  • Hard to believe it's been five years since we attended the La Verne Cool Cruise for the first time. Since our first time attending in 2014, it has always been one of the highlight shows of the year, with a wide variety of classic cars, hot rods, and street rods from around the San Gabriel Valley. The show is hosted by Cal-Rods, and about 350 cars take to the streets surrounding Old Town La Verne and the University of La Verne in the annual Cool Cruise, always held the day before Easter Sunday. Luckily for us the show organizers changed the way the cars lined up to get into the show. In previous years cars might come into the show in one long single file line, or they might start rolling in before we arrived. This year, however, there were three long lines to get into the show, and we got a majority of the show cars rolling in. Combined with perfect weather, this made for one of the most memorable La Verne Cool Cruise's we have been to!

So glad there is NO music or noise in the video. Only the sound of the cars and trucks. The way people want these videos. Good job.

Superb presentation, magnificent American cars, great sounds, an absolute pleasure to watch, as I have done with so many of your videos. Greetings from the Train Lord in South Australia a long way away from this epic action.

@@twinrodders when I lived in Dallas back in 1984 a friend of mine had a V8 1957 Chevrolet which was awesome fun to drive around in. I see so many 1957 Chevys at these rallies. I have filmed old vintage cars here in Adelaide South Australia called the Bay to Birdwood. You might like to have a look. I am surprised that there are not more vintage car shows being filmed on CZcams. I have seen a couple of yours however.

I look at a lot of these rallies on CZcams. This may be the best one, so far. Really Great!

Sound is as good as the visuals. I replicate this once in a while on my dining room table with 1/64 diecast cars with engine sounds provided by me.

Love it! I prefer cruise ins to regular car shows. We used to have two of them on Friday nights approximately a mile apart and it was fun cruising between the two. Now they are split into Friday and Saturday night. Really good bunch of folks and good family fun. I have a 1971 Chevelle SS replica and a 2018 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus that I cruise in. Just a good time! Great video!

Great coverage of a great show. Had hoped to have our '64 Comet Caliente ready for this years show, but not quite. Next time. Thanks for posting.

Perfect video as usual Bryan, it's great to see our mature hot rodders out there with the older builds. I have to figure out how to watch these videos on the big screen TV , I could almost smell that fat running Chevy 2 Gasser ....like I was there!

The way a cruise-in is supposed to be - cars with chrome bumpers only. Great.

@@twinrodders I was there but not until close to 10:00. I saw a couple walking around shooting vid and another guy kind of small in stature with a small camera.

@@vdrivevideo Not sure if that was us, my brother and I only shot video in the morning when they were rolling in, and spent a little time walking around the show until around noon. My brother uses a small Sony Handycam to film and I use a Nikon D3400 to take pictures and occasionally an older Handycam to film. It was a great show and a great time!

    • @irterry1

A friend that has restored exotic classic cars all his life recognized and gave the following description of the "car": The classic car was a 1915 American LaFrance fire truck that was found in a forrest, they had to cut many trees down to extricate it. The original engine (14 litres), hood, frame and radiator were retained and the body was hand crafted from three different species of mahogany. It was built by Gary Wales, he has done a series of them, he calls them LaBestioni. He is friends with Jay Leno.
