Thanks for having me! Happy to answer follow up questions if anyone has any in the comments.
(Although I can't help you if your channel is about drinking coffee)
Tea supremacy!
Thank you for your advices, they're very helpful! Have a beautiful day!
Tea supremacy!
Everything people needed to know was covered in this video 😎
Thx for these helpful tipps!
Amazing video worth of a sub!! Even though I don't consider myself a beginner anymore, I still remember getting started. It was a tough journey. Of course, things are a lot easier now and I'm super grateful that I didn't give up and stayed patient all the way through. Consistency and hard work (I have also used a little bit of Famester to take off my channel, and I don't regret it) is the key for small channels and, in my experience always pay off.
Famester and such services will kill your retention rate.
But you have just 72 subs? That's weird lol
@@prettytopia It's probably an alt so people don't spam his channel when they disagree with his comment. I've run into that problem a few times, and it's really annoying to deal with. I used to do the same thing, but it eventually just became to annoying to manage switching between accounts, so I stopped doing it.
@@MicahIsBatman2 ah makes sense
@@prettytopia it's spam accounts. Loads of them about... They leave long comments and then casually mention famester.
I imagine the service is actually pretty poor, if they need to use marketing tactics like this..
Upload shorts and hope they go viral. I went from 0 subs to 37k subs in two years and growing fast. 🎉
You're growing slow bud
Spiffing Brit's got pointers, but the CZcams game's got layers. It's a mix of quality content, smart moves, staying true to your vibe, and really vibing with your audience.
I love that this video unifies different ideas for whichever content creation paths you could take. There’s not one perfect path, but the one that is perfect for you.
its like types of tea! Everyone has their own perfect brew
Absolutely! 😊
Considering Spiff is my literal all time favorite content creator, and i am an aspiring content creator, I absolutely love that this video exists. Thank all of you so very much for taking the time to do this!!!!
Man this was a great video. Love all the VidIQ content. I've had my small channel for a year, and struggle finishing content as I have a lot of research to do and want to do high quality. I experimented with lower quality videos to get more content and that didn't work. I'm really wanting to get to the next step and make a steady income even if it doesn't pay me as a full time job. I really love making the content.
My biggest things I have done was change my thumbnail style. Using more eye catching colors. Another thing is my style of story telling even tho I am just playing a video game. Making every game session an experience or story has gave my subscribers something to look forward to. Even though they have played the same game, hearing it as a story in someone else’s POV makes a world of a difference!!! Thanks VidIQ for providing some key things that pivoted my channel!
Keep growing! 💪
Yay for Spiffing Brit making an appearance here, SUCH a fun channel and educational but you don't even know you're getting smarter while you watch him!
Smarter?
@@echtesnorwegen Ever seen his channel?
The chocolate covered carrot 😂
Great information shared by great people.
Thanks vidiq and brit
🎉
Anytime!
Great advice! I am excited to see everyone's journey as they grow and continue to create content.
Much appreciation for creators like you for teaching smaller channels the ropes of gaining a bigger audience. Videos like this helped me grow my channel to 100 subs in a month (much more than I expected lol) and gives me hope for getting monetized by the end of the year 🙌🏾 I only have 3 videos out now but I’ve been working on my consistency cause I know that’s a big part of what it takes if not the most important. Glad that I’ve at least got the ball rolling now though 🔥
Honestly by far the best advice given in ages. I agree with a lot of what he said because lately I've been testing out some things he mentioned on my own and I could see the vids I tested on were getting better than my old vids and my struggling vids. It's still a learning curve and a lot of trial and error but it's working and easier than all the stuff we're used to being told
This was great, thank you!
Thank you so much for yet another great, inspirational video. It’s helping us get started. Cheers 😊
😢🎉❤
I'm a very smalltuber, been on and off for like 10 years now with very little groth to show for it, thanks for the good ideas and tips, will be looking deeper into my channel and what things to chnage!
It was at the point where thespiffingbrit say 'I use VidIQ controll tools' that I realised this was a stealth ad.
Amazing video guys, good to see you are willing to challenge and question your own advice in order to provide organic content.
TLDR; Everyone's trying to be the BIG FISH in a vast sea of creators in a specific competitive niche, instead; Become a BIG FISH in a small pond(specific untouched niche), and if the time that the pond is too small for you you have the choice to scale up and go to a bigger body of water(competitive space)
I like this because sometimes, as a new channel, we think about just getting content out all the time without realizing that quality is super important (unless on a trend that's a good thing to get on top of)
Good Information shared.
Thanks VidIq
Thanks for useful information. Great video 👍
Very good video! Loved hearing insights from an experienced youtuber that is doing very well.
Thank you for sharing this and big thanks to Spiff. This was very helpful and had me re-thikning a few things for my own channel.
CZcams has been a beautiful platform to connect with like-minded souls, and I'm so thankful for the sense of belonging it brings.
I've been seeking out new connections, finding those who resonate with my essence.
I'm growing simply because I focus on what other creators don't focus on.
When I started off with CZcams officially 3 months ago, I knew Minecraft content was incredibly competitive, and a year ago I wouldn't have even considered it. But I have a ton of ideas that, apparently, have not been done before, and 75% of those ideas have not even come to pass yet.
I first jumped on trending topics and created my own editing style that outdid other creators in this niche. Not talking about cool edit montages, just a well-led story. After gaining views and more subscribers from that, I switched to ideas that were unique but still relevant to the niche. As such, I now have 10k subscribers and average 100k views per video. And I'm yet to enter the phase (which is planned out) where I'll get millions of views.
If you put your mind to it and have full dedication to grow, then you'll succeed, but sadly 90% of youtubers will quit half-way. I've had my lows as well, but I never quit, I change the plan.
You got this! 💪
Wow, I can see that your subscribers has quadrupled since. I hope I could also get to your level.
As a fisherman, the pond example really hit home guys! Well done.
Golden interview, love all the question you asked 💯Suggestion : you should do an interview with a travel channel, we see a lot gaming channel (nothing against that), but it would be nice to a perspective of a travel channel. Thanks!
Sure!
I really enjoy showing thespiffingbrit and it's nice to get other creators opinion on growing your channel
I appreciate you guys and y’all inspire me to always keep pushing!! I have about 350 subs after 5-6 months!! Sometimes I feel like that isn’t that great but knowing everything I’ve put into it makes it feel MONUMENTAL!! Appreciate y’all always inspiring! Many thanks ViDiQ!!
What a wonderful insight. and Spiffing Brit is really great and I love his content. I sometimes just have it in the background and listen to his witty comments.
Thank you for the tips and this will probably help me grow as well.
All of this becomes useless when youtube itself doesn't push out your video or shorts 💔
Right. I have shorts that have double digit views in weeks 😂 while I got 200 views in tiktok on the first day
it does give it a boost similar to all uploaded videos in the world, but if it doesn't bring enough attraction at first, then it will simply be on the grave, I know it's hard to accept but if your video isn't pushed enough, then it's not youtube's fault, it's your fault, either you like it or not.
Very informative. Thanks for this advice 😃
great points both with finding your pond and with the frequency of videos :)
Great video, keep it up😊😊😊

This was a very informative video. Thanks for sharing 😊
This is amazing ❤
Thanks for your guide was what I needed❤❤
Thank for sharing.
That voice crack at start of the video made me like and subscribe, great work !
Please help me, where do you find the clips you add in between in the video
Okay, I heard "do your strategic thing and just keep going." I am walking that walk, for sure. I recently came to the conclusion that my thumbnails will never be that great, so I stick with telling people what it's about in 5 or fewer words OR playing on curiosity. I am pulling back on 2 long videos a week, especially after my 49-minute comparison one that took me a while to edit down. I am dedicating time to research, do a few shorts every week, and expand to 2 other platforms to get some more exposure. I'm definitely growing and want to grow more, but there's only so much I can control. 😂
I do baking tutorials and i have a homestead (not on my channel though) and i speculated in one video about swapping out the chicken egg for duck egg. I got comments from viewers saying it sounded cool and they had never done it either. So i check around and the only videos i could find about involved hatching duck egg or cooking just duck egg. Even though duck egg is rather common in baked goods. So i made a video for a pancake recipe and i did a double. I made one batch with chicken egg and the other with duck, side by side comparisons and my thoughts and opinions. Its one of my most popular videos
And I'm the only video i could find doing it
Wow, i needed to see this. Thanks.
Thank you for guide us VIDIQ always❤
the spiff is perfectly balanced, that is why he is at the top of the food chain
Great video guys ✌️very helpful
I hope for your small channel to grow❤🎉

Where did you purchase the led lights?
I definitely follow the quantity advice. Just get going is the way I see it.
Helpful 🍄
You guys have helped me SO MUCH! I've been watch your videos for years studing and now im putting everything into play and SPOILER ALERT: ITS WORKNG! Just REMEMBER GUYS! ALWAYS TRY YOUR BEST
You got this! 💪
@@vidIQomg again? Lol since ik Vicky runs the live chat are you Vicky?
This was a great video! Thank you VidIQ and Spiffingbrit!
I think everyone is different. I think sometimes it's not always about quality. it's about perfect timing and what's the content.I did a shark video short that gained like 4 million views. I did notice that sometimes videos that are more shocking tend to blow up more.
It's great to hear Spiffing Brits opinions on this. There's a few things that are different to what I've heard. It's something I'll think about and see how I can apply it to my channel.
Go for it!
nice tips
inbthere a full-length video or podcast of this interview?
So how am I suppose to change the thumbnail after I've edited and re-upload to my channel on my desktop? I know you can pick frames from mobile phones but there's currently no options on desktop to do so.
thank you, i really enjoy making my videos and my thumbnails, i have just started and i am really enjoying the proccess. i am excited for the future hopefully i can one day make it
Need more of these interviews. 🎉😍
Thanks for your great guidance 🙏
thanks for the tips 👌
This video is encouraging and enlightening. Thank you 💜
Keep growing!
1:57 - "There's no point worrying about 'Is the thumbnail the best thumbnail that's ever existed on a video?'"
8:16 - "Thumbnail and title design is very important for your long-term success"
So are thumbnails important or not? Have I misunderstood the advice?
are very important but the videos concept is more important than the thumbnail. You could have the best minecraft 100 days video thumbnail but the video is going into a saturated market. Much better to have an OK thumbnail for say an up and coming indie game that does not have any competition
This video answered so many questions for me as a starting CZcamsr I was really concerned about quality vs quantity and I think it will be a game changer for me… thank you VidIQ
Super helpful
Damn, this was very informative! gg Spiff!
Being an outdoor creator that started with very cheap and basic camera gear and very limited knowledge of editing I am wondering, Should I refilm some of my older content. Things such as Bush Walks that were done several years ago with very shaky footage. Should I refilm them now that I have much better camers, editing gear, mics and knowledge?
You can just create a new video on the same topic if it performed well.
Consisteny is key🔑
LETS GO!! Spiffing Brit!
Wow thank you, thank you thank you!!!
Thanks for video, i will try to crack the code to but in my own way. Its hard to get started but hopefully i get there one day.
That's Amazing Tutorial...Thank You vidIQ 💖💖
so informative
I wanted to ask, you make videos basically on how to succeed here on CZcams. But on the other side, even when you have over 1.65M subscribers, your videos usually don't even get to 100K views - Why? Althrough I think that your videos are great, they have good titles and thumbnails, well edited and they make their point. Thanks for answering!
I guess it's because people watch the video, try these things and still don't make it, and then it's not worth to watch another. I take these videos with a grain of salt, there are a ton of big CZcamsrs out there who will tell you it's mostly luck and if you have a big subscriber base and don't mess it up much, there is probably no one who can steal that base and small channels stay small because of the much lower subscriber base in the first place. If let's say a German "Gronkh" has 2,2m subs and nearly entire Germany knows its name, you can do better content no matter what, ppl will watch "Gronkh", not the small Channel. They are used to the voice, know the person etc.
There are many people who got famous because they randomly met very big established creators or big creators made them big with twitch raids etc. It' like being in the industry, if you're big and you got the money, you got possibilities and much more chances, if you're small you got no power, no big audience, not much chances and rely mostly on luck. Most people don't want to hear that, and I guess even VidIQ would say it's wrong. But thousands if not millions can tell you another story.
I also made some videos no one did and earned my first 1000 Subs and many views, and it stopped when some big creators copied my idea and pushed out more videos of it (because I can't do it full time) and they even had not the quality I had. Still, they stole it and dropped my views tremendously. So yeah.
CZcams tips & strategies is a fairly niche market and vidIQ is very aware of this. The majority of their sub base probably started off as potential content creators but then eventually those viewers move on (but are still subscribed). Vid IQ is constantly serving new viewers, people who become interested in CZcams, and like the viewers before many of these viewers will give up on the CZcams journey and move on. Low views compared to subs does not mean they are doing bad, this is simply the market they are in, and it still works for them.
