    My first introduction to Japanese Swordsmanship, as a 12 year old, was Katori Shinto Ryu (unfortunately, not in person). I am now 55, have experienced a few 'schools/Ryu', and have been rewarded by the training. I still maintain 'Katori...' as the pinnacle of excellence. I can but dream...

    I love how they battle for the center. That's what the secret was, control the center and deal a devastating strike. For those who don't study a samurai based art, what these guys are doing is coming down with strikes designed to take the center of the opponent. The more advanced/experienced swordsman will take center and deflect the opponent's sword just enough (unnoticeable in video) away from center mass that if he was to run the sword straight in, it would miss. You want the tip of your sword to point at center mass while deflecting your opponent's sword tip away from your center mass. Takes A LOT of skill and years of practice.

    • @Jotigliare
      @Jotigliare Před 9 lety

      all it's about the Kenjutsu style, in Niten Ichi Ryu Miyamoto Musashi talk about the high position in the battle field, trying to locate the opponents in a line, not all around yourself, if you have this line you will fight with one o two opponents at the same time, but if you are in the center all the opponents can kill to you at the same time, in the video the man is not looking for the center, he was in the center when the fight it's starting, this that i think only

    La Katana fue creado en el siglo 16 por los samurai nunca necesita ningún arreglo con toda la tecnología que surgió poco a poco
    para crear una katana original debe estar fundiendo acero 3 días consecutivos en un horno que es ahora sólo uno de katanas Haser en Japón mediante la reducción de un grado de calor ya no es haser una katana y sólo sirven para hacer cuchillos y tenedores, El samurai katana es encovada que da una resistencia que puede desviar cualquier urgencia una katana original nunca jamás perder su ventaja por mil cortes en lugar de aga nunca perdió un día
    La impresionante fortaleza de la katana se debía a su curvatura, lo que hizo posible el tribunal podría incluso colocar la sección del hueso del oponente. Puesto que debe agarrar con las dos manos, el portador de la espada tuvo que ser colocado en ángulo recto con el enemigo. El samurai utiliza ningún escudo de protección, debido a que la katana es un arma defensiva y ofensiva a la vez. Debido a su alta resistencia, podría golpear el arma del oponente para desviar el ataque y entregar inmediatamente un golpe fatal. Debido a todas estas características, no es ninguna exageración que muchos historiadores afirman que la katana es muy superior a las espadas diseñadas por otras culturas .. este es katana de samurai Kenshin Uesug..Shalom..

    • @Kungen940127
      @Kungen940127 Před 9 lety +1

      The screaming (or "kiai" if you prefere the japanese word) has nothing to do with "do" or "jutsu". "Do" simply means "way and "jutsu" means technique. The reason you don't "scream" in Muso Shinden Ryu is because the ones who created that style of iaido didn't use kiai.
      Look at kendo. It is a "do". And they scream, a lot.

      kata = martial art form or a set of moves predetermined. One you might know of is the "draw sword and slash at opponent's temple or throat, deblood the blade, then reshealth." So in the video, all of the kata/forms look prearranged because they are, they are forms practiced over and over again to engrain muscle memory. And just extra info., but the shinto ryu kata are forms that subliminally teach students lethal hits.
