The murder of Junko Furuta was one of the worse i've heard of... And what about that guy, Alex Crain who shot his parents dead at the age of 14 in December, 2010? He knew what he had done, but had no actual reason why he killed his parents. He instantly called 911 and told the dispatcher while on the edge of crying: "I was sleeping and the next thing I knew I had a gun in my hand and my parents were on the ground." He was on the phone with the dispatcher for 16 more minutes, telling that he had no serious fights or arguments with his parents, and that they caused no harm for him. When the police arrived to his house, and arrested him, he kept saying that he was sorry. He was sentenced for 20 years as an adult.
The other guy actually didn't want to kill his parents. He was asleep and when he actually woke up he was standing upright with a gun in his hand, his parents dead in front of him. It's a rare condition, but it was proven that he had it.

Basically the amount of time needed to be served until a person can go up for parole is a determined by how much time is sentenced, I.e. longer sentences mean more time needs to be served before a person can be put up for parole. A life sentence with parole is about 20-25 years, so by adding multiple life sentences or more time in general means people who shouldn't get out won't.
What shocked me the most is that so many convicted psychotic criminals have been granted new identities! This should NOT happen, no matter their age! If someone committed such horrible crimes, they should not be given an opportunity to later escape the ongoing consequences of their actions. It's kind of like saying, "well, we've punished you a bit, so I guess it's alright now." Yikes!
But the crazy thing is, if you do lesser crimes, such as defend yourself by having to kill someone, or you're you messed up on your porole, the consequences are more severe!! Our legal system is just screwed up!

I went to Southwood middle which is where Michael Hernandez killed Jamie Gough. They were friends. It was literally my first week starting at that school. I remember we had a lockdown where we all had to sit underneath the desk & be quiet while there were rumors that there was a killer on the loose. I imagined a man with a gun but it was a student. He was sitting in class when they found the body. We weren't released from the school till well after dismissal. We had a white butterfly ceremony where we released a bunch of butterflies in memorial for poor Jamie.
A serial killer is a person who commits a series of murders, often with no apparent motive and typically following a characteristic, predictable behavior pattern. If the killer only has one victim then he is just a killer, the "serial" part wouldn't apply.

To add to the Kemper story, I took criminal justice classes in Everett WA in the early 90's. One of our instructors use to be a California Game Warden and periodically would let people to go on ride alongs, he also taught a cj class at the college there. Kemper was one of his students. He use to come into class and clunk his backpack down on the desk and talk to the instructor for a while before sitting down. Latter it was revealed he had a human head in the back pack. One time he was on a ride along and described to the instructor/ Game Warden a place where someone had cut brush and piled it up. A body was found there latter. By the time I had him for a teacher in WA he was a bit leary of certain types of personalities.

You missed the most chilling part about Mary Bell. She went to Bryan's house the day of his funeral, knocked on the door, and asked his grieving mother to see him. When his mother explained that he was dead, Mary said, "I know. I Want to see his body."

I was very aggressive when I was a teen, but only because I was bullied in middle school. I never killed anyone, however I only hurt the ones who deserve it. One time a bully was picking on me and a defenceless girl, so I punched him 3 times in the face. I told the principle what happened and he supported me, by expelling the bully and only giving me detention.

Frankly it wouldn't always work well with that model since you add in other crimes and try and put everyone of them into prisons that are already overflowing. Plus there have been an alarmingly high number of exonerations of people on death row- enough so that I'd rather be cautious and simply go with life in prison with no chance of parole.

He was sitting in class when they found the body. We weren't released from the school till well after dismissal. We had a white butterfly ceremony where we released a bunch of butterflies in memorial for poor Jamie.

To add to the Kemper story, I took criminal justice classes in Everett WA in the early 90's. One of our instructors use to be a California Game Warden and periodically would let people to go on ride alongs, he also taught a cj class at the college there. Kemper was one of his students. He use to come into class and clunk his backpack down on the desk and talk to the instructor for a while before sitting down. Latter it was revealed he had a human head in the back pack.
One time he was on a ride along and described to the instructor/ Game Warden a place where someone had cut brush and piled it up. A body was found there latter.
By the time I had him for a teacher in WA he was a bit leary of certain types of personalities.

Like two siblings, same house, same parents but still different perspective on life. You can't put everyone in the same bag. Because there are some amazing people who went through rough things and still manage to stay good, but they are the exception not the rule. Being in such a traumatic environment it will for sure affect you.

From one documentary I saw, I think he said that he would have chats with local police officers who were investigating missing and murdered girls and they had no clue it was him, and it wasn't a "cat-and-mouse" thing for him. I was very aggressive when I was a teen, but only because I was bullied in middle school. I never killed anyone, however I only hurt the ones who deserve it. One time a bully was picking on me and a defenceless girl, so I punched him 3 times in the face. I told the principle what happened and he supported me, by expelling the bully and only giving me detention.
But that was 6 years ago and now im no longer bullied and living my life happily with great friends, and zero conflict.
