i feel like people that live and obsess over books like Icebreaker, anything Coleen Hoover, or twisted love series are people that simply skipped their WattPad era when they were 12 years old…. its the only explanation. They must experience this in order to move on to better things
Lmao I agree
@@lily3323whoa whoa whoa calm, my guy. Reading the books isn't the problem here.
to be fair sometimes these books are just kind of fun to read if you don’t take them seriously (not colleen hoover though, she can go far away)
It’s a canon event
For me they are the equivalent to trash tv in a book and somestimes - especially after a hard day - i love to read something like this 😂
"at least on wattpad sh*t like this is free" I SCREAMED PLS
you are so brave for continuously reading tiktok romance books
its hard work but someone's gotta do it
So brave
You are definitely brave for reading TikTok romances😊
YES! Thank you for your service, Lexi! 🫡
Petition for another deranged recap of twisted series.
Twisted Games
Twisted Lies and
Twisted hate !!!
Yes this is a need
Read: I need this more than air
Yeees ,i would die for that!
yessss!!!
Yes we need it
YES PLEASE
This video hits, but overall my favorite piece is the word "divorce" being visible throughout the video
Icebreaker was the first time I legitimately thought I was reading the wrong book from everyone else. I’ll never see Gru the same.
GRU? Like from minions??? What is this book....
Can’t wait for the crime scene board for the rest of the twisted series 😂
The Beartown trilogy made me absolutely sob every book. Probably multiple times each book. Backman is so talented at ripping my heart out.
The only book I've read by him was Anxious People and I really liked it, so I might check this series out
100%. The final book had me reading and sobbing through the night and my husband woke up completely confused .
"and never once did I even TIPTOE around a major that required me to take another math class." - LMAO I legit choked on my coffee 😂 I just finished a math class and the amount of times I asked myself, 'do I even really need this degree?' I'm surprised I even finished. Felt that. love your videos
omg i just passed statistics and probability for my degree and it made me question my decisions too
I'm a psych major and the two required statistics classes are going to be the reason I kms
@@Labinzel oh no! Don't do that! I heard statistics isn't as bad as a fundamental math course but I've never taken it so I could be really wrong about that. YOU CAN DO IT!
@@darthbr3nnan hahaha mine was just a college algebra class. I'm terrible at it. My bf is an engineering major and he helped me a lot. I'm honestly surprised he didn't leave to "pick up some milk" never to be seen again. It was a total nightmare.
Andy Weir is one of my favorite authors ever specifically because of the way he writes science/scientists. It's so detailed and well-researched, but I never get lost or feel stupid. He has a way of explaining things that reminds me of the nicest science teacher you had in early high school, just super friendly and meeting you where you are with your civilian knowledge, without feeling patronizing or condescending at all. The Martian is like that too -- scientific in a way that makes you feel smart for being able to follow it, but not hard to follow at all. Fucking love that guy.
really, really appreciate the title/author/genre in the top corner. also, for way less practical reasons, loved the DIVORCE message in the background
My friend told me about the uber fingering scene in Ice Breaker and I genuinly think about it like once a week because it made me so uncomfortable
I genuinely want to read icebreaker because of the gru costume now
Circe changed my life, no exaggeration. So sorry you got so sick in November, hope you continue to feel better! ❤
I loved Icebreaker when I read it, but I read it before it went viral and so I had zero expectations and went into it blind. But I recognize that it had no plot honestly and it did drive me insane that she somehow wasn’t aware of how her partner treated her. And the “bub” drove me absolutely insane.
But I read icebreaker in one sitting at like 2am and it gave me reading wattpad vibes too but in like a nostalgic way 😂
same! I also promptly forgot most of the plot right after I read it lol but Lexi made me remember it better
The Beartown trilogy is so good. I love Fredrik Backman's writing.
if it makes you feel better, I (as a woman in STEM) am ALSO afraid to read Sci-fi books 😂 i also say this despite the fact that Red Rising is one of my favorite series of all time
17:11 you expressed my thoughts on Emily Henry perfectly: even if they weren't my favourite couple (doormat heroines give me the ick and wyn was bland), the way the book is written and *the vibes* makes the whole reading experience amazing
Your videos have given me permission to NOT read the twisted series, icebreaker, and the like. Truly out here doing the lords work
very excited for the upcoming deep dive on the twisted series. truly, twisted lies continues to be even more unhinged than twisted love. i hate read them out of spite and still can’t pretend it wasn’t deeply entertaining, much to my chagrin.
The bear town series is AMAZING! The last one “the winners” had me crying for days!!!! It’s the best in the whole trilogy
I just finished it and I don’t know when ill ever stop thinking about benji 😭😭
If you think Icebreaker has a paper thin plot, you should read the next book Wild Fire. I skimmed the last 150 pages desperately trying to make it end 😂 it was like some random person I don’t like retelling every minute detail of the summer that they worked at a camp. No climax or major conflict to overcome, just a string of random events
RIGHT! Wildfire made Icebreaker look good.
Fredrik Backman has me in such a chokehold and has for the last 5 years
I’m impressed by your ability to start and finish series. I can not for the life of me move from
Book 1 to book 2. I need to read something else in between. 😅
beartown changed my life. The only reason I haven’t even attempted to start the sequel is because it’s pretty heavily foreshadowed benji will die and I can’t read that right now. Benji is probably my favourite character that I have ever read about. He won’t get a happy ending but he deserves one.
im so happy you read the entirety of TGGGTM! its so good, for me it literally shifted my entire world i loved it too death!!!
my sole purpose in life is to watch your book reviews. hilarious and so painfully accurate. i CANNOT wait for your in depth reviews for credence and the twisted series (twisted love review was phenomenal)
Alright Project hail Mary and Circe going up higher on my TBR!
you can't keep getting away with having correct opinions, lexi!!!!
YESSSS. Circe is so good and one of my all-time favorites. I love to see people loving it 🫶🏻
I listened to As Good As Dead on audiobook and one time I was walking my dogs and a car pulled up and I freaked out
that health update is basically exactly what i went through last spring lmao i didn't know about the congestion either and i was convinced i was dying. victorian children unite 🤝
great video as always btw :D i'm starting beartown soon and now i'm extra hyped for it!!
I loveeeeed project hail mary, it instantly took me out of my real life but also got me more emotional than I would be about my own life 😭
I am so glad that you liked Project Hail Mary! Science fiction is my go-to genre, but that book is still one of my favorites. If you want to read more hard science fiction like PHM, Andy Weir's The Martian is in a similar vein of approachable, but still scientifically grounded. If you like the surprisingly heartwarming nature of it, then I'd recommend literally anything by Becky Chambers, though her work is more soft sci-fi. For classics, The Left Hand of Darkness is amazing, but challenging to get into. There's also a great feminist series called Venus of Dreams from the 80s which is about the multi-generational project of terraforming Venus. So excited that you're interested in reading more sci-fi because I think it's such an amazing genre!
I've only just started reading Becky Chambers, but A Psalm for the Wild Built and A Prayer for the Crown Shy were just so good I wanted to explode. They were so sweet and cozy, but also poignant and made me teary sometimes. I can't wait till I start the Wayfarer's series!!
@@Wildflower1013 omg!! you're going to love the Wayfarer series. Each time I read one of them, I didn't want it to end. They're just so beautiful and kind.
🫡 excellent recommendations thank you so much
@@Wildflower1013Ahhh I love the Wild Built series so much! I love seeing people talking about it ❤
This is 100 % the sci-fi talk that I give people if they ask for recommendations 👀😻 except for Venus of dreams so I need to get my hands on that one!! Do you have any other recs? ☺️
i also read circe in november and honestly same 😭 i feel like madeline miller did an incredible job breaking us and then putting us back together in the span of 330 pages
I love how real your reviews are and I´m here for it.
fredrik backman is my absolute favorite author and i'm so so so glad you loved beartown!! i just watched 2 of your videos and subscribed, and i absolutely love your vibe!! can't wait to watch more :D
The whole Beartown trilogy is AMAZING
your plot recaps genuinely make my entire week. so excited to hear so many are coming!!
the way that you KEPT pulling out some of my all time favourite books made my heart rate spike continuously for the whole video!!! a real rollercoaster when interspersed with credence and archer's voice
this is my first video of you and i can already tell youre one of the few booktubers i can watch without getting bored. and your selection of literary bangers & unhinged romances is just like me, its very comforting. great video!!
Honestly I'm so thankful you came to youtube. I haven't found you on tiktok but you are quickly becoming my favorite booktuber!
i cannot wait to watch the recap videoss!! thank you lexi❣❣
I love your vids soooo muchhhh I literally watch them as soon as they come out even in school!!!! Thanks for everything you do!!!
When you opened the video with Beartown - my all-time favorite book!! - you got a new sub! Also warning that The Winners is in part padded so much, because of all the summarization that happens in the first half...but also that you will be (as expected) devastated
I’m so excited for the twisted recaps just letting u know
you are my new favorite booktuber because somehow i agree with every single thing you say. im just watching your videos and nodding along. everything you say is SO TRUE!!
i’m genuinely, like honest to god, looking forward to the twisted love series recaps. i enjoyed the twisted love video immensely, and i thank you for the fact that i know what the plot is without having had to put myself through the ordeal of reading it.
Really excited to see a lot of books I currently own or have on my kindle in this video, it’s made me really excited to read!
I am so glad that i got to come home to watch this always love a ranty book recap, genuinely your videos always make my day
lexi i NEED an unhinged recap of the rest of the twisted series!!! your twisted love video is my comfort video!! also twisted lies >>>
so glad i saw your tiktok about these bc i knew a video was coming too ❤
It's always such a treat to watch you gush over the books you love. ♥️
Hope you're feeling better now. 😇✨
And you DO NOT have to worry about the videos being too long. We love itttttt. 😂🥰
I get so excited whenever you post. Cant wait for the unhinged twisted series queen you are peak booktuber
also holy shit you tearing into icebreaker i am LIVING for this
That was an interesting watch. I hope you feel better soon / are feeling better now, and have a sick-free December!
Your descriptions of books make me want to read things I never thought I would want to read before. Might help me to open up my genres a little bit. 😄
i'm so glad you loved beartown it was my favourite book i read last year and amen to icebreaker, i'm so glad i dnf'd it
Here for the Icebreaker slander. That uber scene made me shocked and upset.
YEEESSSSS Project Hail Mary!! I really like Andy Weir, I'm currently reading The Martian and its so funny. 10/10 reccomend, scifi is my favorite genre but its so hard to find good ones. ❤
Not me rewatching your videos and then glancing over to see this one from one hour ago. Slay.
I’m glad you are feeling better❤
don’t think i’ve ever needed anything more than a recap of twisted hate + lies.
I always crack up during your videos. Definitely my new favourite booktuber. Love your work Lexi!
MY FAVOURITE CZcamsR POSTEDD !!!❤❤❤❤
idk if this sounds weird but I could listen to you talk about books all day, it's so relaxing but interesting at the same time !!!
You are one of my most trusted book reviewers!! I definitely gotta read project hail mary soon as a scifi lover.
hey lexi i'm so obsessed with your videos and the way you talk about books is truly captivating so thank you for making such great content!!! i'm curious if you've ever read anything by eliza clark cause i don't recall seeing you mention either of her books in previous videos but maybe they've just never fit a video topic. but if you haven't read them, i highly recommend
i recced boy parts in a video :) absolute banger of a book, eliza clark is a crazy person i love it lmfao. i intend on reading her newer one at some point for sure too
it’s a good day when i have a new lexi video to watch! just a heads up, covid really affects your immune system even if it seems like a mild infection, and it does every time you get it, which is why you may have noticed waaaaay more people getting sick even if it’s not covid & why it’s much easier for you to get sick/have it be worse on you. glad you’re doing better now. be careful out there and take care of yourself! ❤
I'm so glad you read Project Hail Mary!!! aaaaah so good!!!
*notification* hmm what could this be- OH MY DEAR JESUS DROP EVERYTHING SHE’S UPDATED
I need to wash dishes and start then start my work-from-home job. The executive dysfunction is real today. I was going to put on a podcast, but thought some booktube content sounded better. Perfect timing! I’m a newer subscriber but have really appreciated your videos so far 🖤
PLEASE recap the twisted series. All of them. I need to hear it 😂 those books are crazy
I love Beartown so much!!! The Winners was my favorite of the three and I still think about it even though I read it almost a full year ago. You will need that wellness check
came here from your tiktok video to get your more in depth opinions!!! glad you're feeling better- i had noticed i hadn't seen you on my fyp in a while!
The tonal shifts of this recap honestly made me laugh. Your ability to read so widely is inspiring!
I read the whole thing not so long ago and for some reason it made me happy to hear that you decided to continue with A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series!
The fact that the first twist in the last book was so predictable only for the second one to come and be the definition of unhinged is still my favorite thing about the entire series 😂
You seriously have the cutest sweaters. I am so jealous!
been watching your videos for a little while now, but never stopped to say how much I love your earrings !
because of this video (and the vlog where you originally read it), i read a good girls guide to murder, and it was so so good and im definitely gonna read the sequels as soon as i can. idk if youll ever read this comment but i just wanna say that in the past couple months, your whole channel has helped me so much when it comes to reading, and you genuinely helped me get back into it after not having done it for too many years. love your channel and again tysm !!!!
I love hearing you validate my DNFs. I put Icebreaker down after two chapters. I feel like I definitely made the right choice now.
ahhh yes new lexi content!!!
oh i loove the beartown trilogy!! and the winners ripped my heart out 😀have fun reading it
Stopped to read the beginning of Beartown after your description of it, and wow I am glad that you recommended it, I'm loving it so far! Also the new vids have all been great, so glad I subscribed :)
@newlynova I'm about 2/3 of the way through and am still so engaged!
your reaction to the end of circe is so real bc i was in pieces when i finished it earlier this year 😭
I’m so glad you liked Project Hail Mary, it’s one of my favourite books 😍
Circe is so great. I'll be reading Project Hail Mary soon, so I'm excited about that. Also I relate so hard to your dislike towards math ahah
I freaking loooooved Project Hail Mary ♥️ glad you liked it too
AGREEEEE with your comments on Happy Place. I still enjoyed it mostly but the whole miscommunication trope is not for me. Love her books otherwise.
I just started Circe last week! It took me til ch 4 to get into it. I’m glad to see you rated it so highly because I’m enjoying it so far. 😊
Have you read Scythe?? It’s YA but I think you’d have a good time with it!
In my reading journal for this book i wrote “use your words people!!”
@@denisekrueger8745 the entire book would be solved if they just communicated!
I was really surprised when the first book turned out to be the book I read in Swedish class last year. I personally didn’t enjoy it that much but I’m glad you did. :D
The winners is so devastating but so worth it I can’t wait to see what you think of it!!!
Just want you to know that this channel might be my favorite content on the internet
Amazing video!
i am casting my vote for doing a recap of the twisted love series! it dosnt have to be as much of a production as the first one, it could even be the two combined if they were that boring lol
I just found your channel and binged a bunch of your videos. I love how you talk about books! And I’m writing down some of your 5 star recs for my book club 😁
i just read beartown because of this video and now you and fredrik backman both owe me financial compensation for the emotions that it made me feel
Everything you said about Icebreaker is SO spot on😩
The picture of you reading Circe 😂 I love your book recs! I’m glad I’m not the only one getting destroyed by books 📚
i have loved ALL of the fredrik backman books i've read so far, and i consider him to be one of my favourite authors of all time. that said, i couldn't really get past the initial character intros to Beartown even though I'd heard so much about it. Your review, however, has made me incredibly excited to pick it back up again, especially as a cozy winter read.
Everyone was sick this month . Glad that you’re feeling better ❤
Love your channel!! Bought Icebreaker just before hearing your review, but your description made me laugh so hard can't wait to get to the parts you mentionned. At least I know what I'm getting into :'))
