.00 here in Australia. I just polished up a Buck 110 old brass knife for a neighbour and even I was like wow at the end because it was really pretty!! I own a small muddy girl Buck knife and its most common use is helping me to lift up the ends of staples in receipts so I can use a stable removal tool to get the little buggers out so I can scan the receipts and do the bookkeeping work I now do. I know there is a little Buck that is smaller than the 110 but I have never seen one where I live, not that we have many Buck knives here but I will give them the credit they are due.. the Buck's have made the most iconic knife in the history of knives that has clearly lasted and stood the test of time hey!! Even I can see the Buck 110 is a pretty knife and one day I hope to own a silver one and if I buy a few I would want to make them a pretty display cabinet or something but a room full of beanie boo's does not go well with a display cabinet full of Buck knives hey. This room alone has 17 Beanie Boo's in it but I guess at least one shiny Buck Knife could not hurt hey!!
