Im 21 and my mom just went out for the evening. my washing machine was showing E04 error so i decided to take the drain thing out and i got stuck and i couldnt put it back in. i was at it for an hour sweating if i would fix it before my mom got home. I found your other video and decided to get my plier out. I struggled for another 30 mins because i was afraid i would break it then i found this video and said screw it. Im tired, sweaty and i can barely move my arms anymore. I yanked it out with my bare hands and something resembling a small mouse came out. I panicked and moved back but upon further inspection it was just a really brown big hair tie.
I put everything back in and i am now just so happy. Thank you for the video, a lifesaver you are

You don't understand how happy you have made me, I've been struggling with my washing machine for months. It wasn't draining the water, so I tried the filter and the handle snapped.
Was trying knives everything.
Was left thinking I need to replace, but no money.
Then yesterday I had enough, its taking me ages to get through loads, and they are coming out soaking after 2/3 spins.
And then I found your video. And I drilled the holes and finally got it out.
Ordered a replacement on Amazon and hopefully I don't need to replace just yet.
This is just such fantastic, pragmatic advice. I've watched videos that painfully take apart my Bosch machine in order to access the drain hose clips at the drain pump. This way is so much easier, no need to move or open the machine. Just have a spare filter plug on hand in case it is required.
I’ve done it both ways. This way you don’t have to move the machine but you need a spare plug. Thanks

Thank you for this video. It was very helpful with fixing my stuck filter! I was able to save my filter by accessing the the pump from underneath, removing the collar to the drain and removing the clog. The probably save several $$$ in service fees!

Thank you so much for this. I could not understand why the filter would not rotate but the jiggle worked and I found the two collar stiffeners that were blocking it.

If you can get the pump out of the machine sometimes you can get the blockage out through the out pipe.

Thanks very much for this - helped a lot and was the only way I could have solved the issue, the machine was full of pens, cocktail sticks and enough coins for a Roman fountain. I also had to put the machine on it's left side to detach the hose leading down from the tub to the filter and empty it of a ton of stuff. Hats off to Samsung for the machine not breaking completely with that lot in it.
Thanks for this, very helpful, so my plug was stuck, glad I watched your video preventing me from snapping off the plug handle, tried the wiggle method for a long time, no good, felt springy, so I assumed a hairclip. Turned the whole machine on its side and tried to wiggle again. It eventually came free, it was a plastic clip and an elastic hair band, all tangled together. Thanks again

Thanks! Just snapped off the plastic on my beko machine - same filter as you have. Gonna wait for new filter to arrive then use the drill method to get the old one out.

Update: it's worked!! Thank you very much for saving my money. Didn't have a drill so i use screwdrivers and pilers to make a hole and try to break it, it would be easy if i had drill but thank you for the great idea. And may I ask you please if is it okay to turn the washing machine without the filter until I get the new filter?
You can turn it on without the filter but water will come straight out of it.

Had this exact problem last year. Its litterely designed to break when there is a blockage.
Bra wire was stuck in the filter. Couldn't open it, so just like the video, I got a pair of plyers and snapped it. However I was able to still get enough grip to get it out eventually (45min of tugging at it).
Its a terrible design, because once something gets in that is long like a piece of wire, its almost nigh impossible to remove the cap since the cap is attached to the back which needs to rotate, but it can't rotate as its jammed with metal. Would be much better if you could remove the front cap, and separately remove the back, at least you would be able to see inside and move the blockage.
Having to order a spare part now, as i forgot and now got a sock stuck in it, so needed to turn the cap again which is a pain.
I love the idea of drilling in, as a way to destroy the cap enough to remove it.
It is possible to remove the whole pump and blockage and open the pump from behind. Or if it is a bra wire or something just take off the inlet hose. I have shown how to remove the pump. It is more work but you don’t have to get spare parts.
@@bootsowen that would have worked if I had known what the issue was, I assumed it was just stuck/tight fit. Once the turn handle is broke, your in for just trying to get it out at that point. Only once I got enough out could I see what the issue was. Potentially putting the machine on its side might have been enough to dislodge it without having to dismantle it.
It's cool to see the inter workings of these machines because they aren't that complex, mostly just alot of empty space around the drum.
I guess that’s the crux of it. Once it’s broken it’s too late!

15 MINUTES! I’m in a hotel and this happened. The two maintenance guys just busted the cap, and pulled out the debris thru the hole. Then, screwed in a new cap. DONE under 15 mins!

Ah that helps a lot but I just pulled front part if plug off and have nothing to grip now. Guess I need buy a new plug now for Finlux washing machine.

@@bootsowen the one using 2 pieces of wood? I went one further than that... that part came off and now theres nothing behind to grip
So if it’s already broken you could drill holes in the inner part. Or you could try to get a grip somehow. If you can’t you need a whole new pump and filter.
@@bootsowen thanks yeh its stuck hard.. no grip.. need to get someone remove it. Why a new pump? Would new filter not work aline? Altho ibvs something stuck in it
So why not drill two holes in it and work it out with a pliers and then order a new filter plug?

Lol, I managed to get the filter out with your advice thank you, it did take some time, But for some reason there was a massive piece of sandpaper in the large rubber connecting pipe that goes into the pump. Yes, I managed to take it all apart. Go me !! Lol. New parts on its way. Thank you again for your help 🥳💯🙌
Great video, but don't lay machines on their right side. Any liquid in the tray or tub hose could easily flow to the right and straight onto the display PCB :p

Hi I have a hoover branded washer and I think the filter top is a thick piece of plastic I am struggling to get through to make the holes. Any suggestions on drill tips ?

Cut two pieces of metal then got mole grips on it snapped the back 3 inch screw in there glued it back together with my hot glue gun 🎉
