Vietnam was surprisingly well-organized. I haven't watched before, but they seem to be a bunch of young and committed players. I remember many years ago Iran would demolish teams from South Asia with large margins but this was a tough game and Vietnam not only defended well, they even had a couple of decent chances to grab goals. Iran did play against Mexico 3 times. All three Iran lost. World cup 2006 3-1, friendly in US 2-1 and friendly in Mexico 4-0. Yet this Iran team is by far way more organized and more confident than before. It would be a nice match to watch.

Do not be disappointed. U23 level and A level are completely different. Vietnam is mainly composed of U23 players. However, the opponents are not. What Vietnamese people need to do is trust them. They are really young and this defeat will be great experience for them. In addition, losing to Iraq by 2:3 and losing to Iran by 0:2 are quite good result. Iran have really good defence to make Spain, Portugal and Argentina (2014) struggle in the 'World Cup'. Even world-class teams cannot underestimate Iran. To be honest, Iran is the strongest team in Asia right now. Iraq is also strong. They went to semi-final in the last Asian Cup and there is no Asian team underestimate Iraq. Vietnam did really well against two difficult opponents. In other words, Vietnam was terribly unlucky(....) However, I think Vietnam showed great potential against two strong teams. I hope Vietnam get satisfiable result in the match against Yemen to advance with Wild Card.

Not suprised at all
Despite many inpressive breakthrough and achievements in the previous year, we are now still hopeless against many teams that belong to the top class in asia like iran, south korea or japan. But vietnam team's performance crossed our expectation. Good defence,even a chance to score at a 1vs 1 strike and really great spirit.But surely not enough to even have a draw.
Anyway i still proud of my country. And also congratulate to iranian, you deserve this win.
