  • Developmental Language Disorder (or DLD for short) is a type of neurodiversity like autism, ADHD and dyslexia.
DLD is common. If you know 100 people, the chances are, you know 7 people with DLD.
DLD occurs in every language and every country across the world.
People with DLD find understanding and using language, including words and sentences, particularly challenging.
DLD is ‘developmental’ which means it starts in childhood, but it doesn’t go away.
As individuals grow, what DLD looks like and how it impacts changes, which means support needs to change too.
    It's about growing with DLD.
Acknowledgment: RADLD commissioned Lily Farrington, a talented artist + young person with DLD, to create this incredible animation. Once again, she has exceeded all expectations. Thank you Lily!
Support #DLDday on Friday 14th October 2022. Find out more at RADLD.org.
