👍 Number 5 - Hauptmarkt / Christkindlesmarkt
On weekdays you can buy regional and international specialties at the main market and enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the old square.
Colorful market stalls with fresh fruit and vegetables, bright flowers, crusty bread and other goodies.
The famous Christkindlesmarkt also takes place here before Christmas. It is one of the most famous Christmas markets in Germany.
👍 Number 4 - Beautiful fountain
The beautiful fountain is one of the outstanding sights of the city of Nuremberg. Built in 1396, it stands on the edge of the main market next to the Nuremberg town hall.
The beautiful fountain is around 19 meters high and has the shape of a Gothic steeple.
👍 Number 3 - Frauenkirche
The Frauenkirche is prominently located on the main market in Nuremberg and is an impressive sight of the imperial city.
The Catholic church was commissioned by Emperor Charles IV and built between 1352 and 1362.
From the gallery of the Frauenkirche the Christ Child speaks the famous prologue for the opening of the Christkindlesmarkt.
👍 Number 2 - Amber Museum Nuremberg
Not far from the tourist mile you can experience an interesting sight in Nuremberg. An enchanting amber world, just a stone's throw from the main market.
The amber museum houses the largest amber in Germany weighing over 12 kg. It is petrified resin that was believed to have come from a tree that was over 100 meters high and over 15 meters in diameter.
The Amber Museum presents a large selection of historical and modern amber exhibits as well as fine and exclusive jewelry and artifacts. You will experience an exciting insight into the history of fossil resin and enjoy precious, modern to ancient amber works of art.

The Nuremberg Castle is the symbol of the city. It towers 50 meters above the roofs of Nuremberg on a sandstone rock.
The Nuremberg Castle, which is now a museum, is also called the Imperial Castle.
From 1050 to 1571, all Roman-German emperors resided at least temporarily in the imperial castle.
