This was a blast! More please … and thank you! 🥰
😍😍😍
As someone with a degree in history (focusing on social and cultural history), I can't get enough of these kinds of videos! I love learning about how people lived, and what they used in their daily lives. Thank you for making such awesome content!
I'm thrilled you love it, so many makeup history fans here! 💘 xx
Have you read A History of Private Life? I think you can only find these volumes used now, but it is a wonderful (five-volume) compilation of how people lived their day-to-day lives, from the classical period to WWI, and it focuses on things like the architecture of the home (think whether an era had bedrooms for couples or not), hairstyles and cosmetics, fashion, etc.
@anakreyszig303 That sounds really interesting! Thank you for sharing!
I'd ❤ to see Lisa Eldridge and Erin Parsons together talking and showing historical makeup 😍
Please bring your blush back!! Please say it’s soon! 🙏
I'm working on it - so sorry for the delay ! Xx
@@LisaEldridge thank you so much, I’ll be first in line!

I remember my husband enjoying so much your series about make up history 🤩. I love the fact that with you it’s not only about products but the interesting facts and history behind them. It’s so good to learn something new. Thank you Lisa ⭐️
I ❤ your history of makeup videos. The “Biba” girl look was a fave. More, please!
YES MORE COSMETIC HISTORY PLEASE LISA 😭 i would extra love to see modern takes on vintage looks
Nothing puts more life into the skin than a beautiful blush ☺. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, Lisa.
Thank you for watching 💕💕
So true, I've been improving in my makeup lately, still simple but wanting that refined look in the works of classic professionals like Lisa. I keep looking at before and after pics of how I used to do my makeup because they seem so similar but one is clearly better... It's the blush and bronzer, the stuff that removes that flattened boring effect from just using foundation and powder. Two subtle products and everything changes!
😊hi Lisa, that was so much fun, you had a bit of a giddy mad scientist vibe. The last look was my favorite. So pretty. Loved this ! would love to see more beautiful historical content and paintings.
The older I get the more I find this is true. In my teens I would have said that concealer and eyeliner would be my must applies before leaving the house and many decades later it is blush and mascara.
When Lisa does blush...❤🎉😊the Angels Sing! Those BBC series ... another incredible production🙏💗🌹
I could watch you making ye old make up all day long! I love your collection of historic make up and how respectfully you treat them. They are all a part of our history and watching you show us how they were used is just the most satisfying thing ever! I studied Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Sciences at uni and still have some old 'recipes!' This video is my heart. And I love how you use your knowledge and expertise to bring the absolute best products from your own range! Love love love this video, thank you for sharing, Lisa and bringing us into your wonderful world! 💕🩷💕
They are my babies ! 😂 Thank you for watching xx
I’ve always loved Lisa’s videos but mostly the history of makeup videos!! Please more of these and maybe an updated collection of vintage makeup!!
The first Lisa video I watched was on Makeup History. This remains my favorite type of content! So informative, watching how the techniques and formulas develop is fascinating!
Definitely more history! The history of kohl, mascara & lipstick please❤
I admire your confidence in applying anything to your face with no fear of the possible consequences this is so fascinating I hope it would be a continued series
😂❤️
We can watch your videos about history of makeup for hours, Lisa!
Thank you for watching xx
Absolutely obsessed with the history of makeup. Please continue the series
The more I age, the more I ❤ blush, its really transformative & youthful ...thank you for sharing 3 eras 🥰
Blush is my favorite! Thanks for the deep dive!
😘😘😘
Being in Canada I was having hard time watching your BBC series! But one day during my fashion week flights, miracle happened and this original episode was shown!! Wish I could see more, so yes please Lisa, more!!! Xoxo
This could be a tv show on the History Channel! The production and quality is incredible, and it's so fascinating to hear about all the history.
Lisa, I would LOVE to hear you talk about all things makeup for hours! I loved your series so much.
thank you for watching the series! so happy you loved it x
LISA, I absolutely loved this video. I love everything about makeup and skincare. I also love HISTORY about EVERYTHING. I hope you will do more videos like this and more videos more often. Maybe once a week. That would be so AWESOME. Love watching you do makeup and all the techniques you show. PLEASE DO MORE. THANKS SO MUCH :-) YOU ARE AWESOME 🙂
Thank you for watching 💘💘
I enjoy these historical episodes!!
I so enjoy these history lessons! Carry on!
I loved the series. So yes more please. I love history and makeup
Your enthusiasm and love of makeup, its history and its evolution is what I feel every time I watch you. Whether it's a history lesson, or a makeup tutorial, even your product launches. I never imagined I would enjoy learning about cleansers. Your product launch for your cleanser was so inspiring, I remember telling my partner about the plants around the Roman baths, you do that, you bring your love of the subject into everything you do and I'm inspired... So yes, more please ❤
this means so much to me, thank you for all your support, and the kind words ❤
YES to more content regarding historical make up looks, formulas and ideology! It's fascinating, and as a successful contemporary make up artist, your approach this is unique.
Loved this! More, please. That blush color at the end - do it! So beautiful on her skin.
The editing and all the bells and whistles in this video blows me away. Whoever does it is great at it.
Thank you so much, so happy you enjoyed it 🥰 the clips are from my BBC documentary xx
YES PLEASE!!! ❤❤❤ I absolutely loved seeing the History of Blush and the Authentic Recipes!! 😊
The history of makeup is sooo great. More of this, please
❤❤❤
One of my favourite BBC docs of all time! More more more!
I loved this series, and watched it multiple times. This video is a fascinating way to view the development of a specific product through the eras. Yes, more please. If I could add one thing, it would be to include the development of your own products at the end. This could highlight inspirations, developments, and pitfalls. Thank you for the content!
That's a great idea - thank you 😍
Plus one on that last idea! 👌🏼🙌🏼
Yes!! More makeup history!!
The 'rouge' (as they called it then) that my dear mother used, she used to buy from Woolworths.. it was in a little black and white round cardboard box ... by Bourjois. It had a tiny little puff inside it. I remember that so vividly... ❤
The vintage collection we need to see more of and all love
To whoever is reading this and might struggle rn for whatever reason, please keep going, you're doing fine! No matter how slow your progress, each new week is filled with tiny steps forward. Be proud of yourself you got this! It’s worth hanging in there, it truly is. Stay strong kind strangers!❤
Thank you for your kind support!! Big hug to you
Yes please Lisa! We want MORE!!!
I love your makeup history videos! please keep them coming 😊
What FUN!! Yes to more makeup history 🎉
I too love the backstory of makeup. More of these please!🙋♀
Blush is my favorite makeup item. And, yes, please, give us more of this kind of content.
My husband is a rocket scientist (literally), and he is rarely impressed by anything. As a history buff, he loved your makeup up book, as did I. This is a wonderful idea, the historical context is most interesting. I love when your eyes light up applying the blush, pure delight,
Thrilled you both loved Facepaint ! 😍 Xx
Love makeup history and seeing you in the lab recreating recipes as authentically as possible. More please!
I'd love to make more, I'm so happy you enjoyed it xx
Love, love, love this content. More please!
Love this! More please! 🩷
Please please please do more of these type of videos Lisa. It’s obvious you have such a passion for the history of makeup and I really enjoy that too. Maybe something on the history of foundation and the trend of being very pale to show you were a lady of leisure and didn’t have to work outdoors to the trend of being very tanned to show how wealthy you were in going to far flung hot countries for vacation. Also the trend in sunbeds to the faux pas of that now. Also the huge movement in sunscreens which was practically unheard of in my youth in the 80’s. Thanks Lisa 😊❤😊
Yes please!!! More of this !!!
Loved this content and learning the history of blush and creations through the centuries.
I loved this series! So thoughtfully and beautifully executed. It's always a pleasure to see you in historian-mode. As an art historian myself, I've always wondered what Madame de Pompadour had on her little pink brush in the portrait by François Boucher!
YES! I would love more of this! I love it 😍🙏🙏
Please more! I love the historical content ❤
More please! Always used to love your makeup history videos ❤
❤️❤️❤️
So interesting!! Yes please more history of makeup love it xxxx
I can’t believe CZcams didn’t tell me when this video dropped! I have notifications on (one of only 2 I have that set for! Rajiv Surendra’s channel is the second for any curious readers looking for another “authentic” channel among the masses). And I’ve watched all these interesting “history” ones. I think it’s a CZcams glitch! Please don’t stop making these types of videos just because the view count for this video looks lower - so many of us LOVE these!
Love this series. Fascinating how products were made and use.
I found myself mesmerized by this video...the techniques & sources of color. It's interesting the difference in color selection from earlier on. Now we have so many, too many, to choose from lol..and yet the ones you showed here look so much more natural on the skin. Thank You for sharing, Lisa.🌸
Oh, I loved this video! Going to search for other snippets I can watch. Your historical collection is so wonderful.
I’m here for all things vintage! This was a great video.
Yes! More of this kind of content, please! ❤
This is so fascinating! I love the entire video and the concept!
Thank you 😍 Xx
Love makeup history, please do more of these ❤
So fascinating! Thank you for this lesson in the history of blush!
Looove these videos with history! I want that 1920s blush shade 👀
more recreations of original formulas--it reminds me of mixing glazes or nail polish. I love the chemistry. more!!! beautiful colors.
I’d absolutely love to see a new 18th century inspired blush from you!
Love this! Would love to see more of your vintage makeup collection.
I would love to see an update of the “makeup for mature skin” video! So many new things to try!
Yes, please, on more of this sort of content! I love learning about the history. Similarly, I also very much enjoy when you've showcased a makeup muse and the history behind the muse, like the video of Theda Bara makeup. Thank you, Lisa!
More please, more please, more please. Also, more LE vintage inspired makeup. Maybe a vintage eyeshadow palette. 🤩
My palettes are inspired by vintage cases 😍 Xx
Would absolutely love more of this content! More makeup history please! ❤
These are so interesting; I love the historical videos. I have a blush in an art deco gold metal and black enamel compact. My daughter bought it for me at an estate sale consignment store, along with a powder compact intended to hold loose powder. It has a sort of presser. Anyway, the blush is a perfect medium neutral pink and came with a square flat applicator like the one that was shown as a sample in this video. What was interesting to me is that this applicator works quite well in smoothing on the blush. We’re so used to brushes, but it’s fun to play with other types of applicators.
This is so fascinating! Thank you, Lisa! ❤
Fascinating - yes please!
I love your videos on the history of makeup! All of it: the looks, the formulations and science behind them, as well as the social history. And I, too, can't wait until your blushes come back!
I can't wait for them to come back too ! I'll keep you updated, I'm working on it xx
I remember the rouged old ladies from when I was a little girl. I was always fascinated looking at the pink-red powder coloring their wrinkled cheeks. Occasionally it would be a hot pink color. I’m in my 60s now so these women would have started wearing their makeup in the 1920s. Sometimes I was lucky enough to see them pull out a plastic pot of rouge and watch them apply it. If I was really lucky they had a beautiful metal compact I could admire. I specifically recall one with a swirly art nouveau design. It never looked close to natural but I still enjoyed looking at their cracked rouged cheeks. I think I found it comforting because my grandmother was one of those rouged old ladies.
Great memories ! Xx
I loved reading your comment!! My nanna was one of the cracked rouge cheeked ladies and I adored her!❤
I’ve seen your lovely documentary twice now so I would really love to see more of your vintage collection of makeup please ❤
Thank you so much for watching ❤️
Yes, more please! It's so enlightening to learn about these processes, it's a window into the lives of the people back then, and brings us more respect for their ingenuity. I remember my mom saying how she had to make her own blush and lipstick as a young mom of several toddlers in the 50s, (my older siblings)-- she had to use what was on hand and scrape every drop from her old store bought items.
LOVED THIS! Please do more videos on the history of Makeup !!
Loved this Lisa! Keep this fascinating contents coming 🩷
😘😘😘

Love it! I cannot wait for your next book. Right now, I would love a new tutorial. Something editorial! I recently watched Thomas Crown Affair and Shane Paish's work on Rene Russo. I so love these looks - minimal mascara, a tasteful hand....I am so inspired by watching this movie again.
I loved this. Please show us more!
I loved your tv series on the history of makeup, and a dear friend who I introduced to you bought me your beautiful book for my birthday. ❤️💖❤️
