- guess wave 3 had to happen eventually, looks like that time is now.
as per the rule, there won’t be a DEFINITIVE Ethereal Workshop video until the island is completed, so the “Messing With” series will continue bi-wavely (i.e., every other wave/update)!
volume adjustments, modified tracks, more echo and reverb, and an update to the NEW verse! i hope you enjoy this rendition as much as the last, and i’ll see you in my next fuller-length video! :)

The fact that just a simple reverb prevented the monster's' tracks from ending up so sharp is so satisfing. Thanks man, love the remix 🥺🧡

@@theLucidLibrary to be fair, i did recreate the song from scratch with all the individual tracks, so i’ve listened to the og tracks next to the ones with more reverb countless times 😅

Okay, using the added verse for Whaill’s unused track is a wonderful idea. I really hope that track gets utilized somehow; it’s way too beautiful to be left unused.

This is a great way to style your definitive/messing with series, it shows the monsters in a nuce and clean way, while going more into depth as to what you changed, and this cover overall sounds very nice

It's been god knows how long since I've watched that show...
Quite unfortunate it got cancelled.
Im really loving how the developers are turning to less conventional sounds and designs for the workshop monsters, and this is mostly why im so excited for each update, i really dont know what to expect each time!

I feel like they're either beginning to run out of ideas and just going for all the most wretched Monster designs, or they just realised that the instability of these Monsters gave them a chance to go as crazy as they felt fit for the designs

np. i originally wanted the monsters to be introduced one at a time, but because i extended the song, the beginning was really jarring without Yooreek

Before any MSM stuff from Alex, just that one monster was named Oaktopus and that different rarities of monsters can come from eggs. That kind of basic stuff that anyone who even saw someone else play probably knows.

Didn't expect it to release so soon. I was really looking forward to this, specially after your first video on the workshop managed to capture my heart.
On a side note, did you try to experiment with Nitebear's sound effects (the weird background voices)? They are barely audible in the song, but add a lot to the monster.
I think it might be worth to check if amplifying them would make a worthwhile addition (and not ruin the song).
i also like Nitebear’s background voices, so i left them be. i could try amplifying them for the next rendition, didn’t realize how quiet they were. thanks for the suggestion!

heres a recommendation: for the last measure (i think thats a measure length) of the fourth verse, remove everyone except yooreek, so the tongue can sing its last 8 notes and then everything goes back to normal when the third track plays

Now that update 4 is out, here is me ideas:
X'rt plays on the first whaill verse like dis:
Track 1 - Idle - Track 2 - Idle
Pentumbra plays at the end of the first 2nd track auglur verse
Then in the whaill secret track verse/second auglur 2nd track verse, yooreek's 2nd track plays at the end aswell
Piplash plays at the part after the 3rd time yooreek does track 1 and the part where yooreek plays it's 2nd track originally
Those are my ideas, feel free to use them if u want to

This genuinly feels like the more finished version. The current one just feels a little bit too short. And piplash barely plays (i mean you didnt change that part but i still really like the ending verse). I know more waves are to come but till then this is how it gonna sound in my head lol.

what do u think about trying to beat the game using only 0 sun cost plant ( no mints ), and so u have them maybe use an existing save with all of them unlocked so its possible, maybe?,

i don’t do custom verses 😅 however, i will experiment with that for my next rendition and see how it sounds

What does reverb even do? Is it just to say it but not do anything?
it’s super subtle, but its purpose is to add more dimension to a monster’s vocals/sound (such as Auglur or Whaill), or to cover up abrupt stops in a monster’s tracks (such as Nitebear and Meebkin)

I love most of this, but the flasque addition right before Whaill kind of ruins the suspense for me and lowers the impact of the sudden chorus.

May I ask what's modified on Meebkin's second track?
of course. usually their track ends at the end of Whaill’s first verse and then starts up again at Auglur’s first verse.
so, i decided to modified their track to go from the start of Whaill’s first verse to the end of Auglur’s first verse to avoid them stopping and then playing again. def a personal preference, but that’s it!

Surprised you didn't add piplash to another verse
i tried, but i couldn’t find a good place to add their melody too. they don’t play in the chorus, so adding them would be jarring, and i didn’t want to add them at the end because i wanted to give Nitebear and Whaill the spotlight
i’ll have to wait for the next wave to experiment with them more, maybe they’ll add a new verse :)

Personally I like Venshun, I think some its body looks a bit too plain, but the sound is so unusual and I love it. Piplash is Piptrash. I honestly think a new sound would suit it better.
@@thinkmin2584 Piplash is not the best, but i like their design a lot. definitely a weird inclusion, but really unique. Vhenshun sounds good overall, and looks really cool. i think they can be a bit much at times, but BBB used them the perfect amount imo!
